Interestingly enough, Awkwafina actually played Sandra Oh on SNL a few months earlier. I've always held a suspicion that Sandra Oh wanted to get back at her by playing an Awkwafina character on steroids.

Sandra's voice in this, her whole attitude, a completely different persona I'm blown away. Directors and writers seriously don't use her full potential, this woman is GOOD.
Exactly, but it's probably just more impressive because most of us are more used to an intense, serious character. She's probably farther from Christina in real life than she is from this character (in a good way).

What's funnier is the fact that Beck Bennett is the youngest of them (35) whereas Mikey Day is the oldest (40) after Alex Moffat (38) 😂
I guess Beck has the deepest voice and also he kinda has that mature figure and his body is also big.. the thing with Mickey is that he still talks and acts like he is in his 20s.. and also his figure and body are lean and thin.. that is easily a kind of younger body as general

That's exactly what I was thinking when I looked it up. The oldest characters are played by the youngest actors, and vice versa, except for Sandra Oh, who seems to be her real age. An additional joke is that her age is supposed to be off-putting, but Sandra Oh is actually in very good shape for it.

Sandra Oh was one of the better hosts in a while. Up for anything, didn't stare at the cue cards, and showed good timing. It's great when a pro goes all-in on SNL. Compare Oh's work on this episode to De Niro's. Ouch.

@Allison Gargiulo In their defense, they only have a week, and things can change all the way up until the very last minute. :) I think it's actually encouraged to look at the cue cards for that reason.
But it can for sure be distracting when it's super obvious that they're doing it!

I love his timing, too. And the delivery- his voice inflection is always flawless. My all time favorite of his SNL characters is the "reluctant submissive/ battered husband" of Leslie Jones. Those spots are comedy gold!
