Thanks Robbie, I really enjoyed the conversation and visit to the 99cent store. I was at ours today picking up lettuce for the chickens and other fresh vegetables. Being so close to the border we get gorgeous produce from organic farms in both Southern Arizona and Mexico. I noticed they are offering plants but didn’t explore. @@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy several years ago well had little black cherry tomatoes. Could you please tell me what the name of those were I am very interested in finding those. Also the broccoli that you used to get for Miss Kitty. Was it broccolini or just regular broccoli? I am also interested in finding that as well. I tried your sprouting method with the pencil box. Can you believe every single thing sprouted I did not lose anything I had 100% success!

My sun chokes have come up! I buried them in a large pot outside where they will grow next to the fence (they get tall) and my pawpaws have just started breaking dormancy with tiny leaf buds! It is an exciting time in the garden! Also, I am growing purple tree collards from seed!! They have germinated (it took just a couple days to a week on top of soil in the sun). Thank you for the inspiration, because of you, I researched online and found a lady who only does tree collards! She has her own website and she has a UA-cam channel too! Great info! But because of you, I am also growing walking onions this year!

I bought some of the big bamboo sticks. I put them on top of a piece of rebar, then added a solar light to the top that I glued in. It looks really nice.

Hi Robbie. I'm going to buy a few of those little garden characters and try dunking them in a thin concrete slurry like hypertufta to preserve them. I will paint them, of course. I had some, and after a year, they cracked too.

Good deal At .99c! Saving $$ also! All honeydew seeds sprouted here from a grocery bought one named Mike's Melons. Took almost 2 weeks to poke out at 80°+ indoors. 🙃 Hard pressed to ever find the green melon PLANTS here in Wisc. (75-100 days to mature.)

i went to a 99-cents store in early february and asked the cashier when the seeds were going to be put out. she said that location wasn't seling seeds this year.
i was shocked, as i have been checking since january when dollar tree put out their 2024 seeds. ive visited at least ten different 99-cents stores between january and march. so far, none of them have seeds.
they may not be the best, but ive had great success with the 4/$1 seeds. im gonna keep checking - maybe next month? tfs

Hi Robbie and Gary! Those plants at the 99 cent store look pretty good! Kelloggs soil at the Home Depo is good to use I would get that brand of soil when I had a community garden 7 years ago ! I had all kinds of vegetables and I would grow pumpkins too! And I planted some peanut plants that I got from the nursery but I only got a few peanuts from the plants. I had flowers planted to like marigolds and cosmos! And Salvia! And I had a small section of the garden where I planted some herbs ! And I had a couple of raised beds at I would plant white corn in from seed Botanical interest brand Sliver queen that type of corn grew the best! I would share my vegetables and pumpkins with the other Gardeners ! A d they would share with me ! But I gave up my Garden plot and somebody has it now! I'm thinking of signing up for a community garden plot again! Because I miss the fresh veggies and I sometimes would see people walk though the community garden ! And they would say what a nice Garden you have !!

Me too 😂 im addicted i bought a strawberry plants for $3 and $3 floral barcopan I tried to find the yellow cherry tomatoes but they didn’t look that great . Walmart had roses on clearance for $4 and blueberry plants for $3 .
I don't blame you, I can't resist plants either.
The prices on some of the planters at the 99 are good, but they're not as good a quality as the ones made in Israel I used to buy that are still like new in the full sun in front of my house. Most people think they are really terra cotta! But some of the more recent ones are good, too - I've had a few styles now for a couple of years. And compared to prices elsewhere, most of their planters are even a good deal if I use some spray paint to change the color/help protect the planter. I keep "eyeing" those chairs, too; and i'm really tempted. I will stop there tomorrow to check out the plants, and will try to "be good" and not buy other things.
I have socks on my list for the 99 = they have 3-packs of diabetic or work socks that are largely cotton/hard to find these days. They only come in white/gray/black but I wear those colors a lot and I also like socks to sleep in either in cold weather or when I use foot cream.

those cheap hummer feeders are one summer feeders. They bleach out in the sun and then crack. They did get me started feeding. I started with 2 at about a dollar and twenty five cents each. They are not too hard to clean and they have a larger volume for the nectar. It was worth the experience.

I love the $.99 store and I do really well with the plants that I buy there. I know this video was three weeks ago and sadly all the $.99 stores are going out of business.

On the walking onions, sometimes they do, you can trim off the yellow or leave them alone and just trim it when you go to eat. Be sure they’re not overcrowded and they get good water and sun.
I have been looking for some plastic eggs for Easter. I was going to put a few dollars in them for my great grandkids for the Easter egg hunt. Maybe I’ll run over and maybe pick up a package of them I only need one or two because I’m sure everyone else is gonna be doing the sameinstead of putting candy in them I’m gonna put it

If I can get some zucchinis for $1.49 that is a pretty good buy maybe I will zip over and see if they have some. I need to put a few vegetables in and I wouldn’t want to put water in zucchinis produce so many zucchini if you don’t need me just me and my husband thanks so much for sharing about the vegetable prices might buy a few of those.
Well, you couldn’t resist could you they do get some goodbyes but sometimes you can get the plants just as cheap at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Used to be you could get them for a dollar or dollar and a half. They have double or triple their price on your plants. Sometimes I can buy some of the plants cheaper at Home Depot I have already most the time I see them at three99 to seven dollars and something well that’s just too much for me. I’ll go over to regular store because also they don’t water their plants. If you don’t get them the day they bring them in they’re almost dead. So you were great to find so many good looking healthy planets at the 99 Cents store.

I got those hummingbird feeders, they are plastic, and in summer it got above 100° for over two weeks, and I noticed the plastic feeders warp a bit, and they also get hotter than glass. I don’t know how that’s possible but they do. I’m switching all mine over to glass ones. I don’t have as many as you do, I’ve only got 6 total.
I’ve had trouble with plastic warping?
They don’t tip if you put some pebbles in the bottom.
I try hard to stay out of the stores. I’m trying to do a no spend month and spend very little and trying to stay on a budget and I find any store. I am buying groceries cause I have to eat and I have to keep up different things for maintenance. Oh my God you had to show me something for my fairy gardens. Let’s hope it’s expensive. I won’t try to buy it
We don’t have that in Minneapolis, now every thing is $1.25 even some of the things in Aldi is under $1 and the things that are $1.25 are less in the bags 😞so they really cheating us 🤷🏼♀️
