Not entirely. Who defunded the police? Who made it possible to get out of jail without bail? Who is shutting down the prisons? Who did you vote😊for if you even voted?
The decline in the "99 Cent Only" store can't be solely blamed on shoplifting. The new owners didn't adhere to the original plan set by the founder. Initially, it was a closeout and overstock store, offering a treasure hunt experience to buyers. However, the new owners shifted focus, overpricing items and adding everyday items like Dollar Tree, eliminating the appeal of finding unique overstocks. Their poor strategies led to a decline in customers. As someone who used to buy items to resell online, I noticed a significant decline in the quality and uniqueness of the items after the new owners took over.
It is not the Big Lots owner, it is a former executive. He owns a revived Pic and Save with two locations. There is an article about it on lamag website
@@metalrabbit09I'm not a Big Lots fan; I think their prices are high. Here in Southern CA some of their stores have been closing, so it makes me wonder if buying the 99 stores may be a way to once again have lower-priced atores.
Was there yesterday. Bought the stakes for $1.99. No markdown. Spoke with the manager yesterday and was advised they have a warehouse full of stuff. Once it runs out, they will mark it lower. She also said they would be closed in June. This store is not bad at all. I heard other stores were a mad house. Meaning that as soon as they took something out to the front, people just bought it all up.
Hi Robbie, I am so upset about the closing of these stores that I can barely watch this. I have been a fan of 99cent only for years. It is my goto for vegetables and fruit. I'm in Tucson, and the buyers here do a fabulous job of bringing us organic foods... from overruns and other sources. The same greens you find in the high priced stores. I have for years created "Grandma" boxes of holiday fun for my three grandchildren in Washington State. The store has always had the best Seasonal isle. Oh Robbie, I am literally in tears.... sigh.
politicians can fix this. Make sure they know how you feel about our taxes being wasted to subsidize unhealthy food and liquor while vegetables, fruits, and grains get next to nothing.
I am so sorry, I do feel for you and understand, so many things are changing, I see it constantly. Prices in general are going up quick. ❤️❤️❤️ all the items that have been made for the $.99 store from companies, I’m hoping they find another resource that we can buy from. Otherwise they go out too, but I know they sell to a lot of different small stores throughout the United States, probably throughout the world as well. Hang in there ❤️
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy yes it was a long time ago I remember them well I was a teenager young teenager. I remember when they used to sell alligators out of the five and dimes in Utah lol baby wants to boot. I so enjoy the $.99 only stores in my area.
I’m very sad they are going out of business and I don’t buy the reason why they are closing. I’m hearing they are closing Dollar General stores too? I think it’s by design. Anyone agree?
Yep, it sure is sad! I remember the five and dime and woolsworth little stores like that and there’s always some fun little toys. And I always went to the 99 Cents store for terra-cotta pots in the spring and the fall gardening things. Yep it’s sad.
These are sad times..... I remember the 5 and Dime stores also...Woolworths, TG&Y, Ben Franklin, etc. I hope Dollar Tree hangs in there, but they will be closing some stores also, (mostly Family Dollar stores will close but some Dollar Tree stores that are not doing well will close too). I was at a 99 Cent store in Houston yesterday and got a few of the XL bucket / totes to plant potatoes or tree collard in. I did get 10% off but was not expecting it. A nice surprise at check out. They still had quite a bit of stuff left yesterday. I hope everyone stays safe and has a good weekend. 💐🌞🌱💕😊
I read an article that the Dollar tree is raising the prices again in the future. Soon Walmart will be the place to shop putting more small stores out of business. Thanks for the walkthrough of the 99 cent store.
What does this mean for all types of stores? Sign of the times? We had 5 rite aid’s here in Santa Clarita. Now we are down to one. It’s bare bones and the stuff is high priced! However, Grocery Outlet is moving into the closed Rite Aide buildings.
Super sad to see these close. We went today and got 13 planters. I didn't have the heart to go through the rest of the store. This was my grandma's favorite shop. 😢
I’m so sad they are closing . It helped me feed my family of seven during hard times and I so appreciated their affordable prices. They have helped me provide Christmas for my grandkids 😩 oh I just hate that they are closing 😢
I'm sorry 😞. I remember when Kroger left our town years ago and it was so sad because that was where i bought the majority of my groceries. It's sad for all the people who shop there. ❤😊😊❤
I’m so sorry! We don’t have a 99 cent store in Illinois, but I’ve seen plenty of other stores close. I’ve heard that they’re going to be closing Joann Fabrics soon. I hope you and Gary and all of the pups have a great weekend. Our weather is finally warming up, so I’ll be working in the garden this coming week.
About 10 days ago I had stopped at the big store on Wilshire at Fairfax, there was a young interesting gentleman that was running out the door with four bottles of laundry detergent, the security guard use some sort of a book, several of the bottles came out of a bag - yelled at the guy, some of the beach cities, it just doesn't happen I've never seen this before.. people are kind -- stores are well-stocked, they're not ripping things off it's just in some of these Fringe areas that are attracting undesirables...

They over charge for things. Last time I was there they wanted $6 for eggs that I bought at my local grocery for $4.79. Most of what they sell is junk for a high price.
I haven't been to a location since the pandemic. It seems times have changed. I never had a negative experience there much less surprises with price increases. So much has changed in the past 4 years.
Thanks for letting me know 😢 I didn’t know I was just there yesterday but they didn’t say anything of closing. No signs of any discount 😔 thanks Robbie 👍♥️👩🌾😊

I wonder how one of those battery operated brushes would work for cleaning the feeders. I am not sure if they went circular or if they just go back and forth.

Well there's always Dollar Tree. But they're also swerving away from their business model by selling products well over $1. The 99 Cent store started going downhill when it introduced higher prices. People don't go to dollar stores for oversized $19 bottles of rubbing alcohol. Wise up dollar stores.
