I'm a bit late but still proud to be a Georgian like him!! My grandma bakes bread just like that, of course she doesn't dive like this man does but a little of "diving" is still needed. Oh and trust me, baked bread like that is THE BEST!! Believe me I could eat only this bread for whole day and I wouldn't get sick especially when it's warm.
In India we make Naan(Indian bread) exactly this way. And that oven is called Tandoor, A cloth is dipped in Solution of salt and water and that cloth is rolled in circles around inside wall to make the walls salty and then the breads are stuck the same way as they did in this video. Only difference is I haven't seen anyone diving inside to stick them. That's really cool though 😅

In India nans and rotis are made in this way at 500 c temperature. As far as i see no need of this much deep stove, they can reduce its height and make 2 stoves out of 1.
Interesting. In India there is a certain fried bread called 'puri' and breads and meats can be prepared in an oven called a 'tandoor' (similar to tonir). I wonder if there are any common cultural roots between the two areas.
There aren’t really many commonalities between the two cultures. In fact, the Georgian language doesn’t belong to the indo-European language branch. It seems that, according to the comments here, many cultures have a similar method of making bread; this method is probably thousands of years old.
