    Thanks for sharing Luc.
    When you first played the iPad, my first impression was "that sounds too clean, digital and almost sterile-sounding". Then when you started to play the hardware synths, my impression was "wow, that sounds so much better". Don't know if you agree or not but so far, to my ears, the hardware is sounding much richer and alive. Merci encore!

      They have different sounds for sure. One of the reason I think is that when using a single source of sound (gadget or else) you will get a more uniform sound. Some might qualify it of sterile, but I don’t think so. It’s just a sound.
      But combining many sound synthesis from different sources gives you a wider palette to play with. That is why I’m really interested in combining the sounds of the Gadget to hardware. I like the hybrid result.

    Please would you consider doing a show on why ableton has not produced a ios working daw for ipad yet ?

    Hi, are the Scale functions in the Nanokey Studio available while using a DAW like Ableton? Thanks.

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it’s an internal feature to the Nanokeys. You can set up the scale in which the notes will be sent out.

    Hi nutrix, i love the way you do things. I made in 2019 mostly like you do ( with gadget) and now think also to combine my
    Gadget knowhow with my hardware. More in the way to use vsts like the juno 106 in tracktion with gadget and the electribe 2s. Now i was silly enough to buy a cirquit monostation and make it a step more complicatet and use the. Crave as a analog synth in this cosmos. The greatest enemy is the time. It costs so much time to understand an handle such a complex building. So it‘s great to learn from you how to use live

      You make a lot of helpful videos.
      What do you do to earn money?
      With so much output (i suppose) you must be professionally involved with music ?!

      @@BananaJuice1984 , I was trained has a sound engineer in 1993-94 at the school #Musitechnic. After I graduated, I worked in postproduction for tv and for some live events. In 1995 I started to work for #Musitechnic (www.musitechnic.com). I wanted to teach synthesis, but they already had all their teachers, so I got hired as a lab technician to support the students and teachers. After a year, I started to teach synthesis and sampling. Then over the years I got to teach computer music, sound design and post-production. I did this for many years. Today, I'm the director of development and communication for the school Musitechnic in Montréal. Throughout these years I continued making music mostly under the name Nu-Trix. That is the short version. I made this video a while back about my background : ua-cam.com/video/3gxPAKd86yo/v-deo.html

    Hello Nutrix,
    Couldn’t be easier to change all your synth in Gadget by midi out control modules TAPEI and play all your hardware synth directly by your ipad ? Maybe, your external midi interface couldn’t be plugged to your ipad ?
    I do that, and I mix internal synth from Gadget with External Hardware. And all is played by my ipad.

      Yes, you are right but I also have 2 other options I want to try: 1- assign all my sounds to virtual synths in my Mac. 2- my MX-1 mixer can send all its inputs as separate tracks in a DAW. It will be for my final mix.

    This is kinda crazy. I got into hardware in 2016 after falling in love with Gadget. It is an amazing piece of software that allows for easy construction of full songs. I put out about 20 songs in Gadget and then fell into the hardware black hole when I started looking for gear to specifically duplicate the Gadgets I used regularly, with the plan of reconstructing my Gadget tracks on hardware. I've considered putting out a multiple format release as well, except I would be using the Deluge/MC707 as the brains to replace Gadget for the hardware versions. Unfortunately, I've had little time to work on this idea - and when I go back to my older Gadget tracks, I realize I was using some 20+ tracks on a lot of songs that wouldn't be feasible in the hardware realm without a lot of audio bouncing.
    That being said, I'm very interested in following this project of yours to see how you do it.

    Are you sending note data to the TR8S only? IE, not using it's internal sequencer?

      in this case the Tr8S is receiving MIDI notes.

    Thanks for your explanation of these workflows. One question. If you have gadgets for the Mac too, does the exported midi from gadget/iPad work with the VST versions of the corresponding instruments. Do things like cutoff controls and other modulations still work ? OK, that was 2 questions :-)

    • @Arperture
      @Arperture 4 роки тому

      Yeah, the same project data from Gadget translates over to Ableton if you export it as an Ableton project. If you export just the MIDI or audio, no.

    Why make EP's or Albums instead of Singles? Now that everyone listens to music on Spotify, the concept of an Album or EP is disappearing. Now nobody buys CDs where a set of songs formed an Album or EP. Now artists release 1 or 2 songs a month at a time on Spotify!

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  4 роки тому +2

      I like the concept of songs being a group or family that grew up together and are expressing different aspects of a same reality. That is why I still ( for these songs at least ) am going with the concept of an EP. but you are right, maybe one release per month over six months would be better. I’ll think about it.

    • @blue.sunset
      @blue.sunset 4 роки тому

      Nu-Trix The Synth Guy I agree with you on a set of different songs expressing the same reality. But currently the artists are launching on Spotify one single at a time and do a previous promotion of each single and this keeps fans always in tune without having to wait 1 year or more for an album. On another day this topic was discussed on another UA-cam channel and 90% of the comments agreed that since CDs are no longer sold, the Album and EP format are disappearing very quickly.
