Wull thanks for this again, when i seen part 1 i was too eager too pass it on as you might see in my comment ,but again how great is it too see life your mam and dad used to talk about, they had a hard life then and nowadays myself included could not put a good hard shift in.But you have made my night bud and i am pretty sure you will have more than 187 views in the next couple of weeks .Keep them coming
Hiya canthill3 (good name!) - thanks for all your comments! I know what you mean about life in the old days - I'd a grandad who worked down the mines in Shotts and some of the stories he could tell you... well I'm just grateful I'll never have to put in a days work like that.
Unfortunately I've uploaded all the old videos I have, but I'm hoping somebody out there has more and I've maybe inspired them to get those uploaded to UA-cam!
My Grandfather Danniel Cunningham worked down the pits in Shotts - so did my Grannie actually before she had kids - my Grannies brother Tam Dillett got killed down the pit in a pit accident - they moved to Boness to the pit there but i think there are still Dillets in Shotts i could be wrong tho - a few generations later i still feel a connection to Shotts strange tho it may seem
Hello! Myself and Chloe Allison are doing a documentary about the history of Shotts and are showcasing it at the Henderson Theatre on March 22nd. Chloe has written a song about the "old days" and we were wondering if we could use some of the footage on your channel to accompany the song?
Sorry - bit late in replying! I don't own the footage here, and to be honest I don't know who does. I got it off a copy of a copy of an old VHS tape that was doing the rounds in Shotts some time in the 1990s. The footage itself is so old though that I doubt there would be anyone who'd raise a complaint...
Moved from winchburgh to Shotts 1997 ,what a great place .
Been welcomed by everyone.
Fantastic my name is Graham Millar and I was brought up in Shotts and now live in Salsburgh, but Shotts is always in my heart

Hiya Graham - we got close, but somehow the cameraman just managed to miss out Salsburgh when he was filming Kirk O' Shotts!
