Another gem from the "Shotts Video Workshop" tape that was doing the rounds in Shotts a few years back. A promotional film from 1963, designed to attract business to the area. Looking around the Shotts of today it wasn't exactly a roaring success...

My grannie came from Dykehead but moved in the 1930s - her maiden name was Dillett - maybe there are some Dillets still there

Really fantastic find! The year I was born! What a shame the narrator has a horrible rp accent. I'd have loved a Scottish accent but in those days a Scottish accent was seen as inferior!
