Had it on pre-order since NAMM - it's a great keyboard and lots of fun to play. It really attracts attention in church. Battery life is very good as is the range of the wireless. For $200, you can't beat it. The first time I used it in church, some kids came up as I was packing up equipment afterward and thought the keytar was cool - but they said what would really make it cool would be if I could shoot fire out of the end of it.
Alesis says the range is 200 feet. That's probably not too far off. In the church we used to go to, the sanctuary was pretty large. I was able to walk around the back and have it play fine - probably about 80 feet. I could even go out into the foyer, and it still worked. So 200 feet is probably ideal, but it's got a good, long reach.
Mine has been tremendous, had it about a year now, using it with Macbook, accelerometer is hard to program exact, I'm using it for morphing drawbars on Logic B3, works good with filter although again hard to control if you only want a 'slight' change. all other controllers are tremendous. and batteries last for Hours; nice job alesis with this product
What are u using 2 make sounds, what supplies do I need have sound? I know I have 2 have a midi chord, a laptop or a computer but what else do I need next?
It happens alot, more than I'd like. I'm thinking it doesnt like clock being sent to it. When I go into the Vysex editor, the program names are all garbled then I have to load the factory default and it then works fine for awhile. I really would like to use it with my IiConnect Midi 4+ wirelessly and it did work the first time I used it with the iConnect. It does work USB strangely enough. Maybe mine has a funky on off switch.
Neil Barbu What computer are you using? I am planning to buy one of these keytars, and occasionally my midi drum machine would take a while to connect but never cut out. Thanks for the information, this is really helpful.
I bought it but no one explained how to make sounds.it doent have it own sound.how to connect no one explained simply, lying in my home.if it has its own sound it's good.no use.

What is holding your sheet music behind you? Where can I get one?
that is called a piano. Its a very neat instrument! :)
It seems to not like anything that is sending clock I'm thinking, but works fine via usb
What do you mean "original vortex"... so there was a vortex before this?
+Michael Undas yes. There was the White Vortex which wasn't as modular.
where I can buy this One? I can't see any available on the Internet.
the vortex wireless has been replaced with the wireless 2, which you can get here: amzn.to/3ehkNtn
how do u make it wireless
It's already wireless
I got mine from SWEETWATER but it wigs out sometimes and stops transmitting valid midi data
How often does this happen, and what are you plugging it into?
