Justin Marks is slowly becoming one of the best owners in motorsports. You can see with his expression he clearly cares about Suarez. I believe he truly meant what he said while other owners have said similar but gone the other way.
I was at the race and watched this dude practically run off the pit box and out of the pits to go be the first to hug him. Definitely doesn’t sound or look like he’s sour on him behind the scenes.

I've noticed Penske always seems to have 1 car show up in a big way. Usually it's Blaney or Logano (if not both), but even Cindric has had some good runs at times, even when Blaney and Logano's performances went missing
I'd say Chastain is very high on my Power Rankings. He won the final race at Phoenix last year and had a real shot at winning in Daytona. Not to mention he came back from a lap down and finished right behind Bubba. He has fantastic race control at the front and does well on every type of track from road course to super speedways. Not to mention his knack for moving up the field by taking the unpreferred lanes. It seems the infamous "talk" he'd gotten about his hard racing which seemed to affect his race craft has finally settled in and he's better driver than ever.
Remember one thing, Trackhouse already talked an owner in to selling a team not for sale. You have a lot of owners out there getting up there in years, and a couple teams just barely hanging on by a thread. I don't think it would take much to get the 16 and 31 under their roof.

But in racedays, unless something crashes into him (for some odd reason he always gets caught in crashes, just look at last Daytona), he's proven to be, _at least_ , a top 10 driver. And has been JGR's and SWR's scapegoat tbf. 2023 was simply a bad year.
The Trackhouse business model is pretty much set up to appeal to outside investors. They have multiple opportunities within the entity (with the entertainment group, cross-promotions), a lot of star power and prominence with Pitbull, and their name already reflects a group rather than something like Hendrick or Joe Gibbs. It'd be easy and even expected for a private equity firm to jump in.
I feel like Trackhouse could continue to shock people. I believe Trackhouse will acquire one of Spires charters after this season and bring Zane Smith in-house. I honestly think Trackhouse will try to run SVG in that 91 car full time next year with or without a charter. Trackhouse just does things that people don't expect and that would add to that list.
I think some honorable mentions for the power rankings would be Michael McDowell and Todd Gililland. They have both started near the front and led tons of laps but they have had very bad luck
Probably Xfinity because they already kinda have an Xfinity car that uses their materials but is owned by Kaulig. I would say they’d probably purchase the charter for either Zane Smith or Conner Zilisch
Or as I was thinking a revamp of SHR's deal with Ford & trimmed down to a 2 car charter keeping Briscoe & Berry. Then Trackhouse gobbles up 1 of those charters & RFK the other.

I reckon between Kaulig and SHR there could be up to 4 charters up for sale in the next three years. Kaulig and Trackhouse could merge (they’re already headed down that route) and SHR could easily scale back to 2 cars by 2026.
I don’t think it’s quite Connor Zilisch time yet, so they have four drivers. And what do you know? A team can have up to four charters. Marks is playing for keeps here.

Would it be crazy to think NASCAR could go back to. 43 car field?? I mean if there is this much interest in getting a charter by teams that getting big like trackhouse and 23XI. Chase Elliott is 6th in points with a stage win and two top 15's. He got shuffled back at the end of Daytona, but was running up front. Then still finished top 15 in Atlanta even after all the damage he ended up with. Not the greatest start, but it's been hard fought.

I think Trackhouse long term is building a development program for Chevy the way Ford and Toyota have for their development drivers. I think we see Trackhouse build an Xfinity and a truck program within the next 2 years. Of course with the charter system up in the air, NASCAR could possibly add more charters and I could see trackhouse grab 1 of those.
Suarez is just a mediocre driver, in a ragingly successful team that is taking the whole series by storm, and Suarez has been a buzz kill on the entire thing with mediocrity, this win helps his case somewhat though, he needs to prove its not a fluke.

I’m excited to watch Daniel this year. Winning earlier in the year opens up the playbook to get more great finishes. That and a new crew chief is going to possibly make this a big year for the #99 team. I can also see TrackHouse expanding ,possibly into the lower series with there own equipment eventually. Justin Marks is a racer.
If I had to guess where track house might get that third charter. Maybe that third spire car that is in a lease agreement between Track house and spire. Gets handed over to track house. Or maybe a team like SHR,RWR or kualig sell one of their charters. All of those teams seem to be struggling with multiple charters. So maybe selling one off might not be a bad thing for them.
Here’s a thought: Trackhouse has some pretty fast cars. With the way their development program is shaping up, could we see a full-time, open car trying to race their way in every week? Most of the time they’d be ok, as we only see about 37 entries on any given week, so they’d only have to worry about big ticket races like the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600

I’m not sure he ever was on the hot seat. Hendrick was patient and gave Byron 3-4 years without much success or wins. Now he is competing for championships, getting multiple wins and now a 500 champion. Suarez finally found his home where he can be comfortable and take time to develop.

Shane van Gisbergen is my guy, but he is NOT anywhere near ready for Cup series yet. He's admitted it himself. He is still learning and barely getting started.
SVG just literally started 2 speedway tracks in doing okay is not necessarily a shoe in. Like at all matter of fact I think he had issues qualifying to get into the Daytona race initially
@a They won't know what hit them when he gets comfortable and that should be halfway through the season, he's not going to get multiple oval wins but he will win an oval before the end of the season and be a contender every race whatever type of track.
Conor Zilisch is a great talent. Finishing fourth in the 2023 Ta2 championship. He’s been within Justin Marks’ sight as Justin Marks partly races in Ta2 and Ta which Zilisch is great in.
I think Suarez still needs to have actual success past the round of 16 in the playoffs for me to buy in on him, but I’ve fully bought in on Trackhouse and hope they do great things

I personally think Chase Elliott shouldn’t have fallen out of the top ten, he was involved in three incidents that were not of his own doing, and still rallied a junked car back to 15th. Reddick hasn’t finished better than 29th yet and he’s at 8th.
I think Trackhouse will require a charter probably this year or next year. The only concern I have is who going to lose a charter. I think I'm looking at SHR depending on the penalties they will have this week.
As a Bowman fan, him being knocked out of the rankings this week makes sense. I was happy the team did not pack up and go home after going 5 laps down. They went from 37th to 27th by the end of the race and I like that they got all they could after a long frustrating day.
Bubba with back to back top 5s and going back to a track where he finished top 5 at a year ago in the spring gonna be interesting to see how Bubba Wallace will do in the upcoming races
Shane van Gisbergen has lived in Australia since moving there from New Zealand at age 18 in September 2007. He moved from Australia with his UK born girlfriend (also living in Australia and a shareholder of the Triple Eight Race Engineering 'V8' Supercars team) to the USA. Not for getting the dog who is from Australia. Meanwhile with a Trackhouse alliance with Kaulig Racing. It would be more logical if a driver like Shane van Gisbergen will move up to Kaulig Racing in obtaining a full time ride in the NASCAR Cup Series in the future. Which is another reason why SVG is taking part in Cup Series races with Kaulig in 2024. Given the circumstances Kaulig could have two Cup series slots for Trackhouse drivers. While there is nothing to stop Zane Smith from staying in a DRIVER position with Spire Motorsports in the short term (if not longer)
I would have added an FRM car in your list… Michael McDowell has two front row starts and Todd Gilliland led the most laps yesterday (although the finish isn’t reflective of his run…) Although these are two superspeedways, it is the best and fastest FRM has looked in a long time.
I understand Nascar in its hesitation to extend the charters as the prices have increased to insane levels. However, I’m still a fan of what Darrell Waltrip wanted when he called for franchising. The charters need to have reasonable prices in my opinion, and the field can be more full. The cost of getting in shouldn’t keep top tier players from getting in. This hurts overall competition, and slows the advancement of the sport. The insane prices paid for charters recently also handicaps existing top tier players from expanding efficiently.
Following up on the comments about Trackhouse with 4 drivers and 2 seats. I am of the “opinion” (yep, I know we all have one and they all stink) that the 2 Kaulig cup cars will be racing in the 2025 season under the Trackhouse banner, Kaulig will function as the Xfinity team for TH, much like HMS & JRM. I suspect the financials might be 40M cash for one charter and 40M buy-in to Trackhouse for the other charter. Justin keeps signing drivers, he has a plan for those drivers, and I doubt it is to build someone else’s organization. That is my “bold prediction” for the 2025 season, a formal relationship between Trackhouse and Kaulig.
I expect Trackhouse to aquire the spire charter that Zane is using and/ or the second Kaulig charter. Or continue to loan Zane to Spire and SVG to Kaulig in cup next year.

Eric, in the top 3 series it was 8th, in top 2; 6th, but cup it is 3rd. Fun Fact: closest finish in top 3 series is .0004 in the 2018 Xfinity Series Opener. 😅
There are only ten drivers who have completed every lap of the season so far. And 19 of 35 drivers who have started every race has finished every race. We are finally getting to the races that will actually show who has good cars this year.
I was always a Hendrick fan since 2013 but after 2016, I kinda ignored Hendrick and only cared about Suarez since 2015. Then came trackhouse in 2021 and I’ve been team Trackhouse ever since. I love both Chastain and Suarez !
I think Spire and Trackhouse merge. Spire bought out the KBM Team and Shop when Kyle Busch switched to Chevrolet. You get 4 charters, Corey Lajoie, Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez, SVG, You get an expansion to Xfinity with the combined resources for Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar and the young guy races on the "Partially Trackhouse Owned" Cars Tour or in the Truck Series with the Previously mentioned and already existing Truck Team
How do you leave Martin Truex Jr. Out of the top ten in power rankings after that great showing at Atlanta ? Some of those in your top ten are ridiculous compared to Truex who ran in the top five much of the race and got bumped out of the grove right next to the wall after the last restart .
I see a 3rd full time team and car for 2025 or 26 at track house Marks saying stuff that's hints to it behind hints of contracts gotta listen deeper to how he words it
When Marks says 'we're a growing business' it sounds like '3rd charter incoming'. That would ease the pressure off Suarez and for bringing in SVG. Zilich is a long-term answer; no rush there. Not sure where that would leave Smith...
They will probably add an xfinity team and truck team to pipeline driver development. SVG will prob drive xfinity one more year full time and the part time cup car they have. Then keep working on a third charter to move him fulltime cup car long term
I’d say it’s a miss not having chastain in the top 10 you could make a good case with his performance at Daytona and coming back from a speeding penalty to get a top 10 at Atlanta
Suarez is one of the best intermediate and road course drivers currently and you can make a point that he’s good at Superspeedways but they are too unpredictable and he’s always at the wrong place at the wrong time. But he could improve in short tracks but he’s still alright.

If I had to guess where track house might get that third charter. Maybe that third spire car that is in a lease agreement between Track house and spire. Gets handed over to track house. Or maybe a team like SHR,RWR or kualig sell one of their charters. All of those teams seem to be struggling with multiple charters. So maybe selling one off might not be a bad thing for them.
I liked how Chastain pulled low coming to the line so that he wasn’t giving Blaney any push. Good teammating there.

Here’s a thought: Trackhouse has some pretty fast cars. With the way their development program is shaping up, could we see a full-time, open car trying to race their way in every week? Most of the time they’d be ok, as we only see about 37 entries on any given week, so they’d only have to worry about big ticket races like the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600

Shane van Gisbergen is my guy, but he is NOT anywhere near ready for Cup series yet. He's admitted it himself. He is still learning and barely getting started.
SVG just literally started 2 speedway tracks in doing okay is not necessarily a shoe in. Like at all matter of fact I think he had issues qualifying to get into the Daytona race initially

Conor Zilisch is a great talent. Finishing fourth in the 2023 Ta2 championship. He’s been within Justin Marks’ sight as Justin Marks partly races in Ta2 and Ta which Zilisch is great in.

I personally think Chase Elliott shouldn’t have fallen out of the top ten, he was involved in three incidents that were not of his own doing, and still rallied a junked car back to 15th. Reddick hasn’t finished better than 29th yet and he’s at 8th.

I think Trackhouse will require a charter probably this year or next year. The only concern I have is who going to lose a charter. I think I'm looking at SHR depending on the penalties they will have this week.

As a Bowman fan, him being knocked out of the rankings this week makes sense. I was happy the team did not pack up and go home after going 5 laps down. They went from 37th to 27th by the end of the race and I like that they got all they could after a long frustrating day.

Shane van Gisbergen has lived in Australia since moving there from New Zealand at age 18 in September 2007. He moved from Australia with his UK born girlfriend (also living in Australia and a shareholder of the Triple Eight Race Engineering 'V8' Supercars team) to the USA. Not for getting the dog who is from Australia.
Meanwhile with a Trackhouse alliance with Kaulig Racing. It would be more logical if a driver like Shane van Gisbergen will move up to Kaulig Racing in obtaining a full time ride in the NASCAR Cup Series in the future. Which is another reason why SVG is taking part in Cup Series races with Kaulig in 2024.
Given the circumstances Kaulig could have two Cup series slots for Trackhouse drivers. While there is nothing to stop Zane Smith from staying in a DRIVER position with Spire Motorsports in the short term (if not longer)
I have a feeling that they are going to partner with Kaulig and run the cup series through trackhouse and xfinity with Kaulig.

I understand Nascar in its hesitation to extend the charters as the prices have increased to insane levels. However, I’m still a fan of what Darrell Waltrip wanted when he called for franchising. The charters need to have reasonable prices in my opinion, and the field can be more full. The cost of getting in shouldn’t keep top tier players from getting in. This hurts overall competition, and slows the advancement of the sport. The insane prices paid for charters recently also handicaps existing top tier players from expanding efficiently.
Bring back the Busch Series!!!

Following up on the comments about Trackhouse with 4 drivers and 2 seats.
I am of the “opinion” (yep, I know we all have one and they all stink) that the 2 Kaulig cup cars will be racing in the 2025 season under the Trackhouse banner, Kaulig will function as the Xfinity team for TH, much like HMS & JRM. I suspect the financials might be 40M cash for one charter and 40M buy-in to Trackhouse for the other charter. Justin keeps signing drivers, he has a plan for those drivers, and I doubt it is to build someone else’s organization. That is my “bold prediction” for the 2025 season, a formal relationship between Trackhouse and Kaulig.

I expect Trackhouse to aquire the spire charter that Zane is using and/ or the second Kaulig charter. Or continue to loan Zane to Spire and SVG to Kaulig in cup next year.

Eric, in the top 3 series it was 8th, in top 2; 6th, but cup it is 3rd. Fun Fact: closest finish in top 3 series is .0004 in the 2018 Xfinity Series Opener. 😅

I was always a Hendrick fan since 2013 but after 2016, I kinda ignored Hendrick and only cared about Suarez since 2015. Then came trackhouse in 2021 and I’ve been team Trackhouse ever since. I love both Chastain and Suarez !

When Marks says 'we're a growing business' it sounds like '3rd charter incoming'. That would ease the pressure off Suarez and for bringing in SVG. Zilich is a long-term answer; no rush there. Not sure where that would leave Smith...
They will probably add an xfinity team and truck team to pipeline driver development. SVG will prob drive xfinity one more year full time and the part time cup car they have.

I’d say it’s a miss not having chastain in the top 10 you could make a good case with his performance at Daytona and coming back from a speeding penalty to get a top 10 at Atlanta
Suarez is one of the best intermediate and road course drivers currently and you can make a point that he’s good at Superspeedways but they are too unpredictable and he’s always at the wrong place at the wrong time. But he could improve in short tracks but he’s still alright.
Could trackhouse be in talks with honda. There actions would make alot of sense if so.
