- In 1948, Paul W. Klipsch acquired his first factory building, formerly the telephone exchange building for the Southwest Proving Grounds in Hope, Arkansas. The first Klipschorn built here is numbered 121. Today, the original factory is the Klipsch Museum. Jim Hunter, a long time Klipsch employee, walks us through the museum, part 3 of 4.
I'm totally enjoying this UA-cam video!!
I'm one of the few people who've had the pleasure of meeting Paul Klipsch, Actually I didn't just made him, ... he showed up to judge my senior dissertation. I graduated with an electronic engineering degree and my senior project, which was kind of like a PhD thesis in its presentation, was about the design theory of loudspeaker enclosures. I had contacted Paul to help me in my research. He sent me his private research papers.
Anyway, every time I travel from Georgia to Texas and go past Hope Arkansas, I want to stop at the Klipsch museum. Last time I came through it was sad to find out that the museum was closed. I read Paul has passed away, he probably wouldn't remember me anyway but I sure do him. I still have the letters you sent me, and his technical papers.
Very interesting. Would love to see the museum in person. Paul Klipsch truly on of my audio heroes.
Where did you get the picture of Paul and Rudy? Dad had one given to him by Paul himself at one of our stores. As far as I know, only a couple of those printed by Paul. I think we need to come and visit the museum. If interested, will add some fun stories to your collection of history and folklore. I knew Paul (through my dad) for years as a child, teens, 20s. Fast forward decades… Fred Klipsch and their humble abode are right up the street from me.
Be nice if you had parts 1 and 2 on the channel, huh?
No. It wouldn't.
LOL you're asking an aging bald hippy with a combover AND a ponytail?
Why does this video look like it's from the 80's?
Rebuild the speakers and rock the hood
