My favourite sign is in the middle of a moor in the UK. There is nothing near by. The sign says “ Do NOT throw stones at this notice” At the bottom of the pole is - of course- a pile of stones.
The five love languages, I identify with all of them! 😂 I love seeing Taters dinner prep, she should do a video with nothing but her recipes. Her noodles with fresh veggies sounds good.
We tend to do a lot of staple dinners since availability is often so limited. So lots of beans + rice + seasoning. Most of the videos I’ve seen by thru hikers talking about meals are waaaay to complicated to sustain.
The island before the power plant is really nice, I camped there. The gentle hum put me to sleep pretty fast. The asian carp are no joke, I got hit in the side of the head with one and almost knocked me out of the canoe!
How mush would you sell the canoe for when you are done? I can see driving down to explore SE Louisiana, giving you a ride somewhere and taking that canoe off you hands. We could also do a night in New Orleans if you like debaucherous civilization.
We don’t have a hard number since that’s so far away at this point. One other person down there was potentially interested in it since I guess this model of canoe isn’t as common down south. Best to email us when we’re down on the lower river
Extra weight - no hiker wine, bottled wine!!!!! Might be there already at the time of posting this video you are not liking the lake effect parts of the Mississippi, Lake Pepin is going to be a challenge for sure.
Next time you come to Minnesota, please don't use the stereotypical "Somali pirate" joke constantly. Minnesota has a very vibrant Somali immigrant community who have contributed greatly to our state's culture and economy.

Pepin actually worked out. After a rough bit at the top we were able to use our hand sail and move across quite well for once
