Mean comments for our Taters? OK, just give us their names and where they live and they will, as they say, "sleep with the beavers." Nuff said.😁 PS Love the tortoise photo. We need more tortoise content! Signed, Tortoise
I made this comment a long time ago, but I’m going to make it again; you two have chemistry that actors in a romcom would kill for. Such a pleasure to watch!
Love it! This has been so fun to watch and this one has been my favorite so far because this is my neck of the woods! I am so glad I found your channel & will be watching all the rest of your videos
Hey Peter, You guys definitely had me sold on the trip with your great videos and I ended up doing it about 4 years ago. Presently, I paddling the Missouri River and it’s nothing like doing the Mississippi. Big open water for over a 1000 miles!
Yea. We heard stories about people paddling on high water years and they were able to move significantly faster thanks to the current. But on the plus side we had a lot more beach camping opportunities
Back on the Missouri River tomorrow! Race you to the confluence. I only have about 1300 miles, think you have about 600. I’ll have to paddle a little faster!
My wife and I were just talking about leaving the boat tied up if you were doing the trip solo, but now I see even as a couple you still might have to leave the boat unsupervised. Paddle On!
It’s a known thing that people have had things stolen from their boat when unattended. Recommendation I’ve heard is always get someone to watch it or else hide it somewhere well out of sight
UA-cam doesn’t really allow us to post links sadly. Messages disappear with them. But it’s off Instagram and shows a beaver reaching over for a line of snacks
Not trusting anyone on a jet ski - I would concur; I’ve thought of bringing this topic up a couple of time: can a person be trusted if they don’t drink coffee ???
Thanks. Since we’re just passing through the areas and tend to mix with others in the same circumstance it’s really difficult to figure out place name pronunciations. As far as the life jackets we have kayaking pfds stowed right by the seat and put them on at need. That tends to be when things get more serious which is also when we aren’t taking the phones out for video and such
Actually! Never trust a section hiker is the rule. So which one of you is a section hiker. Matt be aware she's holding you back, sorry but have some wine.
I think you guys are worrying too much about your boat being stolen. Just get a chain and padlock and chain it up wherever. People leave boats chained up even in remote areas all the time. The chances of your boat being stolen are no greater than the chances of your car being stolen from a trailhead. It could happen, but probably won't.
It’s something that comes up a lot on the Fb group for this river trail and I’ve seen news stories about incidents. I think the gear is more at risk than the boats themselves but we also have a more expensive boat that’s a lot easier to haul away than the 70lb plastic : metal canoes you see chained up everywhere
Just a quick reminder that feedback and suggestions are always welcome but mean comments make Jen sad.

Seriously. I cry every time I hear that song. And sometimes when people put mean comments.
@@jenniferblackie2027 I hope you don't get any of those, but I guess some people just have an urge to hate. I feel sad for them.

Awe thanks ❤
I think the river itself knows your coming, where you are and tries it's best to be a gracious host .It enjoys your energy.

The sound that kept you awake was American toads singing.
Thanks! Wow that is amazing how loud that toad can be!
Here is Minnesota we call the frogs peepers.
After Taters Tuesday comes... JEN JULY! (If I'd thought of it sooner, we could have celebrated Jen June also.)
🎉 yay for Taters Tuesday! I am loving this journey you are on thanks for taking us along!
omg I'm giggling listening to Taters giggling 😂
I’m going to need a link to this beaver video. 😂
Went to college at St Cloud State and i can say for sure that the train bridge is much more dangerous than the rapids 😂
I ran across it with my cross country buddies in my youth. Good times.
Tons of options for cargo nets to lash your gear down.
I will have two of whatever taters is on. Three if they are small.
Long Live Taters Tuesday! Great Video cheers!
Gotta love that giggle!
This brings back some good memories from our trip back in 2011! Safe travels :)
Hey Peter,
You guys definitely had me sold on the trip with your great videos and I ended up doing it about 4 years ago. Presently, I paddling the Missouri River and it’s nothing like doing the Mississippi. Big open water for over a 1000 miles!
Last summer the water level was super low here in Central MN! That was quite challenging.
Yea. We heard stories about people paddling on high water years and they were able to move significantly faster thanks to the current. But on the plus side we had a lot more beach camping opportunities
In Whitewater, it’s the person in backs job to back paddle and slow you down. The person in front is in charge of keeping the boat straight
That noise Matt was a Sasquatch. Yeah, I know, hard to believe but when I broke camp the next day, all my beer had been drank 😂!
Back on the Missouri River tomorrow! Race you to the confluence. I only have about 1300 miles, think you have about 600. I’ll have to paddle a little faster!
Lmao totally subbed. I want to do this on a paddle board so bad. I've already taken a canoe from central NC to the ocean but this is next level.
Lol....love it! Good times!
Is there an ETA on the Taters giggle ringtone?
My wife and I were just talking about leaving the boat tied up if you were doing the trip solo, but now I see even as a couple you still might have to leave the boat unsupervised. Paddle On!

OMG, Tater’s giggles made me laugh so hard I almost cried! Good therapy.
hooray for surviving the day 😊 is there a link to that video?
Love.
Potato farms in that area. Guy loves to crop dust. Talented pilot
Quick question for you Matt. Where did Taters get the Red Eft Shirt ????
It’s a new design by Town Shirt
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes Thanks
Hey Y'all, glad no one died or got scratched up in the rapids !
We need to see the beaver video!
UA-cam doesn’t really allow us to post links sadly. Messages disappear with them. But it’s off Instagram and shows a beaver reaching over for a line of snacks
Was the beaver video the one of the rescued kit that created a dam in the hallway of his humans house using anything he could find?
No but that sounds cute too! The beaver was just eating snacks
@@jenniferblackie2027 ua-cam.com/video/mDCiW57ljY8/v-deo.html So cute!
Leadership inspiration.. Yea I Respect that 😂😂😂

I basically assume they’re a pod person if they don’t partake in the glorious morning liquid…
It's Sauk like saw with a k at the end. Unless of course Minnesotans pronounce it differently from Wisconsonites.
The noise is probably a frog. I've heard people in central MN pronounce Sauk as "Sock" and as "Solck". I was curious about your lifejacket situation.
Thanks. Since we’re just passing through the areas and tend to mix with others in the same circumstance it’s really difficult to figure out place name pronunciations.

Looking at those nachos made me feel hungry.
I’ve been missing them ever since
Most people on a float trip swim now and then to stay clean!
We assumed we’d do that more but most early stops have had too many mosquitos or it’s been an area where the water was mucky
✌😎
Those were frogs you heard. Glad no one died in the Rapids.
Yea the canoes there, you're in leave the keys in the car country
Tree frogs
American Toad
Tree frog call isn’t usually as long as what was on that recording & is a little higher pitched, so I’d put money on that being a toad, too
you could get an electric motor or some anabolic steroids may help also #dan duchaine

I think the use of the plural, "rapids", seems unnecessary ;-)
