    • @aussiebloke609
      @aussiebloke609 2 роки тому

      Remember, these cars don't have high ratio steering like modern cars...with no power steering, you need to have more turns lock to lock if you're going to have the strength to steer at all - 4 complete turns lock to lock (or more) was common back when. Also, high sidewalls means there's a fair bit of squirm when the steering wheel moves and it takes a moment for the tread to catch up. that's why you'll see him wind on some lock, hold it steady for a moment...and _then_ the car suddenly starts to corner a little too sharply and he has to catch it as it begins to slide. :-)

    I took my 97 Fairlane Concorde out on the track at Willowbank with a mob of hot hatches from the Renault Car Club - of course they all blew me off but the Concorde got voted as the best sounding car on the day.The six in the Concorde is only a few kW less than the V8, but because it's lighter it's actually got a better power/weight ratio than the V8 - mine has been dropped 2 inches and has a straight through 2.5 inch exhaust, and it does sound bloody beautiful at top revs (pity it's an auto). The head has been skimmed twice (common fault) so the compression ratio is up a little - combine that with the Tickford mods it's a cheap luxury car that's a real sleeper...I did take a couple of videos on the day, maybe I should put one on UA-cam?

      @@dinosshed you own a boat anchor my friend, ford cranks in holden 186 engines is nothing new, in the 1970s a ford 221 crank with a 186 rear crank flange was welded on the ass, what a boat anchor it was , whats next , your just fitted triple 2inch SUs and vw barrels, i suggest instead of messing with old junk that breaks down, is to buy a late model power plant , you will be amazed , smooth running, power 800hp turn key , factory warranty, no cam breaking , and feel REAL POWER, not some 186 with vw rods and pistons you crack me up ha ha ha please show me where the 265 beat a 202 at bathurst , or any major touring car title race, you won't find any because the 202 spanked your 265, the results don't lie, educate your self and look it up , i,m still laughing a fj with vw rods and pistons, no wounder it breaks down hahaaaaaaaaaa
