Stoker I found this same tarp on Amazon in a Camo with out the orange trim cost was $42.99. I have two on the way. Thanks for the heads up, as always be safe and stay Stoked.
Great review, Brother !!! I have that same version (Brown w/ orange trim), and an All-Orange one (for emergency situations, that I have in my vehicle - for signaling and shelter, like a bigger version of a VS-17 Panel). It also comes in a dark blue, a camo (woodland w/orange Free Soldier logos), and other versions with only 6 tie-outs (instead of the 19 on the one you ordered). It's a pretty multifunctional tarp, that due to the 19 tie-outs on the standard versions, can be configured in a multitude of ways (for survival, woodcraft/bushcraft, Scout events, waterproof covering for items, etc.) Keep up the great work !!!
New viewer to your channel. Appreciate the video as I found the review honest, straightforward, and to the point. I have this same brand tarp, but a couple variations on it. I look forward to putting this piece of equipment to the test. I have never hammock camped and seen some videos where they used it as a rainfly over them.. may try that.
Hi! Just had my first night in a hammock with this tarp. Dry but windy night 3C (38F?) I was confused about the 4 short ropes that came with it, but had my spare continuous ridgeline. Apart of that it is a good buy for the price.
I had a question floating around in a canoe forum, for recommended tarps. I got a reply from ccs sewing. The problem with tarps. They may be all 70 or 210 denier. But no one volunteers the tear strength. It varies from 3.5 pounds to 12.5 pounds. I had a hennesse hex tarp only make it a few days, till stitches popped and maybe 4.months. Putting up and down a couple days a week.
I like the look and cost of that Stoker. If the orange perimeter started to bother me I'd probably re-color it some way. Can I ask what hatchet you use out in the bush ? I'm thinking a small Gransfors
Soon as I seen that orange trim i didn't care for that - the logo doesn't chap me though - I'm wanting a tarp for back packing camping , hammock etc... Thanks again Mr stoked
I tested this out when it was raining and snowing..never leaked, durable, dries fast..but it could have 4 more stakes included in the bag ..great tarp though.
Your review helped me but in an unexpected way. Seeing how huge it was in the bag made me realize it's just too bulky for my day hiking needs. Thanks anyway.
Cool video brother. I hear you on all the compliments that you are giving it. What would you say about the durability of it? Do you think it would stand up to nasty weather, like harsh winds? I trust your opinion, and my finger is on the trigger aimed at that buy now button on amazon.
@@STOKERMATIC Thank you for being straight with me. I believe you are right, and it the right weather you would see where that other $50 bucks went real quick.
I agree 100%...no bright colors on earth tones, it defeat the purpose. I hated the old Fieldline bags sold by Walmart for the same reason, they put bright red webbing in a few spots and red zipper pulls on a OD green shoulder bag...freaking gross!
I use the Gold Armour 10 x 12... it's green with black tieouts....I use it for my hammock and I can do ground setups with it as well. And at $34 on Amazon it doesn't break the bank.
Free Soldier and Chill Gorilla are the best budget silnylon tarps out there. Good quality and perfect for people getting into Bushcraft and Survival. I'm not a fan of the orange trim either. Subdued is the way to go.
@@STOKERMATIC I have an Aqua Quest 10x10 camo tarp and it's awesome. I have the Safari series which is their midweight tarp, then they have the Defender series which is their heavyweight tarp.
And Free Soldier even put their emblem on the camo tarp in a bright orange...jeez, and the dark blue tarp doesn't have anything on it...its just all dark blue ,go figure, the tarp that's not camo or earthen color doesn't have any hunter orange on it but the camo and earthen color tarps do...thats stupid, whoever thought of that should be fired, they don't know what the hell they're doing, nor do they know what people want.
I’ve been using this tarp for several months. It has never failed me. Great tarp and very affordable.

Nice!!
Solid set ups! I dig he plow point pitch also. Thanks!
Heck yeah!

I just bought this tarp in Woodland camo. I am looking forward to using it.
Hey Stokerman, thanks for the info. Just ordered one!! Definitely trust your recommendations
Hope you enjoy it!
This must of been before I was a scriber stoker. I got one of these about a year and a half ago, it had been pretty awesome for me! Great video.
Mines held up good too!

Just got mine thanks for the heads up on this
I just ordered this on your recommendation and the reviews.
Thanks for the video brown or black out the orange and advertisement I totally agree with you!!!
Awesome!

your a very wise young man .,I can say that now I am almost 58...lol but seriously I wish there more ppl like you..had to sub.thanks
lol - right on!
What kind of knot do you use for those two sections of paracord?

Check out aquaquestwaterproof.com - their defender is strong, and backed by a great warranty.
Really appreciated this review, I one on the way!
Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome Stoker.
I asked you to review and here it is much love
Doing what I can!
Currently use military surplus tarpaulins. Got several for free. Also purchased one. This product looks of good use.
I dig it!
Better than my 3x3 DD tarp, my DD tarp didn't last a single trip where this one is built proof
Looks nice, I'll check them out. I saw someone in the comment found a camouflage one. I usually run a Snugpak brand.
Right on Louie - just picked up one that’s a little heavier, used it out in the field, enjoyed it.
I own this tarp. I highly recommended it
Thanks!❤
Iv been looking to get this so I can take this heavy tarp put of my bugout bag is it pretty lightweight because that's why I'm looking to get it
Wait for todays video!
@@STOKERMATIC definitely

where did you find that tarp?
Amazon.
Soon as I seen that orange trim i didn't care for that - the logo doesn't chap me though - I'm wanting a tarp for back packing camping , hammock etc... Thanks again Mr stoked
Aqua quest - it’s a great one and subdued.
@@STOKERMATIC I'll chk them out , thanks sir 👍
I live in mine no complaints
I tested this out when it was raining and snowing..never leaked, durable, dries fast..but it could have 4 more stakes included in the bag ..great tarp though.
Old School Woodland Camouflage or Classic ARVN Tiger Stripe would make it even stokier.
Tiger stripes are always awesome!
My favorite tarp as well. If Stokermatic endorses it then I (somehow) made a excellent choice.
I dig it!
Have to check them out . A bit cheaper than most 3 by 3’s . May be the weight issue . They can keep the Orange though. Thanks for showing it
It's not bad, it's light...but it has orange. lol
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I trust you.
I'll order one.
Maybe two.
It’s still going strong!
great tarp I have one but what I want to know where you got the rocking shits. I could LARP all day in moms basement wearing it.
Don’t even know where that one was from
I just ordered this tarp base on the good reviews like yours, but now it looks like they changed the tarp completely.
I’m sure it’ll serve you well
Looks perfect for a minimalist bug out bag, and not Camping for fun. The fact that it wasn't a "freebie" says something
Not super duper ultra light but not too bad.
Your review helped me but in an unexpected way. Seeing how huge it was in the bag made me realize it's just too bulky for my day hiking needs. Thanks anyway.
Got one

Brian, it would but the aqua quest is more durable IMO.

+1 I have the black version. 33 tie-outs is nice.
Nice!!
No knocks on your tarp. It's a very capable one. I do, however, have the same size tarp by DD Hammocks. They compare very similarly.
Which one is better?

May have to check out Chill Gorilla. Picked up a new one - Aqua something. A little heavier duty - digging it so far.

Torn between this and aqua quest. This is poly so shouldn't stretch as much.
I have both. Like both. Like the aqua quest a touch better. It is heavier but more durable
I do not like de orange color I agree w you
Otherwise it’s a great tarp!
That thing looks Stoke AF
