Hey guys. I know I’m a day late lol but sadly I’ve been busy at work. Glad you found the leak before it ruined lottie’s beautiful make over. She looks so homely and really inviting. Also. In the bedroom to finish off perhaps use some ub225 from eurocell (take a look on line) It’s like a foam cladding board you can cut to appropriate shape and finish edges with (or without) silicone as it’s inside it’s up to you. Should look pretty ace.

17:15 I think it would look good with some thin pieces on a diagonal with some led lights behind if you can get power there. You both have done a wicked job cant wait to see you on the road

You could put fake foliage along the roof edge van looks lovely 😊

Or prayer flags, the Buddhist monk style ones.
I like the idea of foliage though! Entwined with micro fairy lights.
Photos of your travels pinned along?
Lottie looks great! Home sweet home!

Awesome ideas, I'll have to try a few of them out. I've seen a few people use foliage really nicely but I don't think it really goes with out design. Photos or flags could be a win 👏👏😁

Hey guys. Just a tip for fiberglass if you have to patch in the future. I’ve done quite a bit of fiberglass work over the years and the trick is rather than use the thick sheet as it comes in the kit laying it down and coating with resin. You’ll get a better stronger repair if you sand the surface and then take the fiberglass sheet and separate the layers and spreading the fibers slightly then building up the layers like a collage thin layers of fiberglass mat or chopped bits resin then another thin layer or more chopped bits and so on to build it up. And you could also top with a thin layer of what’s known in the car audio world as milkshake which is a mix of shredded fiberglass Matt, fiberglass filler and resin mixed together to a milkshake type consistency then it can be poured over and brushed over like paint. Also something to look into is there is waterproof roofing paint out there that is like a rubberised paint that they use to seal old warehouse roofs etc you just paint it on and once it’s cured it’s like a layer of rubber.

Since you're clearly knowledgeable .. would you say that mixing paint in with the resin compromises the strength at all ? I mess about with poly resin (ie. bondo) and colour, but I'm only doing for art-sake.

Big job I know but I'd put a complete patch over the whole roof, you've done a fab job on your build , I like your paper gives a change to the eye from wood and just paint .

That definitely a good call, it was the original plan. It just costs a fortune in resin.

was your roof a plywood roof originally (outside) or something light weight plastic? My Iveco has llight weight plastic roof and Im thinking how to strengthen it, maybe a layer of fiber glass or something...

Hi guys. Great video. Have you got the internal and external dimensions of the van including the space above the cabin?

Hi there :) yes we made a video with every single dimension and measurement of our build. ua-cam.com/video/kX-jcXgL6es/v-deo.html. This is our complete design and was our blue print for the build

Hi. I missed that video as I know SketchUp and thought it was only about how to model in it 😊. Unless I missed it you haven't mentioned the overall length and height. Can you please share theses? I am trying to decide which van potentially would be the best choice for me in the future. One of the concern is overall height.
I like the idea of having bed about the cabin but what is it like to sleep in such a confined space especially together?

So we are roughly 3m high from the outside to the top, inside the box that's 2.3m floor to ceiling. The full vehicle is 6m long, inside the box floor space is 4 m front to back. The space is slightly confined but we love having the separate bedroom area. And our mattress is very thick so there is definitely potential for more head room than we have. We also have insulated with 50mm so going for different insulation would save space again
