Properly installed high quality wedge anchors in good concrete will not fail. I’ve installed 6 2 post hoists over 20 years with no failures at all.

By the look of the anchor it was installed after the concrete was poured also looks like it wasn't installed with any concrete anchor glue.

@@angelcelis9090yeah that is how wedge anchors are installed the hole must be drilled properly to begin with and well cleaned before installation too many people drill these holes with regular hammer drills and a 3/4 inch bit in the hole ends up getting bigger than its supposed to be which allows wedge acres to fail

@@throttlethumb150 the best way to do an anchor is to do it while the concrete is still wet but if you are installing after the concrete pour it’s better to use concrete anchor adhesive cause this is sketch af.

Ive had wedge anchors fail numerous times and had lift install companies repair the issue several times on the last install one of my customers said about using chemical anchor with his help i replaced all of the anchors in all my lifts and highly recommended using them more then wedge anchors

The original video showed it was loose and not holding properly. I epoxied threaded rod into the concrete instead of wedge anchors. Wedge anchors suck.

To remove a wedge anchor add water or cutting solution to the hole. Use a mandril attachment to spin the stud in the hole. The Expansion clips will wear a groove in the cone to prevent them from further expanding down the cone. The anchor and clips can then be withdrawn with minimal force. The hole was likely over sized or concrete to soft. A sleeve anchor or epoxy are more forgiving of these issues.

I wouldnt use wedge anchors to fix down a car ramp I would be looking for making the floor an integral part of the ramp, as you sais "a chemical bond" and that goes deep on the concrete.

So what happens if you epoxy vedge anchors?
Also what is the life of the epoxy/chemical anchors, do they lose strength over time, are they susceptible to chemical degradation by oil, fuel etc.?

This post is dumb wedge anchors work OK but not perfect epoxy is worst also don't pull the anchor if it was drilled like it was supposed to be u just hammer it it passed the slab and start again with whatever anchor of ur Choice my personal choice is a drive anchor

What makes sense of your sentence is: "This post is dumb wedge anchors". And I agree to that, wedge anchors are dumb. You can never guarantee that they will bite into something that has different types of rocks in it!

Nonsense of a video. You can do that to any bolt and you will begin to eventually reduce its durability. Bolts/anchors onky work well considering the type of surface they're embeded into. Its not rocket science. Basic engineering
