Yeah i ended up tearing the car apart 3 times because multiple drains where clogged and the sunroof case was leaking after all drains where free flowing. Major pain in the ass drying the foam under the carpet…
@@ThePok3monssorry for the late reply. The front seats have a bolt on each corner, i believe its a T45 bolt. remove them, then disconnect the harness. After that you can pull the seats out. Under the steering wheel remove the plastic panel, its a few screws. On the side of the center console You slide off this long carpet covered panel, theres a single bolt behind that. After that you can pull the carpet up, use a shop vac and sort of mash the nozle into the buttom foam and suck up as much water as possible, then the foam blocks under it you do the same and i removed mine and let them sit in the sun for a day. I also left the doors open with a huge shop fan and used clamps to hold the carpet up and dried it all day
@@Bimmerdude999 just had atmospheric rain they called it where im at... had about 3 plus inches of water in my rear passenger footwell and driver side rear footwell was also wet and starting to pool. i think my underseat subwoofer might be fucked it was definetly underwater, not sure but i pulled fuses for soundsystem for now. my question is. where do you think my leak would be coming from. front carpets are bone dry. and this happened over night while car wasnt moving. had to use a bucket to get water out.... u think my subs are fucked also?
Been searching everywhere for this specific issue and no one solved my problem. It was the clogged drains under the brake reservoir, and the windshield seal. Thank you for your help!
I've got a e61 with a sunroof leak. Checked all the drains and everything seemed fine but still leaking. Later on I had the rear hood lining down and the roof insulation was hanging down into the sunroof drains and when the sunroof was open would lift up the insulation when I was checking the drains.
I have a E61 wagon with a panoramic sunroof and water leaks into the rear floorwell on the drivers side. But the wagon doesnt have the same drains as the sedan -any idea where the drain is?
Keep in mind just because the rear floorwell is flooding doesn’t mean its coming from the sunroof area. You need to check the drains in the front like the video i showed. In my case when my car was leaking the back floor board was flooding but the water was coming in all the way from the drain under the master cylinder! Water can be deceptive
Yeah man its very strange. I thought it was the clear coat so i tried buffing it out on a small spot but no, it turns out the paint UNDER the clear coat cracks! So its basically not fixable besides a new paint job 😩
Been dealing with this for years flex seal didn’t fix my cracked cases car is an absolute headache I don’t have a solution cracked cases on both sides and now front hoses are leaking cleaned twice already car is just a shitshow to deal with
A fellow e60 owner living the damp life.
