- Why is this beautiful lab jumping for joy? It’s because she’s now part of the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office family as our new firearms K-9!
Upon Winnie’s adoption being finalized last Tuesday, she immediately started her training with the CCSO K-9 Unit. She will continue her training for the next six weeks as she works with her handler to become well-versed with odors indicative of firearms.
In this video, Sgt. Matt Anderson and Sgt. Mike DeRosa, with the Charleston County Aviation Authority’s K-9 Unit, train Winnie at the Charleston International Airport.
A big thank you to K2 Kennels who donated Winnie to our agency. ❤️ Welcome to the CCSO Family, Winnie!
Winnie, you are so beautiful!! Congratulations!
Welcome to the force Winnie, Health and happiness to you and your partner

She'll be great with kids in school, what I noticed is the shepherd had no problem getting my whole arm in his mighty mouth while my labs have a much smaller bite lol. Either one would protect me to the death. (you should have seen the ancient shepherd protect me from the wild turkeys, I thought a bear had awakened lol.) (I've been saved from rabbits, squirrels, even deer) seriously though my lab woke me up with ferocious barking one night at a hotel, I just saw a hand closing the door, might have saved my life.
Well done officer Winnie. Does she live with her partner
