This was made 7 months ago purely in the love of this amazing combo, and now it means so much more than that. Thank you everyone for your heartfelt comments.
He will forever be missed and in our hearts.
Please remember him while he was alive, not his tragic passing on.

This is just a small tribute i made for my favourite horse and rider combo!
Eric Lamaze and Hickstead.
They are both such big inspirations to me and I hope to be as good as Eric some day!
Hickstead is my favourite horse in the world (second next to my own pony of course) and getting to watch him compete is such an honor!

I must say 'thank you' for making such a beautiful video. It really showed their bond (Eric's and Hickstead's). We don't know why such tragic things happen, but we can be comforted by the fact that he died doing what he loved. Rest in peace, Hickstead. You will be greatly missed and NEVER forgotten.

Hickstead is the best horse ever! He is my biggest idol, I just love him. He jumps so high and fine and is so beautiful and look at. I love the film looks at it every day!

Hickstead was truly a great champion! He changed the world of showjumping as everyone knew it. He will forever be remembered by all equine athletes today. Eric and Hickstead truly inspired people each and every day. I know he inspired me with that noble and honest horse. Rest in peace forever Hickstead. You inspired a whole new nation of showjumpers. You left this earth with a huge hoofprint on it and 1,000's hearts. Love you Hickstead.

I saw Hick in real life few times when you see him jumping live you will understand how great this horse. A great horse and great rider, its hard to replace a top horse so it is impossible to replace Hick.

Hickstead- A name to remember always
I'm not gonna pretend that I knew everything about this horse - to be honest, I didn't know who he was until today. But it doesn't make it all better. Hickstead died a tradgical death, and I don't know what Eric is going trough. But I do know how it feels to loose someone you love, and I feel very bad for him and Hickstead. May he rest in peace. -3

@fierceinthefire He passed away due to a heart attack after his round during a World Cup event in Verona.
The horse was difficult in the beginning, because he was a fighter and not yet ready to cooperate. The day he decided to team up with Eric their career exploded. They won all the biggest events in the world, they became number one together
He knew he was the best, and like all superstars he had a fiery spirit, and that made him fight like a lion in the ring.
That is what he did up to the last minute, and his death is that of a warrior.
His generous heart failed him at the end of the course

he loved him, i am sure he did! I didnt say he dont love his horse.
But love for money is bigger... And btw i specialize myself in horses..
I know evrything about them i got onmyself 4 horses..
And none of them died at the age of 14! NONE The thing that hickstead had was heartfailure... heartfailures are seen frequently in those sports... So think twice
btw do you still think the americans are in irak to enforce peace? Think about things

Be rational, in this perspective horsebackriding isnt a sport anymore but something that
earns a lot of money.. A horse of that age have to be healthy.. Think twice and you will know that hickstead
died for money! Its hard, i hate it, but it is... :(
