Homage To Hickstead: 'We Will Never Forget'

Hope everyone's doing okay.
So, as some of you knew, I had been working on a tribute to Hickstead that sadly passed away last November.
I started this video I don't know how many times this past week but it just never felt right - because of the music, the clips that didn't match together as I wanted to honour Hickstead as he deserved. Then I realized I was just never capable of it - when I managed to finish it, I just had to accept that.
This was a very difficult video for me to make, if not THE most difficult. I've never done a tribute in my video experience until now. I cried while I was making it. I could barely see what I was doing at some points, and I'm crying right now while I'm writing this because I feel like a failure, and I'm not ashamed to say it. Hickstead deserved so much more. It's harsh. But anyways.
My heart also goes to Eric Lamaze and the people whose lives were touched by this horse. They lost a great friend and partner.
Rest in peace, Hickstead. Our hearts are with you. I hope you are happy and that you like this video wherever you are :')

We will never forget what you did, what you've won, and who you were.
~As for Eric Lamaze, stay strong. we know you will not have another horse like Hickstead.... but ride. stay riding. He would want that.
It is over a much years after Hickstead passed away but I stil miss him he was rhe best jumping horse in the world its still hard to belive that this strong horse had to sey goodbye to us. I remember when I heard news I was so upset I was crying all days. I still missing him and if this was very old but atill without him its harder

Honestly the best video I have ever watched, seen so many tributes to this wonderful horse over the last few weeks but I think this one is the best, it really captures how utterly sensational he was. We'll never see the likes of him again. R.I.P Hickstead
I'm in tears. This was such a beautiful tribute to such an amazing horse. It still hurts, even after these years, to know that he's gone. I believe him to be one of the best show jumpers of all time. Rest in peace, Hickstead. You will always be greatly missed.

It is impossible to do justice to these great horses when you make a video tribute. But madam, you damn well got as close as it is possible to. That was so beautiful, I had chills running up and down my spine and tears instantly sprang to my eyes. Dear lady, I take my hat off to you.

What a horrible loss, a 14/15 year old horse, a grand prix jumper that took horse of the year with the best rider in the world, passed away

what a horse Hickstead was. He was such an Amazing horse to watch and seeing him compete. I Remember when i saw him jump his last jump at a show,and when i heard he did i was so upset i was crying for hours as watching his shows back and fourth. He left a Hoofprint in my heart. he will always be my favorite Show jumper
Imagine what I saw,I saw his last moments alive sitting in the stands ,I cried so much ,I have all of the Breyer models and even made Customs of Hickstead...my idols
Thank you everyone for your support. It means the WORLD to me, and I'm sure it's meaning the world to Hickstead aswell. I bet he is galloping and jumping all the way on a beautiful green field up in the skies. :)
It's been another year, such a special year with all of you, and you've never stopped supporting all the way. I don't know how I can thank you enough except from writing but I hope you understand how much you all mean to me!

finally a tribute, that dosn't show his death! it's about his life! and how great he really was! How people gave him standing ovations, even before his rounds, how much he is loved by not just Eric but the people too! How great and amazing this horse is!!! im happy he was Canadian :) I cried when he died though he is my all time favourite horse and didn't deserve to die so soon :( but im glad the way he died is doing what he loved to do

Hickstead and Eric Lamaze are one of my two favourite horse and rider teams ever (the other is Stacy Westfall and Wizards Baby Doll) and it was terrible to see this happen. RIP Hickstead. :'(

1 hour after Hickstead has gone, the first videos were uploaded.. Many People made money with the death of this wonderful horse... It's like a contest.. who is the first, who has the best video!!

Hickstead was one of the champions of all horses. His owner was grateful for his existence, and Hickstead, in return was his owner's rock. Amazing bond.

Great video. much better at capturing the inspiration he left behind then any other tribute i've seen so far.
The reason why I love this video so much is because we don't see his death. We see him alive like we need to remember him. After all this time we need to remember Hickstead as the beauty that he was.
