During the 1930s Germany motorised and mechanized infantry came into being, organized as part of a ‘combined arms’ formation. The term Panzergrenadier came about in 1942, classifying all the mechanised and motorised units as armored units instead of infantry.

The truck stays behind while you charge into enemy trucks..

I showed this Video to my teacher, cause he didnt know how to discribe Panzergrenadiere, and he was very happy about it. So you made on more guy happy with your videos:)
No no no no dont jump
Why does your course requires your teacher to describe what a PanzerGrenadier is? I mean, while common knowledge for history buffs, it is rather specific for a history, which no doubt has to deal with a ton other things apart from WW II.
You should have screamed at him DRAN! DRAUF! DRÜBER! 😂
WHat kind of school do you visit where they teach details about certain army units? A militay school probably...otherwise this just sounds silly. Why would you need to learn what a Panzergrenadier is on a normal school? Either your story is fishy or your school is.^^

GOTT DEMM HANZ!
Yeah, they would be kidding. Riding in military combat vehicles is NOT comfy. Not in the 1930’s and 40’s and not today either. Wooden benches or steel seats with no padding and almost no suspension to absorb vibrations. Every bump and bounce is felt.
@@totallyfrozen the context is that the truck is STOPPED because of heavy rainfall and boy oh boy is it more comfortable to sit in a truck than walking in the muddy and wet terrain

Thanks for this, I've always wondered what was the difference between mechanized and motorized infantry.
You ever look at someone’s comment and think:
“I wish I thought of that.”
this is such a great video - concise, informative,, and entertaining, packs great information in a narrow window to prevent boredom. Really needs to be used in the classroom.
Nowadays the role of the Panzergrenadiere in the Bundeswehr is to destroy enemy tanks with the Panzerfaust or Milan or just weaken the enemy's cover with the light tank Marder or Puma. They often work together with the Jägertruppe. My former unit. Which is basically light infantry specialised on close combat
They're mechanised infantry, considered to be the most versatile through their combination of lehtality, mobility and protection.

True . These Germans were used by politics and the people sipping their wine didn’t deserve such a warlike brave army.

“Es ist kein Mensch, es ist kein Tier, es ist ein Panzergrenadier!”
That’s a little funny sentence in German, some Soldiers still say today, it means (more ore less),
“"It's not a human, it's not an animal, it's a Panzergrenadier!".
In German it’s funny, because it rhymes. Greetings from Germany!
Wow the animation on this channel just keeps getting better
In the Bundeswehr today we also have infantery called "Panzergrenadiere".
There is a saying when they want to show they are the toughest in the army. "Es ist kein Mensch, es ist kein Tier, es ist ein Panzergrenadier!"
"It's not a man, it's not a beast, it's a tank grenadier!"

KILLEKIRAHVI Good explanation, thanks for that
Research Maneuver warfare, that's basically what "Blitzkrieg" was. There's this misconception that "'Blitzkrieg" was this brand new idea, never seen before on the battlefield. It's a very old tactic, the Germans during World War 2 were just the first to incorporate such tactics with modern equipment (tanks, half-tracks, tanks, aircraft, etc). Fun fact, most Heer units walked during the war, and the Germans had more horses than trucks.
The only "true" mechanized/motorized army was the British, because it was so small (in comparison to rest of Europe and the United States) they were able to motorize almost the entire army.
he did
As a ww2 buff I know almost everything u post...but something about the animation and the info just sits so well.

Simple History, will you do a video about Allied mechanize infantry vehicles?
Yeah when it came to Stalingrad the Germans could not keep up, plus their engines couldn’t be supplied with gas/ oil… when it came down to it Germans couldn’t keep up with Russia’s continuously reinforced Red Army.

It might be interesting to do one on terrorists, might be cool to do one on the Taliban or Al-Qaeda
Evan Nesbitt Do they incite terror among a civilian population for the sake of political change? Yes. By definition they are terrorists. Do they bomb civilian only targets to kill as many civilians as possible? Yes. By practical modern definitions they are terrorists. Are they classed as terrorists by international police forces and counter terrorism agencies? Yes. The IRA are terrorists.
@@evannesbitt7852 The IRA are terrorist. As are most "revolutionaries."

My notification is so late...
2:42 The 'Stummel' howitzer on the Hanomag was intended only for infantry support, not for engaging tanks. These guns would've been too low velocity to fire effective AP rounds, and while they may have been equipped with a small number of HEAT rounds, their intended role was attacking infantry, and structures. They wouldn't have seen much action against tanks.
When the StuG IIIs were upgraded to 7.5cm KwK 40s ('long-barrel 75s') and redesignated as 'Ausf. F', rather than scrap them, the short-barreled 7.5cm KwK 37s ('short-barrel 75s') were mounted to a variety of mechanised and motorised vehicles such as SdKfz 234s and SdKfz 251s. A decent number of SdKfz 251s were outfitted with these howitzers, and were re-designated SdKfz 251/9. In terms of organisation, these were typically used as company-level infantry support guns in mechanised infantry companies, and were utilised in a similar manner to the StuG assault guns. They were placed in 'schwerer' (heavy) platoons, which consisted of fire support assets such as mortar sections, the aforementioned SdKfz 251/9 'Stummels', as well as SdKfz 251/2 mortar carriers, which mounted the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 mortar.
2:58 The Sturmgeschütz (literally, 'assault gun') was always intended primarily for infantry support. They were upgraded with longer cannons so that they _could_ effectively engage enemy armour, but their purpose was always to support the infantry against any variety of threats; other infantry, occupied structures, and yes when the situation called for it, enemy tanks. They didn't have to rely on the Sturmgeschütz 'instead', because they'd been relying on the Sturmgeschütz for the entire war.
0:10 The infantry couldn't follow a tank that was going 5 mph really
The infantry were often bogged down by the environment as well as the enemy’s fire forcing them into cover. Tanks can afford to take limitless amounts of small arms fire, infantryman on the other hand are rather poor shields.
As always Another great video, by another great channel! Good job you guys! I have been here since you were on 24k!
