I made this bread with my new Kitchen-aid mixer and followed your directions and video while I made it, and this loaf was perfect and tasted just like any bread I could buy in a bakery. The loaf was so soft and sliced like a dream. I let it cool completely and wrapped it in pure linen and put it my cake dome. Thank you for a perfect demonstration!!!…from Texas

I made a mistake and added 2 cups of milk to this recipe. It turned out to be the most wonderful mistake I could have made because it turned out to be the best loaf of bread I've ever made! Very moist and delicious.

Thanks for the video. I’ve an old guy who’s been making bread like my Mother taught me 60 years ago and have always hand kneeled it. I just was given a Kitchen Aid mixer and thought I’d try to make it the modern way.

I watched another video for dutch oven style and it was a nightmare to mix the dough using the dough hook, mixing it first with the beater and THEN switching to the dough hook to knead makes SO much more sense. Thank you! Can't wait to try this recipe for loaf style.

So glad to have found this video. So many other videos on here either use scales to measure ingredients (which the average person does not have) or they use metric measurements which make no sense to those in the USA.
Addendum: I have tried this recipe now 3x and each time it turned out perfectly. I do however proof in a regular oven and not the microwave. At the beginning of mixing I set oven temp to 180F and once temperature is reached I immediately shut off the oven off. By the time all the mixing is done, it's the perfect temp inside for proofing.

scales are cheap, and metric is perfect for cooking.... you can recreate, exactly, recipes over and over

To say that i am pleased with my kitchenaid artisan is an understatement!! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxV-4_UFTAJEegRY8I2jrpCEthOr39izrZ I have had it for 3 months now, and i wonder how i baked without it!! It has plenty of power, it is easy to use, is very secure on your counter and has a new type of splash guard that is wonderful. With all the color options, you can find one that will look beautiful on your counter. This machine comes with a deep 5qt bowl that locks into its base for secure mixing, so you never have to worry that the bowl will "spin away" while you move away from the machine. It can handle the lightest whipped cream or the heaviest bread dough with ease. There are only two drawbacks to this machine, and they are minor. One, it only comes with one bowl, and secondly, you have to be careful not to overbeat some batters. This machine is strong. If you like to bake, and you buy anything but a kitchenaid, you will probably be disappointed!

The time has come again to start making bread at home... About 2 weeks ago I seen a loaf of bread at safeway for $10 (not even gluten free type). Then 4 days ago was shopping an seen another for $12 (it was a special type but still thats crazy) Overall i think a loaf is averaging 7 bucks a loaf.. im not sure because i make at home now. I love her recipe!! Kitchen aid is worth the investment. I basically paid it off in 6 weeks. Went to coop grocery and they are selling 6 small muffins for 7 bucks. Start baking everyone, the prices wont drop until people refuse to pay those prices.I make breads, muffins and cakes with my kitchen aid. I also make chocolaty puff wheat squares but dont need kitchen aid for that, very quick and easy to make that choco treat for the family. From Canada

Just made this, my first time making bread. Super good everyone loves it. I didn’t have any bread flour so I used all purpose, it came out a little dense, but I think it might be the pan I used. I bought the Kitchenaid mixer to make bread because I have bad hands and couldn't knead it ,I looked on youtube to find out how to make it in this mixer came across your video and now my bread turns out perfect.
The only thing for me not sure if others had the same problem (like I said I have bad hands) is after I was done I couldn't twist the bowl off the mixer ,I guess it was from the force of the dough going around lol ,anyway now what I do is put a little lard on the base where the bowl tightens and it comes off easier.

I've made this recipe multiple times and I really like how easy it is. 1 thing I've noticed with mine is after I get done kneading it my dough ball is still a little gooey and doesn't all stick to the paddle like hers. Should I add even more flour? I'm currently adding the 2 and a half cups and then and additional half a cup through the mixing till it peels from sides of bowl.

What a great tutorial. I now know what I have been doing wrong. Too many times people (with all good intentions) leave out information/strips that is important. Looking forward yo having another go. But I have a question please. Does the microwave have a special setting for proving?

    • @RenatusPhoenix19
      @RenatusPhoenix19 7 років тому +3

Proofing in the microwave. She needs a warm place (no draft) to aid in the proofing process. You don't turn it on. Some people use a corner or shelf that that doesn't get drafty. The microwave is a good option because the door is closed and eliminates any draft. You could just as well use a stove, that hasn't been on recently.

I told you instructions pretty exactly what is the first time I have made bread using a stand mixer it rolls, but it did not rise nearly as high as yours did so I'm letting approve a little bit more and then I'm gonna put it in the oven and just go with whatever I get but I like the way you did the bread Dell also my yeast was dated as expiring this month, so is it OK to use the yeast? If it's you use it in the last month it's good for.

First mistake, I added two cups of milk then realized what I did so I added an extra tablespoon of butter, an extra tablespoon of sugar and flour, a little at a time until it pulled away from the bowl. BUT... after I proofed it the second time in the bread pans, and it rose nicely, it deflated when I removed it from the proofing drawer...lol. I was tempted to removed it and knead it again but I didn't have time. Any suggestions (from anyone) what I did wrong?

I came to your video because I am considering purchasing a KitchenAid stand mixer like you have, but there are so many KitchenAid models with different watts, and I am not sure what wattage can handle bread dough. What is the wattage of yours?

Is it the exact same process for 100% wholewheat bread?

I just found the same rolling pin at a thrift store! I love it, but there's no branding on it that I can see. Do you know who it's made by?

Trying to make sure, but what is the max flour for this recipe? I started with the 2 1/2 cups, added 1 1/2 cups more and then maybe less than a half a cup spoonful by spoonful-granted you are watching for the dough to pull away, but just didn’t want to use more than I should.
