brett gelmans such an underrated actor. He is basically a main character now in season 4 but still gets little recognition and pay compared to other characters
Then again the other actors get a pay increase per season so he hasn't been there as long as the others. But yes he is amazing and hands down one of my favorite characters this season
He's definitely underrated and a major component of Stranger Things' appeal. Especially recently in season 4 his character was relied upon heavily to progress the plot, which I'm happy about.

I think Murray was written as an extremely intuitive individual who can read people very well and he's also spent his whole life searching for answers and has almost earned his spot in this crew of finding the answers, and that's why he is the most badass character really.
The fact that he can "read" Nancy and Jonathan just from a day spent with them show that he is actually a good mind-reader/psycologist too, and from the fact that he took down a government lab with just a recording shows that he is actually quite intelligent and maybe a genius as well despite his crazy woozing appearance
When he was negotiating with Yuri tied to the pole and said "20k.. 22.. 25.... alright. Looks like we've got our selves a MORON!" on of the funniest things all season.
