Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. It is the first installment in the Predator franchise. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a technologically advanced alien who stalks and hunts them down.
Predator was written in 1984 under the working title of Hunter. Filming ran from March to June 1986 with creature effects devised by Stan Winston; the budget was around $15 million. 20th Century Fox released the film on June 12, 1987, in the United States, where it grossed $98.3 million. Initial reviews were mixed, but the film has since been reappraised as a classic of the action genre.
The success of Predator spawned a media franchise of films, novels, comic books, video games, and toys. It spawned three direct sequels: Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018), and an upcoming installment in preproduction. A crossover with the Alien franchise produced the Alien vs. Predator films, which include Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

The Predator franchise doesn’t need a hybrid or a subspecies or a desire for Down syndrome. The original Predator was perfect. Just go with that and build a bad ass storyline. That’s why the first two films did so well.

I wish the Hollywood writers were still on strike. The first "Predator" movie and "Predators" were cheesy because a gatling gun can only be mounted on a vehicle since it requires one or two car batteries to power it. When gatling guns, flame throwers, or chainsaws are used as infantry weapons then the movie/TV show was written for people that play video games. When the Predators were taking one of their dead, that was killed fighting aliens, onto the ship are we supposed to believe they wouldn't scan the body first to make sure it wasn't infected with an alien embryo? A Predator on a wooden ship is the same plot as "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" with the hack writers replacing a vampire with a Predator. A wooden ship is small and how will the crew not notice a giant alien skinning the crew in the cramped confines of a wooden ship? At least in the "Alien" movie the spaceship was big enough to give the alien plenty of places to hide. Predators VS Vikings is just a remake of the Outlander movie. In "Outlander" during the reign of the Vikings, Kainan, a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator. Royce didn't become a human Predator in the "Predators" movie but this happened later in the Predators: Preserve the Game sequel comic. Having lived together with Isabella on the Game Preserve Planet for several months, he was getting in touch with his primal side. Royce also received a gift from the Predators - Predator armor together with a bio-mask. Machiko Noguchi is the most well known and badass human Predator. She was also the first, appearing in the initial Aliens vs. Predator comic line released in 1989. One of the few human to be blooded by a Predator she fought alongside a Predator clan for over a year.
Aliens v. Predators ...Sanaa Lathan team up a predator and even received the mark and you disrespected her in a big way.. You to bring her back with a story.

Going on my own experience with the predator books ( comics as well as novels), I, myself don't feel they have the equal of supernatural strength... just heavily heightened strength based on their homeworld; Supposedly their homeworld is a planet that has a higher gravity, as much as half again to one times that of earth; this in an earth based environment is what contributes to their superhuman strength, speed and a much heavier body density of natural musculature as well as their slightly thickened skin; this gives them the ability to withstand considerably more punishment then an average human of the same height, build and such "could". The atmosphere on their world is a bit harsher then ours, and as such, they need a seperate breathing apparatus that has the proper mix of chemicals that they can safely breath; They can tolerate earths atmosphere for limited amounts of time without said breathing mixture, and it shows in their powerful lung capacity to last them between doing heavy activities.
( AKA Predator 2 when the Yauja was on the roof of the meat packing plant, and had to use a personal respirator for a few good huffs that lasted him till he got to the ship later on. )
Just don't put Predators against Superman....

Predator have zero chance vs skilled warrior. Let alone pirate or superhero. Captain America? Just slash in half a predator with its shield. Hulk? Simply tear in half the predator. Or throw it towards its ship and smash it. Thor? Seriously? Predator will be turned to spinach soup with one hit 🎯 with the hammer. Anyone can takedown predator. Rambo will wipe out all the predators with machine gun. Melee weapons of predator are inferior to human weapons. Wristblades are inferior to knifes and swords. Spears and harpoons are draw. Disks and throwing stars not work very well against armored oponents.
Upgrade predator will give most marvel charecter a good run for there money... as we have seen 1 upgraded predator.. whos to say there isnt more of them... and in the comic theres a set of predator that live in and around larva so the preds will be ultra hard for anyone to take on...

Superman have strength 💪 to throw predator at supersonic speed and predator body will turn into atoms on impact in predator ship in orbit. Superman will see predator from miles away. Flash will outran predator any day. Batman will beat predator without problems. See predator is too heavy for its size. Can't jump much.
