I've watched this recording many times over the years. I don't know why it doesn't come up under a search for _"rachmaninov bach partita"_ as it is the best performance of this piece on youtube bar none.
In all your performances the compositions come to life under your elegant touch and phrasing. Bravo Alberto and thanks for sharing your amazing gift. The notes sparkle like diamonds.
Thank you!. My favourite performance of the wonderful Bach/Rachmaninoff. Your technique is impeccable, beautiful tone, and for this piece your tempo is just right, perfect articulation, and also just the right amount of pedal, too. There are many other performances of this piece on UA-cam, most are good, but yours stands head and shoulders above the others. Bravo, and thank you again,
Check the R.H. chords at the end of the Prelude - my edition has an E natural not a Dsharp at the bottom of the sixth chord(from the bass upwards B,Fsharp,B,E,A,Dsharp).😊Fine performance!😁
i love the dry sound, not just the pedal but the lack of reverb; In general i prefer a dry recording environment. I'm going to model my version of the prelude on Helene Grimaud's and this one, since I don't have a sostenuto on my upright
Interesting. I've listened to quite a few interpretations of the prelude on YT. To me it seems like H.G. uses pedal the most liberally and Chines uses it the most sparingly. How will you reconcile the two?
I think you don't UNDERSAND how much fun it is to play this! Obviously, I will never play it as well as he does here. But that is beside the point. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

Check out versions by Lugansky and Age Juriskas. As different as Gould to Richter.
Age Juurikas.
His tone is very elegant and beautiful!
pro trick: watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Jensen Quincy Yup, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Jensen Quincy yup, I've been using Flixzone for years myself =)
Agreed, so much emphasis on the different voices, imo most other performances of this are too fast and robotic
Very elegant touch and tonal quality!!!
Great Performance !……. Superb Pianist ...he really follows Rachmaninoff’s Score !
Thank you!
He does every thing "right". His tonal balances are perfect, as is his pedaling. The best performance of this music I have heard.
Don Mowatt Thank you!
My favorite performance of this piece. I always go back to this video!

Thank you very much! :)
Finora è fra le migliori interpretazioni. Tocco elegante e brillante. Ne emerge con buona chiarezza la logica musicale bachiana.

Grazie, Giampaolo!

Thank you!
So beautiful!!! (especially Gavotte)
Abhik Mazumder Thank you!
Andres Segovia made an arrangement of the middle part for guitar. It's amazing how Bach's music sounds great for any kind of instrument.
Mühelos entspannt klingendes Klavierspiel... das Preludio kann es mit der Aufnahme von Hélène Grimaud aufnehnmen. Bravo!
Thank you!
nice accurate touch great clear sound perfectly explained right tempo. the most..or one of the best performances of this piece on youtube.
Thank you!
Bachmaninoff

I really love the dissonance of that chord
Debrucey ...yes,but he doesn't play the dissonant chord... that was the point I was making...or are my ears deceiving me...?!😊😚
Andrew Kennaugh yeh I know, just saying that I like rachmaninoffs choice of chord
Bravo! Well done.
Thank you!
👏👏
Maestro. Bien ejecutado.
