I wasn't too into the robot design but holy shit that Trex design is PERFECT. Mixes all the right aesthetics of each incarnation of both Grimlock and T-rex in media to create a beautiful cyber rex! I give this a 4.5/5
These reviews make a bleak life interesting and enjoyable for 10-20 minutes. Really enjoying the return of the "swivel" and the classy articulation segment, never a bad time with a Jobby review

This looks like a space marine from 40k, which makes me love it even more. Like can you imagine? Orks are fighting marines in the battlefield when one of the big bad marines suddenly transforms into a giant dinosaur? God, I love this figure.
Whats even crazier is that, in the comics Grimlock and his crew actually had beast flesh/shells before fighting shockwave to protect themselves against energon radiation

I like the calling out of missing steps during transformation, everyone casually mentions when instructions are unusable but if Fanstoys can start giving us video instructions other companies can step up too.
Man that dinosaur mode looks so dang good. And love that little moment of the classic Godzilla music you threw in there. Not necessary but appreciated by a fan of the original film

I think he's so big so that he can scale well with MMC's Reformatted line, which is all about large-scale IDW-style figures. Alas, we don't have any other members of the ScaVengers yet, besides Nickel, but you can at least display him hitting Tarn in the ball-bearings.
Yeah, I think while a bit more MP like he still worked with MMC's IDW stuff since Grimlock is a taller bot (and in a deleted scene of Last Stand Of The Wreckers he was gonna fight Overlord so with how tall MMC's Overlord is this figure fits in). Though they made him smaller in MTMTE they basically made him a raptor sized T-Rex so I still think the scale works. The only reason I'm waiting on getting Cacus is cause I wanna see if they reveal a MTMTE retool this year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has PTSD from Devil Saviour's Mixmaster. I LOVE the look of it-- from the front-- but omfg was that transformation life-changingly difficult. Emgo had to order a 2nd one because he threw his first one across his freaking room.
Nice to get back to reviews about figures that can transform and it’s a long one to boot, nice. Cacus is a great figure. I think the best aspect about it is its look which is fitting since it represents Grimlock. You can’t have the leader of the Dinobots looking subpar plus the dinosaur mode is awesome. Great review! As much as I love the way IDW dealt with Grimlock, and the IDW design of the character, and how amazing the appearance and engineering on this figure are, I can't drop that kind of dough. Here's hoping Hasbro does a much cheaper version, at some point . . . .

I actually would like a review of movie grimlock. None of them matched their g1 counterparts and I didn't like grim's cockatiel head, but I still like the knight aesthetic they went for.
I think that Grimlock is super badass, I just wish he had a more robotic head like Scorn, and like the rest of the dinobots. (Hold up Michael Bay got the others' head right but screwed up Grimlock himself). I hope in future designs the dinosaur head is on the shoulder and not on the back.
To be fair a lot of third party transformers have funny or odd names. I remember this one called banana warrior based on Robots in Disguise Optimus(the one that turned into a fire truck.)
