Thanks so much for this. I'm a Handicapped/homebound stay at home mom. Teaching my toddler independence is a must for me. She's becoming my little helper and this video honestly warms my heart. Thank you for making my day to day easier, this is seriously a huge help to me.
Your comment has put a smile on my face. I was in a montessori kindergarden as a child. Now I am working as a trainer for people in an apprenticeship and I was able to work with young girls with a handicap and I am so glad about this experience. Recognizing how different every handicap is and how much we could do, if we knew more and they were included more and learning about their individual needs. I feel so happy to hear that something like this video and teaching montessori is helping you and your toddler. Wish you both the best. 😊
I used to work there, they are all about designing the home around the family and allowing kids to occupy every room not just hide everything in the bedroom out of sight from adults. I love that company
I really enjoy how clear and concise you express your views. Really loving your videos, I didn’t realize this whole Montessori lifestyle was a thing, but I’m interested in learning more!
Just like in your home, I had similar shelves to yours in my classroom ( I taught 5 year olds). The compartments were perfect for placing activities. I used the wooden trays too to make it easier for the children to bring things to the table or floor. I think organization is key in creating a welcoming space for children to learn and explore new activities. I’d like that kind of shelving in my house one day for my own children. I love the amount of thought you have put into your videos and I’m sure the items you’ve shown has helped give people a lot of ideas ☺️
We Germans love ikea. Some of the baby things we still have here. The tiny house with blocks and the tower with rings. Soon the 3 child will play with. With the first chair you show we build a learning tower. There are many diy for it. 👍
I’m so glad that I stumbled across your channel!! I have four children and the first two are older school age children and my last two are 3 and 19mos. I wish I knew about Montessori teaching when my older two were younger. However, now that God has blessed me to work from home, I’m starting a new adventure homeschooling my baby girls. Right now I’m doing research on different methods of teaching and curriculums before I officially start homeschooling. I just love the concepts and teachings that I’m learning so far about the Montessori way. Enough about myself lol I just want to thank you for sharing in such great detail!! You definitely have a new subscriber in me ☺️ I look forward to more of your videos.
You are the best! I've recently discovered your channel, after my LO was born and I gotta say you are a true inspiration, you always deliver quality content, you are organized and you are consistent. The videos "How to learn drinking from a cup" or the ones dedicated to Baby led weaning were a great help for me! Things whose importance I didn't even think about, seemed so easy and so "must do it" thanks to you! Especially since I am the first mom in my close friends group! :) You are a great inspiration for Montessori education, as well as for how to be a better mom! U rock!!!! 👍🤗🤗💪 Thank you for all of your work and dedication!
Love this! I like an “adapted Montessori” style combined with other traditional learning styles but so many of the things you picked I would love to have in my home 😍
Omg where have u been all my 2 kids lol my youngest is 3, and he inspired me to get in to Montessori, today he goes to a Montessori school, and im so glad i found you to help me on the way!
I picked up the stacking cups last week! They were exactly what I was looking for and they even have holes in them, so are great to use in the bath/for water play too. IKEA has a set of 'stacking' beds as well and I was thinking of getting a set (and using just one for now) for my 9 month old as a floor bed. It is a few inches off the ground and possibly a better option for where I live as I am paranoid about spiders and having a mattress on the floor. (Australia).
This video is a great resource! I found your channel through this series and have fallen in love with your family! Thank you so much for the information you’ve been sharing!
When do you recommend buying this little kitchen and mirror and shelf for the bathroom? My little girl is now 12 months old and I am planning to go to Ikea but I am not sure what of this things should I take now and what later
We decorated our whole house with IKEA stuff it was only an hour away from my old place but now it’s over six hours away I’m sooo upset! It’s my favorite store hands down. Great finds mama been loving your chanel
Hey, cool video. I have a lot of this stuff because, fun fact, when you are bored on sundays and the weather is too hot or too cold, IKEA is pretty much the safest place to go with a toddler. Or, in my case, a "toddlerette"
Thank you so much for this! We're switching to more of a Montessori home and things are adding up quickly. So happy to see some budget friendly options
I love the Flisat table. It’s def worth the money. We use it as a sensory table, for eating, for art, etc. I love to see what kinds of activities you do with your girls outdoors or as art time. Great video!
Today we went to Ikea to get a small table and two chairs for our son. We also bought that whiteboard/chalkboard combi thing :) He was really excited and loved playing school on the whiteboard :D
What’s your opinion on silicone/rubber items for kids? Planning to get some wood toys but most of the toys I have now are silicone or natural rubber. The only plastic toy I have is the Fisher Price classic rainbow ring stacker that I had as a kid
Loving the montessori videos! Could you do a video specifically on natural consequences and implementing rules ie. playdoh is not for eating, etc. Without saying “no” or “you cant do that” ?
I have a method i use since my grandson became mobile. When he has an item he shouldn't i just put my hand out to him and he usually will hand it over if not i ask for it or ask if he needs help
Love your videos! I found you through your Montessori videos and I love your content. Congratulations on reaching (and flying by!) 10k, you deserve it!
Hi Ashley! Ikea really has the best wooden toddler toys for a really good price. That step stool is something I need to buy, I had no idea Ikea sells it. The play kitchen is so cute, I would love to buy it for Alex but my husband thinks that's for girls only :D! The children's table you showed was used in the preschool I used to work at, for washing their own dishes, but it can be used for so many activities as you mentioned. I hope you had a great 4th of July ❤️!
Look up what Montessori actually is. It’s really just about child led learning. Minimalism is awesome and can totally work well in the system, you don’t need specific items.
Great video. Love the book stand in the background, where did you buy it? 😍 Just need to point one thing out, the sheepskin has a lot of chemicals in it and you should not cosy-up whit it, buy a skin suited for strollers if ju want it chemical free
Thanks for the video! I agree Ikea is def the affordable option to some of the Montessori materials. Where did you get your bookshelf that’s behind you on the video? I love the open design and that it’s right on the floor :)
I love your videos! It helps me a lot.. I have a baby turning 11months old, what are the perfect activities for this age,Thank you so much! More power!Godbless you and your family!
QUESTION: Hi Ashley! What age would be appropriate to get a play kitchen, table and chairs? My son is turning 1 next weekend and I was wondering if I should get him a play kitchen and table and chairs.
Thanks so much for your sharing😍 can i have a question, please ? If i want to have a small daycare montessori about 70 childs. How many room should I have?
Got to love IKEA! Have you seen the working children’s kitchen someone (can’t remember who 🙈) made with the ikea you kitchen? So many great hacks and diy projects!
We are making a trip to Ikea soon and I always like to have a list when I go (or we come home with a ton of things we didn’t need😂) this was SO helpful!! Thank you!
Yes yes. When babies put wood in their hands, it offers a texture and / or warmth. Metal has the tendency to go go from cold to warm when they put their hands on it... It also offers a 'taste' when they put it in thier mouth. When they enter todlerhood, they learn to care for delicate things which this becomes a part of. Plastic on the other hand does nothing
IMO, quality made plastic toys (like Lego or small animals) are also a great choice for children. I am combining different methods, little bit of montessori, waldorf, mindfullness and all the others I find interesting 😊 And I found out that Duplo blocks are the only toy that interests all of my kids at the same time. They are very versatile, can be used in educational purposes and are very sturdy (some of more delicate wooden or even ceramic toys just don't survive 3 boys 😄). I know that the natural materials have different texture, smell, color ... than plastic ones and that is very important to include the variety of them. But on the other hand, quality made plastic animals can be much more representative than any other ones - and that is also another aspect of montessori method.
Hi Ashley! I remember you mentioned some cutlery (not sure where, instagram maybe?) with that ergonomic handle, I actually even remember their look, it was like a fluorescent green or something, but can't remember where you found them, do you? :) Thank you so much and thank you for your videos, so valuable!!!
I did it from the beginning, so around 8 months. But I am quite strict about carrying glasses around - they have to drink at the table, so if anything breaks, they are already sitting still.
This is great! Would you be interested in doing an updated version of this with new products?
Would love to see this!
Yess me to
I agree!
Yessss please!
Yes I would be interested in this too

I had a bunch of these kitchen tools as a kid. It was a gift from a montessori classmate! My mom still has and uses the whole set, over 20 years later
Don’t forget. You can cut the LÄTT table and chairs to make it independent. From another blog the chairs were cut 7 cm and the table accordingly. :)
Oh and also a video on daily routines/schedule and how to come up with one would be helpful!

These videos are so helpful! Thank you!
Hi there! I don't see a link to the open book shelf you are sitting in front of. Can you please share link?
My hubby built it! our-little-nest.com/diy-front-facing-bookshelf/😊
Where is your book case from please?
May I know what are good places to get activity trays?
Where is your bookcase from in the background and how much? I need one of those...
You’re awesome! thank you 🥰
I find that ikea is very good on price and quality x
I love all of these ideas and i love ikea!!
That apple slicer is lethal my son took a chunk out of his thumb with that 😥
They have cut proof gloves on amazon
So sad
Thanks for the information.
Where is your white bookshelf from?
Is your bookshelf on the background from Ikea, too? Really like it.
No. She made it
I love ikea so much
New subscriber! Love this video! Thank you 😊
Great video! Ikea really does have so many beautiful toys ❤️
Got to love IKEA! Have you seen the working children’s kitchen someone (can’t remember who 🙈) made with the ikea you kitchen? So many great hacks and diy projects!
Yes, there are tons of those all over Instagram! That’s why I made sure to include it in this video!

What bookcase is that?
The step stool you use in the bathroom doesn’t work in my bathroom. It slides like crazy and dangerously. You have a carpeted floor it works for you
Thank you and great video.
Very useful, thank you
I love this so much! Thank you !
Thanks for sharing 😊
