  • We get asked all the time on when is it time to remake a set. It’s not the length of days it’s been there, it’s weather conditions that are our determining factor. A big rain can form a crust over the set basically keeping it from firing. Animals have a keen sense of smell and will still be able to smell the bait and lure you’ve used, but the dirt over the set is the concern. So if you’ve put a trap in and have been unsuccessful for the first couple days, don’t be concerned with resetting it unless there has been a big rain.

It worked. Didn't get my intended target exactly but it worked. Thanks for the great videos. Keep em coming. Helps deer hunters like me get into the full management aspect of hunting.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what to do. They sprung two of em last night digging but for whatever reason it didn't get them. Chuck as a fellow Alabamian I sure appreciate these videos

Great video. I've always wondered how long I could keep a trap set out. Thanks guys. Keep them coming

Yes. One was dug and the other was walked over without setting. I believe some of it had to do with location in relation to the bait. I now have it set where if they want to dig after the fish it's impossible without setting the trap. The other one I think was because I didn't have the screen over the pan right and I got dirt under it with all this rain we've been having. Yalls videos are definitely the best for someone new to this. Let's you evaluate your finding when something goes wrong

Just got my first order from Minnesota trapline. Packaged perfectly, urine and bait were still cold, great prices and arrived in 3 days. Thanks for the recommendation.

Great video. I trap in South Carolina in a lot of red clay and found that by making wax dirt using red clay it blends well and keeps the trap from crusting over like you stated.

Question for you- how would an animal dig out a trap without setting it off? I had some snap traps in my garden where we buried fish for fertilizer. Had a problem with something digging in it so we laid traps were they dug but somehow managed to pull the traps without setting it off.

What do you guys charge to trap coyotes? Or how do you determine what to charge? I've been asked to trap some farms and don't know how to figure a fair price.

Well guys two more failures but rewatching your trapping videos I think I have some new hope for my traps tonight if the rain doesn't ruin them. This is way harder than just shooting them but will all the houses going up around here that's not an option anymore. I did sling an arrow at one eating out of the neighbors dogs food bowl the other morning though. It's hard to tell when they are going after fawns this year cause we had three rut periods.
