i have a BX2350 with D902. if you dont maintain your equipment you only have yourself to blame. after every mowing i thoroughly clean the mower. i clean all of the grass out from under the deck. i also remove the radiator screen and make sure the radiator is free of debris. check oil and antifreeze levels regularly. i paid $8k for this tractor with 395 hours, a heated cab, nice condition 54" mower, and a 3t snowblower. i cant understand why someone would abuse and neglect such an expensive piece of equipment...... foolish.
This d902 E is used in gen sets , and other machines, I bought a new one on Ebay for my RTV900. I can fix my old block, if I can find a good crank. Otherwise, I got parts.
Did it crack the head the one I have Cracked the head and scared the middle cylinder just like that I'm going to try to have a new sleeve put in it and try to rebuild it
do a lot of these little kubota diesel motors have this problems in the utv? I was thinking about buying a used one that has a fresh motor in it from the dealer. but the more I read the more I'm second guessing kubota engines.
Every one I've done has been the result of user error. Kubota builds a good engine but if the radiator is full of debris and it can't get any air it will fail. The other common thing I find is that the water pump seal leaks and the coolant level isn't checked until it's too late. Most of my customers are too busy farming to worry about equipment maintenance! :)
The cost of machining and parts make this engine not a good choice for rebuilding. I can replace the engine and have a factory warranty for the same money as rebuilding. If I was working on my own machine and didn't have to factor the cost of labor, then that would be a different story.
Quick check of Amazon has a rebuild kit for this engine including sleeves, pistons and everything else for $539. This would make buying a clapped-out RTV900 worthwhile for sure if you could get it at the right price! www.amazon.com/Overhaul-Rebuild-RTV900W9-Utility-Vehicle/dp/B07F87JVYH
Let's see where to start?A WHITE long sleeved shirt to tear an engine apart. Shirt spotless. A 55 gallon drum with a grate with a plate cut jagged to try to loose parts down in if the person ever, (which is usually why someone opens an engine--- to fix it). But no he is thinking of using the oil pan for a parts tray. Why did I watch this I have lost valuable time.
How difficult is the engine removal?
Thanks for the video.

how many hours were on it ?
I'm not sure, I didn't get to see the hours on it before removal. They don't live very long after being overheated.
