Once I got it, I Hooked it up on my Bravia Tv with an optical out cable and played PS3 on it.. OMG I can talk for HOURS over this thing! O_O PS: if your a Mac user, id recommend buying the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB which gives you the abilty to enjoy this in 5.1 surround :D Totally worth it!

I tested the Z906 at JB Hifi in Sydney, the salesman cranked it up to full volume and voila, it just stopped working! I'm so happy I didn't got the 906. I opted for the older Z5500 instead, it's got tremendous amount of power, and mated to my Z623, together, they are multimedia beasts!

Also since doubling the watts per channel only result in a 3db change in volume which is the smallest sound increment the human ear can discern I know additional watts per channel in the 5500 is less than minimal and of no importance. I also like the fact that it has to be turned up higher to play at the same volume level as the 5500, that just means that the volume attenuator is of higher quality and is useful of its entire range. You get smoother control of the volume. This is common in all quality audio equipment. Thanks again I can buy with confidence

In terms of loudness it is described by audiophiles as the smallest sound increment the human ear can discern
trying to compare the two is rather pointless. for 1 point. the 906 is an 8 inch woofer. the 5500 is a 10 inch. in the music world that is a huge difference. secondly the 5500 series has a fuse in the back along with a huge ass heat sink to disperese heat. this way if the speaker is going to blow. the fuse dies and the speaker is saved. personally i have never had a problem with this design. i have had my 5500 for 5 years now and honestly they sound as good as the day they were unpacked.

The z5500 might be bigger and have more power, but even the z623 makes deeper and more punchier bass. The z5500 spits out alot of bass, but it isnt very deep and VERY muddy. I got both speakers and I'll take the z-906 over z5500.

How did you do this? Like how did you get them to link together from the same source, can you post a guide or instructions or something? I may be getting a 906 and I really want to see if I can get this set-up to work. Thanks.
What input are you using ? Are you using the single to double female ?? If so you will lose max volume put them in diferant jacks or one in optical and other 3.5 then enable both from your PC you will get 50% more sound out of them and 50% at the volume trust me is alot think this way no music dead silence and music playing 50% big derrance huh? its not as big but still :D
Hi, question for you as youv'e used both systems. Recently got the Z906, and one of the main differences I've noticed is that you have to turn up the volume more to get the same volume level as the Z-5500. Has you found that there is a bit less volume with the Z906 and you have to crank it up a bit more to get the same level? Thanks
How did you hooked it up to your PC? I have Z5500 and Z609 and I can't get it to work through aux splitter, it's like the pc is lacking music power i can have one system to play good and the other not.
I've set my PC in the living room to be used as a type of cinema (big DLP screen etc) Sound card is the fatal1ty titanium pro.... Would you recommend that I use the z906/z5500 for a 20 x 15 room? Or should I opt for an actual AV system (Sony, RCA etc) If you DO suggest the Logitech systems to me... z906 or z5500? The room isn't actually too big anyway, but there's a good distance between me and the screen. (wall to wall setup)
@KILLCOMBO What ever floats your boat really :) I have to admit the Z623 has a crisper sound than my Logitech z2300 but i just miss how much better the sub was on the z2300 compared to the new z623. Also my z623 broke after 2 months and that was with careful use, i have read everywhere that the issue mine had is very common (speaker light flickering, sub making a popping sound etc). Glad to hear you enjoy the z906 though
wooo finnaly a uploader who has good taste in music! flux as some epic songs with hella deep lows ;) oh and oh my god so does noisia his tracks are fucking epic :D
i've ran my two through an optical splitter (Sadly you lose quite a bit of performance from doing that) and they play in sync and totally alright. The limit becomes neighbours, it's a couple monster speakers and im so pleased with the lows and highs

z5500- 10" Hits lower bass notes with ease.. z906- 8" Hits higher pitched bass noted with ease, you can really tell a difference in sound from the 8" to the 10" but both are abnormally powerful. Speakers are about the same. Whatever you prefer i guess
