I have been riding motorbikes for around 60 years, but I have had many years in between without owning one. Got two bikes at the moment, but I didn't have to do what riders go through these days. My test was all over in about 25 minutes, and that was that. Well done to you all for persevering to get your licence. Ride safe.

@@TwoWheelsTommy my bikes battery or fuse stopped working 1 hour 30mins into the road ride 🥲 I had to ride back with no indicators working and no screen so I have to go back another day to do 1 hour due to equipment (I had 2 bikes on CBT and both fuse and battery went out) my luck Lool but thank you! I “failed” my first CBT in London, it was a HQ for training food delivery riders. Took a long trip to Isle of Wight and stayed there for the weekend. Pitstop Training is the place to go if you want actual experience.

Never give up if it's what you want to do. I did a 2 day course and still didnt finish it. Got up to the last bit of Element C, going great guns but ran out of time to do the road test. I've done Element D. I'm saying this because it is difficult for some people. I'm quite small and struggled to find a bike I could manage the first day. Asked to go on a scooter which was low and light the second day and loved it. They now have Groms so I will go back when I've saved up and do a 1 to 1 two day course but will switch to a scooter if necessary to complete it. Like Harriet, keep going till you complete it.😊

Hi, you could if you wanted to do the CBT on an automatic scooter and then go out and buy yourself a manual 125cc and learn it yourself on a carpark say. With the CBT if you do a Automatic CBT you still have the entitlement to ride a manual motorcycle so if i was you i'd just do that as if you have experience on a geared motorcycle already so far they are scrutinising you on the gears to be proficient on the CBT if you are on a geared bike. So if you already have enough experience with gears might aswel just get the CBT done on automatic just to get it done really. Then you can go out and learn on your own.

Anyone who is stressing, don't. Nerves are normal, but it really isn't worth the stress. I passed yesterday and so did the other guy i did it with, somehow. He continuously went the wrong way, turned into a no entry one-way road, went straight over a mini roundabout, emergency stopped at a yellow traffic light causing me to almost go into the back of him as i expected him to carry on, too close to parked cars, positioned left in the lane when turning right, the list goes on. He still passed. Just goes to show the reason why there are so many idiots on the road, and that you can pass the CBT by doing basically nothing correct.

Alright Mark, I'm glad you found it useful. Most schools will provide all of the gear apart from trousers and footwear. I had my own helmet anyway, and I bought some motorcycling gloves as I hate wearing gloves and didn't want the school ones to be too bulky. I also took my own jacket but they had loads there to use for anyone without. I'm a pretty big lad, turning up only to find they didn't have a jacket big enough for me would have put an end to my CBT. Check with your local school to see what they can provide for you, and don't forget to subscribe to the channel if you've not already! Good luck 👍
I ride a couple of 50cc geared bikes (05 Aprilia RS50, 2012 Derbi Senda DRD PRO) on my pre 2001 driving licence with the full AM moped privileges. No official bike training at all. I learned to ride on my mates crashed/damaged mbx50 field bike as a kid, my mate ran beside me and told me when to change gear and that was that, I was gone!! 😂. By age 15/16 I was blasting about on an early supermoto'd 1994 CR500 (insane bike!!!), an Urban tiger fireblade, RD350LC, ZXR400 grey import, NSR250 and alsorts (the mid 90s early 2000s was an AMAZING time for knowing kids and their dads who rode and loved motorbikes as much as I did!!)😂. I settled down and stopped riding around illegally almost 20 years ago after having kids of my own (be the example you want to set kinda thing), then I bought the 50s just over a year ago...now I'd like to try my luck working my way through the proper tests and stuff to get a full bike licence...watching these CBT videos are kinda the first step towards that...plus my son is 16 this year and he wants the DRD (ffs) 😂. Thanks for posting videos like this that try and cover all the bases and go more in depth with loads of info...it helps immensely and makes it seem like getting a licence is an attainable goal. Sorry for the essay/life story btw 😂. Well done to anyone trying your luck at the CBT and giving two wheels a try.

I have the same pre 2001 privileges but decided to go straight to CBT as no way is a 50cc getting my fat arse up the hills around here! And actually a 125 is doing a great job aside form some of the worst hills the island has to offer. Still, better than walking up them🚀 Go get that CBT done 💪

The youngsters on their 4 stroke 125s have got no chance of keeping up with it round the village!! Haha! 😂. The plan is to send off for my lads provisional in August then work our way through the CBT I think, then progress from there. Thanks for the encouragement and the reply. Hey Mark, good to hear you are going to get on a bike! It is very natural to be nervous, I was nervous to get on a bigger bike today for my MOD 1 training. Any decent training school will have gloes/helmet/jacket but you should check with them first. You will need some decent trousers (Jeans are great) and some sturdy shoes (Not steel toe-caps). Good luck!
Hey, the school should be able to provide helmets and gloves if you don't have them (Check with them first). You can wear normal jeans. You can wear trainers, the more protective the better. The best thing for you to do would be to check with your school as each school will be slightly different. They will have all of the correct answers. Good luck! 😀
Hey, no your school should have those but do check with them before you go. You can do your theory test before, or after your CBT. Most people do it after the CBT.
With the chinese bikes tbh they all arent that bad. Theyve improved quite alot and alot of riding schools use Chinese bikes benelli is now Chinese and they use alot of Keeway's so they wouldnt use them if they wasnt reliable. On my "Chinese" bike it was a Keeway RKS 125cc and when i got it second hand for around £1250 2020 plate it was in brand new conditon nearly with 1800 miles on the clock. Kept in a garage and then over a 2 year period i used it everyday, with about 25,000 miles on it at the end before i got rid of it. and in that time i did minimum repairs on it, new sprocket front and back and new chain, brake pads front and back and aside from a tiny bit of rust the overall bike was a decent bike for a learner just starting out. I dont think it really matters if its chinese or japanese, whatever as long as your getting experience.

@@TwoWheelsTommy Yeah when you come to doing your MOD 2 test i have some advice for you. Ride your own ride, forget the examiner is with you. Repeat what he says back to yourself and if you get a chance to over take make progress do it even if he has stopped at a red light. The examiner is on a much heavier bike and if he has to stop means you will be 3 or 4 cars infront if you have to over take therefore he cant keep track of your speed, clutch control, etc and making progress shows confidence. I found that if hes right behind you the whole time makes it seem like the rider is unsure. As long as its safe, ride your own ride.
Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
I agree, the whole process is wrong. My friend passed her bike test today - she is a fantastic rider but can't ride a proper big bike yet because of her age. If it was a car test she could drive a Ferrari!

Not to mention 125s are crazy expensive I spent the best part of 6 grand all in where my brother spent less than 2 for his full test and a 600. Depends on how you do it. I paid 2500 for my excellent Zontes 125 and traded it in for 1800 a year later when i passed mod2. 700 quid for 5000 miles of smiles. Well worth it to me.
@@daddystu7046 my point is IV been driving bikes years, well before the CBT was even a thing so I shouldn't need one like the people toeing trailers without a license and I'd love a bigger bike but can't afford it the mt was a present to get me on the road but having only had 2strokes that hit 100 or more struggling to hit 75 is annoying and your bike was cheap new and still cheap lol not sure where it's from but sounds Chinese I'm sure parts are non existent
a cbt is the most stupid test in the uk just a complete rippoff and nobody ever hardly fails its a complete waste of human time and emotion what a load of crap its time it was abolished the whole motorcycle test needs redoing and also made cheaper biggest rippoff out there nobody wants to take the tests because of the price and the cbt is worthless .
A CBT is not a test, it is a training session. You cannot technically fail it, though the instructor can hold back your certificate if they deem you need more training before being able to ride unsupervised on the road. The rest of the points you make are valid, though I feel the more training and tests you have to do to ride a bigger bike is a sensible move as motorcycles are not toys. It is very easy to hurt yourself on one if you do not know how to use it properly 👍

I found that if hes right behind you the whole time makes it seem like the rider is unsure. As long as its safe, ride your own ride.

Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
I agree, the whole process is wrong. My friend passed her bike test today - she is a fantastic rider but can't ride a proper big bike yet because of her age. If it was a car test she could drive a Ferrari!

Not to mention 125s are crazy expensive I spent the best part of 6 grand all in where my brother spent less than 2 for his full test and a 600. It's all a money grab I had a 125 at 17 which was twice the power of my mt and you didn't need a CBT
Depends on how you do it. I paid 2500 for my excellent Zontes 125 and traded it in for 1800 a year later when i passed mod2. 700 quid for 5000 miles of smiles. Well worth it to me.
@@daddystu7046 my point is IV been driving bikes years, well before the CBT was even a thing so I shouldn't need one like the people toeing trailers without a license and I'd love a bigger bike but can't afford it the mt was a present to get me on the road but having only had 2strokes that hit 100 or more struggling to hit 75 is annoying and your bike was cheap new and still cheap lol not sure where it's from but sounds Chinese I'm sure parts are non existent
a cbt is the most stupid test in the uk just a complete rippoff and nobody ever hardly fails its a complete waste of human time and emotion what a load of crap its time it was abolished the whole motorcycle test needs redoing and also made cheaper biggest rippoff out there nobody wants to take the tests because of the price and the cbt is worthless .
A CBT is not a test, it is a training session. You cannot technically fail it, though the instructor can hold back your certificate if they deem you need more training before being able to ride unsupervised on the road. The rest of the points you make are valid, though I feel the more training and tests you have to do to ride a bigger bike is a sensible move as motorcycles are not toys. It is very easy to hurt yourself on one if you do not know how to use it properly 👍
