When the counselor asked the husband what things since all of this has changed in his own life, the focus started on him but he reverted right back to his wife. He is still looking at the wife faults and not change in his own life.
At 21:37, the husband's priority is loving Jesus no matter what Julie does. So why is he married to her? He is constantly assessing that he needs to constantly help her like she needs saving and he doesn't. Very narcissistic view. He doesn't speak anything about them being one together in ministry. He has managed to compartmentalize her away in a box. That's sad. He is still talking about his desires above anything else. What about dying to self?
Oh man, making her feel that her depression resulted from not trusting God? This is so heartbreaking. She’s obviously having a hard time and it’s probably from a root cause which isn’t tied to how many prayers she said that day.
EXACTLY. I used to think Biblical counseling was great, but now I see that it fed into toxic cycles in my life. This whole video is just so terrible. People who grow up in it won't see it. I don't even have the heart to argue about it any more.
You poor souls don’t understand it. I hope the Lord saves you all and helps you understand how to find real contentment in Him instead of thinking prayer does nothing. How pitiful to hear someone say something so wrong and confused.
@@SusieSaysVoiceovers Nobody who “leaves Christianity” (you were never a Christian to begin with whatsoever) understands any of it at all. Not even a little. It’s not a debatable thing.
@@SlaveofChrist1so you know for a fact that I, a stranger to you, did Christianity incorrectly? Are you claiming to be all-knowing like your fictional creator or just so indoctrinated that you can’t see the ludicrousness of everything you’re saying?
You should consult the legal guardians of dependents as well as the PCPs of counselees instead of going behind their backs to "diagnose" and "prescribe" treatments.
I like to see how everyone is acting like they would be better than this person and his wife, we are all sinners - and none of this should be surprising. Seeing heart change is what we should be celebrating!
It's wonderful to hear the improvements. But it seems sad that they had to go to a counsellor to hear and learn about some of the most basic truths of Christianity and the Father's heart. Sad because it seems their church didn't teach these truths. If they did, they wouldn't have needed to hear them from a counsellor, would they? Praise God for sending them help in a time of need. Xxx
counselling non-believes is much harder. I guess their problems cannot be hidden behind religion, great content regardless, though i wish the religious aspect should be included in the title.
Really, if I were the wife I would have gotten up and walked out. I do not think this is an effective counseling session at all. Sad, very sad this is the kind of counseling that is being taught.
Lovely, wonderful, praise God they came through ❤❤❤❤

“Do you still love Julie?” He didn’t say yes, he actually said no.
What material (book, course, questions) was given to the councelees?
This lady looks so deeply sad. Actually she looks beyond sad she looks afraid. I wager they made the problem worse.
But- this is a reenactment- that's what the video info says- So I think that's just their acting-

Looks like the husband is an abusive narcissist and Julie might be depressed by him.
He was emotionless when talking about his wife. His heart isn’t even breaking for her.
True- but I think that's because of their acting- the video says it's a reenactment-
Thank you so much for this! It ministered to me right where i needed it.
What is the book in the Bible, book?
Does anyone know the name of the book that Joe and Julie were studying?
the bible
Yes, the guy has the Bible open, but she is not reading from the Bible. She is reading from a book that has different chapters
I was wondering myself...
All he sees is the negative in his wife instead of loving her to Christ
Exactly.

This has really been valuable since we have a counseling ministry at our church

Pastors wives I have known who had had to I’ve like this die early. Very depressing. Get a licensed decent counselor.
