Hey Tommy I suggest every time you flash and it says “ wait 5 seconds “ turn the car completely off, lock it and let the car go into rest mode or “sleep” that way you will not get any check engine lights or error messages once you start the car ! 👍
It’s recommended but not necessary. Mostly for the fact that the burbles are more aggressive in stage 2 as well as the catalytic converter robbing 30whp or so. I run stage 2 (non agg) with burbles off. Not as significant as stock to stage 1 but still worth it in my book.

You should play around with the “Boost Reduction by Gear” function to aid with traction a bit. Try 20% in 1st and 10% in 2nd - still feels fast, but with better traction in the lower gears. You will notice a bigger difference in warm weather with summer tires of course.... Oh yeah, you don’t need to mess with the “Rev Match in Sport+ w/DSC Off” setting since your car is a 2017. That setting is for 2018.5+ cars that came from the factory with rev match in Sport+ mode. BM3 put that setting there because BMW still disabled rev match in Sport+ with DSC off - this setting defeats that factory interlock. Keep up the great content!

@@TommyLGarage awesome! Thanks
New to your channel and really enjoying your content. Considering a F80 M3 with manual transmission, but would be learning manual with that car. Is that ridiculous?
You’ll be fine. The anti stall feature makes it easy to learn a manual on this car
Hi Tonmmy, do you have any coupon code discount buying from kiesmotorsports? I'm looking for BM3 for my M235i
mention my name...they'll hook you up
Charge pipes, down pipes, cold air intakes. And you can got stage 2 making 550, thats what I run on mine
I don't wanna mess with downpipes....i hate the smell and I often times have 2 kids in the car with me
Hmm, i run 580 on bm3 stg2, csf kit, downpipes, bms drop ins, mpe. thinking removing gts transmission tune it doesnt feel right i miss the push jump when shifting up
Hey Tommy,
Can you use bootmod3 to only remove the cold start and keep the stock tune? I'm planning to get a M2 N55 but my neighbors will kill me! :D
Yes sir. That’s why I got it in the first place no leave my car at 4:30 AM and cold start was a major no no. So it was either me keeping the car and getting a tune with cold start delete or getting a Tesla
Tommy,
Do you have to revert back to stock tune when you are doing the emissions testing in NJ?
Yes sir.
How many hp gains with stage1 did you dyno and check it yet? , love your videos 😍
Hi thanks I will dyno soon
How much was the crank hub upgrade?
Around $4k
Hi Love you video's 👍👍 just wondering do you know if BMW can pickup the flash record's to void to warranty or long as I flash it back before I go back it's fine.
Also are there standard profiles for 95 and 98? Thanks
Yes they can
How long did you wait for this specific tune to flash onto the car? Also, I got BM3 and plan to run same tune.
About 1 minute. Super quick
Tommy L Garage thanks man!
Does Bootmod3/tunes in general decrease fuel efficiency? (Assuming same style of driving as pre-tune)
Actually it can increase fuel efficiency. Look it up - many have noticed better fuel economy
On the stage 1 tune do u feel the torque falls flat on the top end, I have the stage 2 tune
Nope. They recently improved it. Feels like stock just more powerful
Does Bootmod3 allow you to change/code features like door chimes, DRL brightness, etc?
WhiskeyActual get bimmercode
No
No. Bimmercode does. I linked it in the description. You get a discount too!
Which trickle charger did you use
This one: ua-cam.com/video/h2k5szVq9K8/v-deo.html
@@TommyLGarage thanks bro I used a similar one. Just got my f82 m4 and used bootmod3 to flash GTS tune
Hey Tommy your car is awesome.I have a Mineral grey m3 f80.I love it.You are a cool guy.Greetings from Germany.
Thanks for the note and I appreciate the kind words!
Btw, We need to meet this summer! Any BMW meets there ?
DailyDrivenTurbo sounds good!
I’ll work on something.
Hi. I know it's been awhile since you made this vid, but would you recommend bootmod3 stage 1 on it's own? From the videos I've seen it's a ton more power, but traction is really compromised.
I say keep your car stock. It has plenty of power
Can I use a usb cable or it has to be that one?
Has to be this one
do they have a 98 octane stage 1 tune? From Australia cheers
I think Noah used that same laptop to tune the ark. ;-). Your car however looks AWESOME. I could only afford an M235, but I love it.
Hahah funny.
What’s your crank hub upgrade?
Bryce Koizumi MaxPSI done by Kies Motorsports
On track days do you still use BM3 stage 1 or do you go back to stock boost levels?
I’ve been using stock but next time around I’ll keep stage 1 and compare time differences
@@TommyLGarage Did you end up running stage 1 or other tun at the track? Curious how it performed - particularly did it generate more heat or stay pretty cool?
Q-hi tommy,,is it always in this extra power or only when you put in sports plus
Always.
u finally did it huh. 1will change to 2 soon...trust me haha. stage2 with decat power is...like... the end of f80s tunning. I changed utubes name sorry about that! have a great one!!
I"d love stage 2 but I can't run catless downpipes. I need the air around me to be clean
@@TommyLGarage Good call Tommy. Running catless sucks anyway. Your bumpers get so ridiculously dirty and the only way to clean them is with decontaminent and a clay bar every time. Really makes keeping your fresh car looking clean. I did it once, never again. Plus it smells awful in the cabin. BTW, i'm a new subscriber. First video, and great content.
Stavros Stergiou thanks! I hope you can catch up on all the rest :)
@@TommyLGarage will definitely look around. I've been eyeing possibly getting an F80 M3 as well as a daily driver. Always loved M cars, never owned one.

We did CS back then. This time I went Stage 1
11:22 when reality reminds you that you’re not playing a game ;)
Oh so true !
are you able to pass OBD emissions with the stg 1?
Yes sir
Can you give me please link for cabel? Thanks mark
