You are a genius! If anyone is intimidated by the iron you can create the same effect using a sewing machine. I always look forward to your videos, Norine!!
Thank you so much for another GREAT tutorial. You are so pretty in your beautiful sweater matching your wonderful blue storage wall that I love behind you!
This is amazing! No matter the size of my flat things I can make a place to corral them all. Thank you for this Noreen. XOX from the Southern California desert, MK ❤☀️🌵
I have the same " M.E." book. Picked it up second hand in Anchorage Alaska. BUT....today I got her cross stitch book for twenty five cents at a donation book shelf in our mall. All books are donated and all proceeds ( give what you like) goes to buy senior's games, refreshments etc for the senior's community center. I was thrilled. I don't cross stitch anymore but there is a cherries tea cozy pattern, and since I collect tea pots and have a "M.E." tea pot, I will make one last cross stitch project. Love this organizing 💡 idea!.
Noreen I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate all your videos! I'm in the process of organizing my craft room. I am so appreciative because you explain so well by examples which I can follow and implement . I love how you also show us budget friendly ideas! Thanks again from the bottom of my heart! Kattie
Lol... I'm over the moon with delight Norrine. Now I can re-retrieve my binders in a box in my donation pile. Lol. I knew they would come in handy. However, fun aside, what a clever solution. Thanks so much. Keep shining on. 🥰
What a wonderful idea! I’ve had a box of these sheet protectors hanging around for a long time. Now I could use them for my small card cutouts. Thanks so much. 🥰💖
You are AMAZING. I had the same idea for using baseball card holders, which incidentally could be found at the Dollar store years ago, when my boys were young. Now they're so expensive as is everything. So I decided against that idea. Now I can use it again after seeing your video. Thank a million
Norrine, because of you I’ve been inspired to clean my craft room. I’ve implemented most of your ideas. Thank you so much! I’ve put off dealing with my room for almost a year. I’m looking forward to 2021, the year I get my craft room happy place back in order and back to being my happy place instead of a hot mess. Lol
I created a 3-ring binder with page protectors that I sewed across and then cut to make pockets. I love your way best! I'm going to use my iron for the next ones I need! You are such a genius, Norrine!
I could not agree more about like items together. Unless it's something exclusive to one thing, like specialty items for my Silhouette, everything is grouped with like items. *And just Wow! You are brilliant Norrine!* I _never_ would have thought to make my own custom pockets using a full sheet protector. _Funny because I resize zipper bags all the time._ I use sheet protectors *a lot!* Since I do, I buy them in them in bulk in various pocket sizes. My favorite use for them is for beads, which are each in mini zipper bags, then tucked into the pockets. Now if I run out of the size I need, I'll just make one! Thanks so much.
I just watched this video and you have done it again.Thank you so much. I have a sleeve fuse that I bought a while ago and forgot about it. I can use this to make pockets to store some of my embellishments. I have so many stickers and embellishments that they are all over the place. Now I have your great ideas for a way to store them. I am always so inspired when I watch you. Thank you, thank you.
Right?! I discovered it because I used to use my food sealer (yeah... we already know I don't cook - LOL) for my scrapbooking. It died and I had to come up with another way to 'seal' my pages!
Oh, Noreen!! Once again you save the day!! I have been looking for a way to keep my “prototype” cards and their recipes so I can flip through to get inspiration without getting them all dog-eared and have pieces fall off. This will work for two cards on each sides with their recipes inside each one! Now I will just have to take out the card I want to duplicate and the recipe is right there with an unspoiled example. You’re amazing!! Thank you!! ❤️🎶
A fuse tool would also work well for this. I used to store my alphas this way. I'd take a 12x12 page protector and use my fuse tool to make two separate pockets for my alphas.
It's so simple yet so brilliant! I like to precut many of my word dies in black as it is my most used color for words. I can now have them at a glance! TFS 🧡💜
Lovely Idea! I also have tons of the baseball sheets, I loved making pocket letters! Definitely need to look into this idea to organize the flat things! Love it!
Hi Norinne! I used baseball cared page protectors for my buttons. Sometimes I flip the rough the binders just to look at them. Creating customized pockets with page protectors is brilliant! Thank you so much!
I've been watching old videos and just found this - it's brilliant! I especially appreciate your trick with the iron; I had my husband hack a fuse tool for me, which works well enough, but this could have been even less expensive since I have a dedicated crafting iron already.
Great idea!!! Love your videos! Thank you for all your inspiration! I just converted 3 "craft" rooms in my home into 1 large room and have definitely used some of your ideas!! Thank you!!
I saw something similar years ago but using a wood burner. I thought it was a great idea but I wasn’t about to buy a wood burner that would only be used to make pocket pages. It never occurred to me to use an iron, it’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea. I purchased an older kitchen food storage machine...you know the kind that sucks the air out and seals your bag, from a thrift store. Often when you purchase them at thrift stores, the part that suck the air out isn’t working, but that is ok because I use the part that seals across those same sheet protectors you used to make my pockets. I mostly use them for my die storage, but I never thought to use it for embellishment storage, so thank you for this idea! It takes a little playing around to figure out how quickly to lift the top up because it will also, obviously, cut the bag, which can also be useful depending on what you’re making. Cheers!
Actually, you could do that if you wanted. If you did, I would use heavy duty thread and I would poke the holes with a needle first, like you would with keather.
Great idea! I don't iron. I got rid of clothes that needed ironing decades ago. About the only time my iron gets used nowadays is for sewing or crafting. In fact, I've moved the iron out of the laundry room to the studio! LOL
I wouldn't even OWN an iron if it weren't for the few costumes I make for my kids each year..... and CRAFTING! I use it more in my craft area then anything else! LOL
This is brilliant!! I already have all the supplies and can’t wait to try it out!! Thank you for all your good ideas that are simple enough for anyone to do and you don’t have to buy a lot of special tools to do them.
YOu are a genius.. I had always thought that there had to be some way to use those sheet protectors as a pocket but just didn't know that I could use my iron.. thanks so much
I have found things like this at thrift stores. (Page protectors, baseball cards, even film sleeves meant for 35mm negative storage). There are always irons there too, if you want a dedicated craft iron. Some of my best scores were thrift store finds.
I have purchased a FUSE tool from we R memory keepers and I have done this exact thing. I used my project life variety packs of sleeves to create a 4 pocket page and then put my cards in there so that when I am scrapbooking I just flip through the book to find the perfect card.

Thank you so much for sharing this brilliant idea. Can't wait to try it out as I have all the supplies needed. Btw, love your sweater and your hair. Gorgeous! TFS your creative ideas. Rose Marie
I did that over 10 years ago!!! I just used the same method of fusing the edge of one sheet protector cut in half to the outside edge of an existing page. I reinforced the seam with a small bit of shipping tape - it's still good as new!
I have seen a lot of organizational systems. But this one makes a lot of sense to me. And then you could have them in a notebook. I will try this and see if it works for me. I do have a vacuum pack sealer that I may try for the seams
Well who knew that your iron would fuse the page protectors together! And how did you discover that this worked? I love this idea and I will try it for sure. I have put it on my list. Just have a crochet project to get done and then I can look for the protectors. Thank you once again!
