You should bring Spikerock instead cuz it counters most of them - Use Magnet shroom - There is a new plant that you will probably use very often, but don't get too attached to it - This world has the most dangerous Gargantuars in the game, use Iceberg Lettuce or Stunion to stop them - Day 16 is extremely difficult and the boss is much worse than this one

Wow, that boss is said to be a hard one but you handled it pretty well for a first attempt, a bit down to the wire but congratulations! Your pain isn’t over though, I’ll give you this; this next world will have you in a rap bundle, and it’ll have you jamming out too.
Tip: always use sun shroom every level even day levels because they produce 25/50/75 while sunflower produce 50 twin sunflower produce more but higher sun cost
That highly depends. Some levels require high sun production early, so Sun Shroom is only useful when you actually have time to make it grow (unless it's leveled up or boosted). I personally think a column with 3 Sunflowers and 2 Twin Sunflowers is more viable, both in sun production and and sun investment.

Not really. If an endangered plant turns into sheep, it still counts as alive. As long as it is not eaten, destroyed, or thrown out of the lawn, you don't lose the level.
