People are beginning to understand the fast food advertising code:
    1. Improved (We found a cheaper way to make
it even if it tastes different as long as it is
    acceptable)
    2. Use our new kiosks or order online (If your
order is wrong or cold it is now your fault)
    3. Sustainable/ethical sourcing (We have
    signed exclusive contracts with suppliers
to benefit us in pricing but will charge you
    more for the privilege)

Meanwhile, our Five Guys just shut down a few days ago and reading all the comments on the local articles that announced their closure they all say the same thing. Way overpriced food that tastes like an average burger that you can make at home.

I'm limiting my intake of garbage foods like this and I solely blame McDonald's for screwing everything including raising prices to making their burgers a lot smaller called "shrinkflation" so I'm never coming back for their Big Macs regardless and I'm learning to cook homemade foods so saving money is on the table now
Permanently! The fast food industry did this to themselves out sheer greed and most people are now waking up and limiting their intake of empty calories foods like this and who could blame them!? The fast food industry didn't that they're the Barometer in which inflation is based on everyone's watching them closely!

1:12 the problem with the stuff from McDonalds: when I get food there, I am getting food for 2 people, and we do not like the same things. A Buy One, Get the Second for $1 is meaningless, in that context. Also, the so-called “meal deals” are worthless to us as well, as we do not drink soda with everything we eat. A lot of what these companies are offering people in order to make things cheaper aren’t useful to everyone.

I absolutely love 5 Guys and will drive out of my way to get to one; however,I agree with other commenters here that pricing has gotten out of hand. They have a great online ordering system and I feel like it's a very consistent product.... but it's so expensive that I only eat there about a third of the time that I normally would - can't afford it.

How some of these are only problems in the US not the UK and EU. E Coli outbreaks are usually local and down to poor food hygiene training by local management and lack of spot inspections by local health and food hygiene authorities. With the obesity problem in the US smaller portions should be embraced. Variations in food preparation indicates a hand made quality not cheaply mechanically made and a superior product. Seems that the US does not embrace quality but only wants cheap, unhealthy, full of additives food.
