Hello, this is Michael. Thanks for commenting. What I experienced that night could have come straight out of Conrad's Heart of Darkness. Embarassingly, I realized later that was a dark element of colonialism beneath my attitude. Who the heck was I to question the values of people who I discovered later had been there for hundreds of years.
Hello. This is Michael. I completely agree with your comments. I always say to myself and others that we are all guests in the Philippines. This is their home and we, as guests, must always behave appropriately.
Hello, this is Michael. I agree with you. There is so much Ive been privileged to learn by living in diverse cultures during my lifetime. Occasionally I may not agree with some cultural aspects, but I must remember I'm always a guest of the people in that country.
Duwende and Leprechauns must be related.😉I first went to the Philippines in 1970. Over the years I had many holidays there. Once I spent eight years there without leaving. We have been married 40 years now and have grown old and gray together. I hope you two will be happy together.
Bob my 1st 1st time living in the PI was 1980 during Marcos martial law. 2 yrs that changed my life and allowed me to find my sense of place in this big world.
Hello Robert. It's good to hear from you. Thanks for subscribing. Vance lives in Dauin. I live in Valencia. I beleive the areas of Dauin, Dumaguete, Valencia and Bacong offer a good insight to life in general in the Philippines.
Here is a question for you to answer. I'm an 80 year old American male, in great physical condition, I live comfortably in the U.S, own a home, cars, motorcycles, tools, toys, musical instruments, have always been self employed, own different businesses over the years. I have been widowed for 3 years, and due to some poor decisions on my part am living on a very small pension, not enough to live on in the Philippines, so question is, can an expat find a way to earn money in the Philippines. Could I teach? I have been in sales, musician, builder, I can teach all kinds of tech skills, automotive, machinest skills,, building skills, more, Learned and taught so many skills over the years, apparently not good with money skills🤣. So, if you would , I would love to learn more in this area. I am considering coming to Manilla area in January or February. I am hoping to find a woman to spend the rest of my life with in your country. I am enjoying your Vlog, and the information you are sharing. Thank you.
Even after marriage, a Filipina's family may still see you as an outsider and might not fully accept you as part of the family. Their welcome could depend on your ability to provide support. To protect your relationship, it’s often better to create some distance and focus on building your life together away from her family.
Hello Rachel. This is Michael from VERITAS. I tend to see every obstacle or challenge as an opportunity for personal growth. I regularly stum blue but find it best to get up and try again A wise Japanese saying says "man falls down 12 times but gets up 13 times
Hello and thanks for your inquiry. Actually, we are neither. Vange produces our You Tube programs and sits in occasionally as my co presenter. We are not a couple.
I lived in Dumamguete, Valencia, that place is a dump, trash everywhere, traffic is terrible, many tarffic accidents, very boring life, after 3 years living there I am going back to the USA In November 2024, I will not go back to the Philippines.
It's a pity it took you three years to realize you're not compatible, makes me wonder why you moved here though. Next time you relocate, check the place out first.
Very informative. That was an amazing story about almost getting killed due to not understanding the culture.

I think as an expat like myself wherever we go in any country we should adapt to their culture or else just move out✈️🌏🕊️❤️🌈🙏🏻✨✨✨
