One thing thats always intrigued me is the collet eject button that some of their impacts have. I swap a lot of bits in my line of work and wonder how handy that would be.
So Flex in the US has a distinct grey colour, Is the red tools under the same flex brand that im now seeing in the uk the same company or just its ip sold to a european or chinese manufacturer? The logo looks identical but these tools are 18v
As an electrician I need an impact, hammer drill (traditional), a sds, a sds max, saw zaw, band saw, grinder, radio, vacuum, and light. The electrician specific tools are nice but I can source outside the platform (cable stapler, wire cutter, crimper, knockout set). BUT when Milwaukee has it natively, dewalt has most of it natively or through Klein who uses their battery, and makita has greenlee for an offering… Flex has a huge hill the climb.
Nice bait title. I've already purchased the pin nailer and knew they're not going anywhere.. i immediately invested in Flex because i was a Lowes sub contractor, and because i knew how dominant EGO is with their battery lawn equioment. Making "the best" drills and drivers is easy in the 2020s. The battery is where it's at
Thanks to VCG, I bought, and still enjoy the FLEX 24v drill. The battery turned defective after a while (first time that ever happened), and I was going to give up on the brand. I saw a framing nailer, and was gonna try them again. Thankfully, I watched the whole video lol I was gonna feel some kinda way if they were done…
Love my Flex tools! When it was time to replace brushed DeWalt tools and having dealt with poorly constructed new corded DeWalt tools I was ready to move up. Been saying goodbye to yellow tools for quite some time.
Vince, I really like this format-seams very personal. I have the Flex 18 gauge brad nailer and the Ridgid;s model is on par with it. Believe it or not- just got the Flex 23 gauge pin nailer kit today from ACME tools. I am hoping to put it to the test within next week through 3/4 inch red oak back by pinage. The Ridgid 23 gauge model is only adequate, unimpressive, nothing to write home about but barely gets the job done. Flex nailers have now shown up on Lowe's website and in local stores. Vince-compare and contrast the Flex models through some rigorous testing please!!!
@@VCGConstruction I finally done a testing to compare the Ridgid 23 gauge pin nailer to the Flex 23 gauge pin nailer, I used Porter cable 1 1/4 pins for the testing through 3/4 red oak with pine 2X4 under. My experience with Ridgid Pin nailer is was lack luster. Last Month's ridgid recap: both 2-amp Ridgid batteries ran like crap in it -everyone proud. 4amp or better did better but still alot proud. Today: Ridgid with a 6 amp battery with the no mar tip removed and it did good-nothing proud but the No Mar tip pins were proud. The Flex-I was using a 2.5 battery and not one proud. The Flex 23 gauge pin nailer is hands down is better than the Ridgid.

I have all Flex Tools and can promise their claims are real. Flex isn’t new and has been around for a very long time in the steel industry. They have a lancer line but for some reason Lowe’s doesn’t carry them all. You have to go to Acme or Ohio online to get them. I ordered the 12” miter saw and absolutely love it. The 10a battery lasts me two days +.
At first, my biggest concern was reliability. A lifetime warranty doesn't make tools reliable. I still haven't personally seen any on job sites, but there's really no major issues that UA-cam has reported, so I think they're a safe bet in that area. I'm a huge fan of the 6 cell batteries over regular 5 cell batteries. There's 20% more power potential right off the bat. And now they have your basic power tool needs covered pretty well. But they're expanding pretty slow. They have a lot to catch up to. The biggest issue for me is that you can only get them at Lowes or online. The closest Lowe's to me is 92 miles away. I really don't want to start investing in a platform I can't even put my hands on in the store first. I get that Lowes owns Flex, but I know I'm not the only one that won't buy into a tool system if I can't physically get my hands on some of it first. Gotta know how it feels in the hand first
We still have to wonder about how long Flex will be at Lowe's. Maybe the reset that's started in the power tools will give us a clue. One of my Lowe's was doing a reset last Monday with a full reset crew. We'll see what happens
I appreciate that cuz. It’s funny how we put “Tone” or “intent” to the words people use sometimes. I say “Goodbye” to my wife every morning before I leave for work, She’d be pissed if I didn’t! 😂
I have been a Hardcore Skil tools man since the late 1970s. My first Skil tool was the circular saw (7 1/2", Model 5150), which was destroyed when my house's garage was flooded. I purchased a Skil M12 (12 Volt) combo set two years ago and learned it isn't powerful enough for specific tasks around the house. I will try Flex Combo 24 Volt Battery tools in their combo set. It seems to me their tools are built with quality in mind. As you mentioned, they are reading/listening to what their customers want, i.e., a power adapter (AC to DC). Moreover, they offer a lifetime warranty on their brand. That right there sealed the deal with me. This old timer is sick of cheap plastic tools, and they're terrible for our environment. We are finding microplastics in the fish we eat and water, too. If you think I am bullshitting you, have a blood test to see what I am talking about. That's why I only drink from glass bottles.

I started off being really annoyed because I've been adding Flex into my lineup, well done on the bait and switch 😆 To hear they're here to stay but are moving to be more competitive is great news. I still don't see them as a one stop shop, but every single tool I've gotten in the line has been a beast and Chervon is great to deal with for warranty. No complaints.
Theres a couple of problems. First i have a big investment in dewalt, to change over to flex would cost me and i wouldnt ne able to replace everything. Longevity. How long they gonna be around for? Im still running 5ah batteries that suit me fine. Also 6ah and 9ah flex for hi gry tools. My grinder does not eat up 6ah flex batteries. They should be cheaper to entice sales and have the tools
When I started doing handyman work again I had to go Ryobi for all my stuff because it was cheap and had everything I needed the plane was always to slowly replace with Milwaukee I stumbled on to Flex one day at Lowe’s I got the drill driver starter kit and I loved it so much I decided to start replacing with Flex last year I moved to a small town with no Lowe’s so I’m back to replacing with Milwaukee but I will say I still like Flex the best
The "lifetime warranty" on power tools isn't for as long as you own the tool. It's for as long as the manufacturer is making THAT PARTICULAR tool. Since tool technology continuously improves every few years, the upgraded versions replace the previous version. If the manufacturer no longer makes THAT tool they will not replace it with the new and improved tool.
Still haven’t seen one person out in the field with flex anything down here in florida specially with the work we got after the hurricane in Florida’s 😂
Even with the special deals, FLEX tools are not selling. Even Lowe's doesn't give them a lot of energy in their stores. One of my issues with FLEX is that the ones I have seen, and I know this is purely anecdotal, but they have all burned up when being used on job sites. Several of those were right out of the box brand new. They also have the leaking battery issue to deal with. Yes, they have supposedly remedied that issue, but when something big like this happens really early in your lifetime on the market, it does not help with your reputation.
I want their 15 ga finish nailer. Ive had Milwaukee's fir the past few years and they wont repair it because its shot too many nails through it! Its ridiculous. Im moving over to all Flex tools.
So... Why is it that they can't simply offer their reciprocating saw with a stacked lithium battery? It's the only major tool I'm missing, and I've been waiting months for them to include the stacked lithium battery. I refuse to pay full price for their old battery tech, especially after the black goo issues. They need to do a re-release that completely centers around their stacked lithium stuff, and they need to further extend their lifetime warranty again. That warranty is more than half the reason I chose Flex over Milwaukee. If they are just going to screw over the small fan base they've accrued thus far, I'll find it difficult to continue my support for them.
Bottom line, they haven’t been around long enough or been in the hands of enough trades people. It took me nine years to purchase a Milwaukee tool after they launched M18. I liked Milwaukee tools before and I really wanted to get that V28 set they just released but I couldn’t afford it at the time and then they killed that lineup and started M18. I didn’t know why they went backwards from 28 to 18 V and I thought those batteries looked weird and I didn’t trust them anymore so I thought Makita is the only way to go. This was 2007 and I didn’t purchase my first Milwaukee M 18 until 2017 10 years After they launched M18 because I saw other guys using them and they put them in the supply houses to try out on barbecue events. They just released the fuel line and I bought a Sawzall and a drill, which I still have today, little by little I started collecting more of their tools. So maybe if they’re still around and going strong in 2030 I might consider picking up a flex drill or something.
Flex needs to work on their customer service, i experience it myself twice with their battery going out on me, i called in just to ask if i can send for repair as their battery was one year for the 12V and two of my batteries died2 months past the warranty, so i asked if they can repair but the lady on the other was not familiar with the topic so thatr ended quick and the second time i called in same story, long story short i ended up buy it instead lol so now im afraid to buy anything from Flex.

My only problem is the color scheme; the black/grey needs a little more green. On some jobs they’re easy to lose & hard to see. My opinion is it’s a bad idea to have black and grey tools
FLEX is alive😊👍💪 great story telling.
Thanks cuz! 👍🏻
I remember when you let me try it out one of the drills and it wasn’t even out on the market. You told me don’t say anything. I remember that thing running tons of power like it was plugged in.😍🥰
They need to do a trade in program. I’m a Dewalt guy for the most part but I would jump on flex if they had promotions.
i had kobalt xtr tools for the past 5 years. loved them. i build pole barns for a living so my stuff got used pretty heavily. iv always wanted to go with the flex but never could justify just switching tool lines. but christmas eva my tools unfortunately got stolen out of my truck. so i have finally go e to flex and i have been so impressed with the power and quality of the tools. looking forward to putting some hard hours on them. love the videos. you guys are the reason i even found out about flex.

The first flex radio sucked!
That those new framing guns that just came up it might be the game changer for this brand
20:25 minutes wasted
It was the price that kept me away last year when I needed to find a new platform. I have been burned before by brands abandoning their battery platform, which is why I am in the Ryobi line. But Hercules came out with their new brushless tool line and were giving them away if you purchased a battery and a charger. That made the choice a simple one.
That was kinda clickbaity. But message heard. FLEX 2025! ALSO FIRST!
Yoooo @kemalknight5505, notification gang in full effect! In honor of you “claiming first”, FIRST, you’re nominated to the elite level of notification squad captain! Now do your duty, share this video with 10 people right now! Thank you for your service!
Nice one Vince! Hello Flex 2025! Im a Dewalt platform guy but I might just pick up a Flex Impact with the new Lith Stack 2.0 for Christmas.
The battery is where it's at
Dude, that video gave me whiplash!
Also, i’m invested in Flex so… very happy about that!
Thanks to VCG, I bought, and still enjoy the FLEX 24v drill. The battery turned defective after a while (first time that ever happened), and I was going to give up on the brand. I saw a framing nailer, and was gonna try them again. Thankfully, I watched the whole video lol
I was gonna feel some kinda way if they were done…
If I were a pro, I'd totally be in the FLEX line. I'm a big fan of my Hercules, though.
Hello 👋 VCG
Flex is a very nice tool.
I find myself reaching for my Flex multi tool more often than my Fein or Bosch for quick tasks.
Aren't there long term reliability issues with the corded conversion adapters? Feel like dewalts? Winder if it's across the board.
Love my Flex tools! When it was time to replace brushed DeWalt tools and having dealt with poorly constructed new corded DeWalt tools I was ready to move up. Been saying goodbye to yellow tools for quite some time.
Great video Flex is what is next!!
Will do Ron, thanks brother! 👍🏻
@RidgidRon appreciate the insight Ron, thanks!
Im about 90% flex. I have almost everything up until its most recent tools and about 15 batteries. If a 12" miter and 10" table saw want to replace my metabos i wouldnt complain.
Flex just dropped some cordless polishers. If you’re into detailing…you know this is huge news as Flex has been an elite player in the car detailing space for decades, especially in Europe.
They invented multiple style of grinder and are a 100 year old company.
If they made the adapter actually work with every tool I'd switch everything to flex.
Good video Vance ,I just did a walk through today in Orlando Lowe's it's for sale as well as their framing gun, made a live video todsy the 2.0 stack lithium ,framing gun for sale in stores
Appreciate it! Thanks for the heads up, I haven’t seen the framer in the wild yet!

Thanks brother, you da man!
Bro bro way are you cray in flex the Intemenaitor is the best of the best always. For all the heathers take your hat's of wen you talk about flex
Gotta know how it feels in the hand first
Got the bandsaw 6ah battery deal, love it
We still have to wonder about how long Flex will be at Lowe's. Maybe the reset that's started in the power tools will give us a clue. One of my Lowe's was doing a reset last Monday with a full reset crew. We'll see what happens
Hey great vid man you had me worried there for a sec😅😅
I appreciate that cuz. It’s funny how we put “Tone” or “intent” to the words people use sometimes. I say “Goodbye” to my wife every morning before I leave for work, She’d be pissed if I didn’t! 😂
Way source in new York still has the $249 6 ah kits available. They ended at Ohio tools 9/30. I just got my 1/2 impact and 6 ah with charger today.
If they extend the Lt warranty im definitely buying a multiple tool kit next year
Flex tools are indeed some of the most powerful tools out there but my problem was the battery issues
So does this mean you have left red for gray?
Hello again, Vince and Vcg
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I enjoyed watching tonight's video. Hopefully, they continue this open dialog between producers and consumers. Otherwise, Good Bye. I don't have the time to play games. Please understand I'm not being rude but to the point. Again thank you 👌
Glad you enjoyed the video George. I think clear communication is key. Goodbye my friend, see you next time! 👍🏻
Vince, Flex should do like DEWALT, MILWAUKEE does have a sale on their power tolls let's say $99. 00 power drill Flex drill with battery and charger or Flex torque wrench with battery and charger $99.00. DEWALT AND MILWAUKEE have them all the time with HD, that's what I do when Home Depot puts them on sale. Maybe I miss the sale with Flex Tools. Vince, glad to see u.Take care. God Bless
@@MegaFranceschini If you live in Canada right now, you can grab great deals on Flex tools from the Rona chain of stores - significantly better than DeWalt, Milwaukee deals. Runs until Dec 31. I’m tempted to add another battery line to my list… tempted
I’ve been impressed with Flex… I’m actually phasing out my yellow tools for Flex.
My only problem is the color scheme; the black/grey needs a little more green.
Dewalt makes good corded stuff. But flex is a hell a lot better
@@themacsho dewalt flex stuff as good as corded and beats flex.
I hate the click bait title, but appreciated the content in the video.
Son of a gun... you got me. I fell for the bait 😅
Wrong!!
Hey I'm glad I watched the whole video 😅
Clickbait worse than the Phillies 2024 postseason!
Rally house got me…. Taking room up sitting in my closet now! 😢
How long do you think we will have to wait for a Flex Track Saw?
Hopefully they announce on VERY soon!
@@VCGConstruction I called them to suggest it a while back plus asked my local Flex rep for info on whether they have been talking about it or not.
FLEX stacked lithium batteries are insane ! wish i had 1 or 2
They need a laser level
I second this comment!
I’d love to invest in flex… however I need a mini compressor + dremel/rotary tool
In that case Milwaukee has all that… they just need to expand more
I'm glad. I wanna switch from Milwaukee to Flex. They will help me in the commercial hvac field greatly both in sheet metal and service work.
Plumbing apprentice here
Love Flex 😂 my master uses everything Milwaukee
FLEX says goodbye to the Vance that made this video and now says hi to the Vance who buys FLE products at DISCOUNT.
Still haven’t seen one person out in the field with flex anything down here in florida specially with the work we got after the hurricane in Florida’s 😂
Vince loves his clickbait lol
Even with the special deals, FLEX tools are not selling. Even Lowe's doesn't give them a lot of energy in their stores.
One of my issues with FLEX is that the ones I have seen, and I know this is purely anecdotal, but they have all burned up when being used on job sites. Several of those were right out of the box brand new. They also have the leaking battery issue to deal with. Yes, they have supposedly remedied that issue, but when something big like this happens really early in your lifetime on the market, it does not help with your reputation.
Well as a Milwaukee guy I actually bought a impact wrench and It works well but my little impact has nearly the same power sorry Flex
I adopted the flex line. I'm waiting for them to make a cordless rachet.
Dewalt has the option to cord its dual battery saws and has for a while as far as I know and it's also only for saws like flex
I want their 15 ga finish nailer. Ive had Milwaukee's fir the past few years and they wont repair it because its shot too many nails through it! Its ridiculous. Im moving over to all Flex tools.
Any upcoming vids on new ego tools from equip 2024?
You had me going cuz! 🥲🦾👈
Matt I appreciate you always showing up… means a lot to me!
Chervon, the parent company of FLEX, has been making pro-grade power tools in China for years.
I wish FLEX's twitter was active.

Metabo is what flex should be. I love how well made the flex tools are but the so are metabo and look at all the options for tools. And the adapter for 120v works on just about everything. The Hitachi merger only made things better and gave them more exposure to the American market.
Should have said this a concern video instead of goodbye bc this was rough to sit through lol. You remind me of my xwife
