    Thank you for this video! Just set up and installed a bubble magus curve 5 today - followed your instruction and was done very quickly! Agree the instructions are terrible!

    Great video, quick and straight to the point. I just got a second hand one as an upgrade to a really crappy SeaClone, it was mostly pre-assembled but no instructions so I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.
    Just got it installed and omg what a difference, started skimming right off the bat and WOW the silence of this thing is amazing! I haven't got much to compare to but I thought it was just going to be a little bit quieter, I'm pretty sure my return pump is louder than this thing!

    Love that skimmer. Quick suggestion, the bubble plate should be rotated so there are no holes over the pump outlet.

    I'm new to this and I brought 1 of these. All I can tell you is it works and pulls waste out great. I have about an inch of waste everyday.

      its a great skimmer! there are 2 thought processes when it come to skimming "wet skim" and "dry skim". its all determined by the thickness of the gunk in the skimmer cup. if its more clear and "watery" then its a "wet skim". if the gunk is dark and thick, then its a "dry skim".

    • @bigbhp1031
      @bigbhp1031 6 років тому +1

      PsyWAR Reefing it's dark and watery what gets pulled out.

    • @PsyWARAquariums
      @PsyWARAquariums  6 років тому

      sounds good to me! you could maybe turn it down a little bit. that way its not pulling out so much water and you won't have to top off so much. but if your happy with it stick with what you've got.

      PsyWAR Reefing ah ok that explains why I fill up my top off pretty much everyday. I have my skimmer on number 3. Thanks for the advice. I put up a video the other day of my tank. Got the fish I want I'm now focusing on getting more corals. Thanks again bud 👍

      PsyWAR Reefing hello mate. I turned my skimmer.down to number 2 yesterday today it's full to the top of brown water? Any ideas why that is? Should I raise the skimmer a couple of inches maybe?

    Hey im a super noob to this. Do you just out in the protein skimmer into the first chamber and plug it in? Is that how it works? Do i need to plumb the outlet to the next chamber(the refugium)?

    Hello i have a question plz give me answer ....my cabinet is too short in height only 15.5 inches but curve 5 height is 18.5 inches so i cannot stand the curve 5 skimmer straight in the sump so if i put it in 45 or 60 degree angluar position
    Then will it work well ????????????

    • @PsyWARAquariums
      @PsyWARAquariums  4 роки тому

      Rittik Sen no. Unfortunately it will not work. I’d suggest a nano slimmer or some sort of hang on skimmer.

    How long was it before the vibration of the skimmer destroyed that marine pure block?

    • @PsyWARAquariums
      @PsyWARAquariums  6 років тому

      dsinsocal The vibration hasn’t destroyed the block yet. In fact, I’ve done more damage to the block taking it in and out, in order to clean the sump. In addition, next time let’s try to keep the sarcstic tone and negativity to a minimum in the comments. It makes you appear to be a narcissist. Thanks for the comment!

    • @PsyWARAquariums
      @PsyWARAquariums  6 років тому

      dsinsocal and another thought... People trying to come up with new and creative solutions to perceived problems we encounter is what advances the hobby. Weather it work out or fails is irrelevant because even failure can add to the knowledge-base. The reality is, it’s harder to come up with the idea of putting a block under the skimmer in order to raise it and do a video on it than it is to hide behind a keyboard’s anonymity and make sarcastic comments on an obscure and niche UA-cam channel where your inane comment won’t be seen for what it is.

    • @dsinsocal
      @dsinsocal 6 років тому +1

      Wow. Someone's testy.
      I just saw this video but noticed it was 8 or 9 months old. I legitimately expected the skimmer to crumble that block after a few months of constant vibration, that's why I asked. Calm down, man. I've owned Marine Pure myself and know just how fragile it is, and I know several people who have complained about the blocks crumbling all on their own after a year or so, without a skimmer sitting on top of them. I was considering doing something similar in a new sump I'm building and was wondering how long I'd have before needing to replace it.
      The fact that yours is still in tact is miraculous to me. But it's good news, considering these things aren't cheap.
