I have the Powerbeats Pro and once I saw the newer Beats Fit Pro…with its reduced battery life, awkward volume adjustments, and the imperfect ear wing fit for extreme activity… I quite literally went out and bought a second pair of Powerbeats Pro.

I’m on my second pair of Powerbeats pro. Got my first pair about 4 years ago. They may not have every single feature that the newest headphones have, but I love them. Exceptional battery life, super secure, very comfortable, easy to use and they have great sound.

I like the run focus of these ear buds reviews. For daily office use, the review would obviously skew towards the Beats Fit Pro. But when the focus is strictly on working out, the must-have tickboxes narrow down considerably. We don't care about fancy Dolby Theater surround tricks. We don't care about audio sharing. We don't care about switching between 10 devices simultaneously. On a run I need #1) a durable waterproof earbud #2) a secure & comfortable fit #3) VOLUME CONTROLS! #4) 'OK' sound (don't need audiophile qlty b/c who needs audiophile quality when you're breathing like a horse?). #5) access to the Assistant on my phone for hearing urgent notifications/Msging/querying info. Those are my only hard requirements in a running headphone. I don't place any weight on ANC, transparency modes, or fancy EQ settings. Those are nice-to-have 'quality of life' & 'safety' features, but I'd never pay extra for them. I'm an adult; I can manage my own safety profile w/o relying on a false sense of security provided by various transparency modes. As for ANC, I'm not riding a subway when I go RUNNING so ANC seems pointless. I run along Lake Michigan, & on dedicated running paths, & on 25 mph city streets, . I'm not running along I-90 (UK translation: the M1) so ANC is simply a pointless battery drain.

I have been running with the Powerbeats Pro more than 2000 km. The fit has been great with Comply foam tips. I like that they don’t isolate so much that you can’t hear traffic. They have also been my everyday headphones and the integration with Apple devices is great. The real buttons means that you can pause the music and adjust volume easely.
I was looking forward to Beats Fit Pro, but I fear that they might not be as comfortable and touch buttons will never be as good as the buttons on the Powerbeats Pro. I like that they are much more discrete though. I allready have the Beoplay E8 Sport and they probably sound better than the Beats Fit Pro.

I had both. Beats Fit Pro is the clear winner for me. Powerbeats had so many issues connecting and charging. That can’t happen. If they didn’t have those issues, they’d be just fine, but even one time of not charging would ruin a run and be discouraging. Beats fit pro fit me great and I have no issues with them even getting close to falling out while running. I use them for 60-70 miles of running a week, plus maybe an hour each day of doing stuff around the house / lawn work. Worth their weight in gold if you use them as much as I do. I will say I noticed them more at first than I do now. Just did a 20 miler last weekend and I never noticed them. Buy them if you’re a runner!

I’ve very interested to know if the Beats fit pro are suffering from those same issues 9 months after you have had them. I’d greatly appreciate it!

@@quekelley5277 I've also had massive connectivity and charging issues with the Powerbeats. Even with regular cleaning, making sure they are securely in the case, double-checking when the case is closed, I would get that one bud would randomly disconnect from the case and the battery would run out. When you take them out of the case, there is an issue with them not connecting and then only one bud is working. This has caused me extreme frustration when I am at the gym. If not for these issues, the Powerbeats would be the best thing ever. I've done extensive research and it seems that this is a common issue, or rather a design flaw. Such a shame really. Hopefully the Fit Pros don't have these issues.

@@louiskruger7904 I feel your pain bro😭🤛🏽 I was forced to retire them a month ago and even though my sennheiser momentum 3’s and soundcore liberty pro 3’s go hard (sound is impeccable on both and have was!!) they fall out my ear’s constantly which is a shame for such a quality watch earbuds. Im afraid to buy another Beat earbud since they can’t seem to get their crap together lol. But still the powerbeats will always have a special place in my heart.

I have a Powerbeats Pro got them in 2019 when I first started running they are amazing and fits perfectly. Great battery life, but they have poor reliability within a year my left buds stopped charging. After every run I have spend 20-30 mins fiddling with it to make sure it’s charging. Otherwise it will drain battery. I got replaced by Apple but same issue persists after one year. I ended up buying Powerbeats which is Bluetooth but there is wire between left and right.

That’s why I’m leery about getting another pair of Beats earbuds. I went through the same exact thing and I read that Apple got sued because of this by a group of customers.

For me, I like good noise cancellation to filter out treadmill/traffic noise when listening to podcasts. That rules out the Powerbeats Pro. The Beats Fit Pro check that box, but I have experienced fit issues. So, neither have been great for me. I can also sympathize with your experience of the touch control on the Beats Fit Pro - every time I adjust the fit, I get a random press which stops my podcast from playing. I was particularly frustrated the other day when it reset to the start of a 4 hour podcast when I was half way through 😂

Powerbeats for volume control. They suck with a hat or glasses. Beats fit pro for sound quality, portability, versatility with noise cancellation and transparency. I like the fit of the beats fit pro better.

You also forgot to mention that the beats fit pro can do wireless charging from the case where the Powerbeats pro cannot
