  • The second 8800 has arrived!! This harvest we will be running 2 new 8800 claas combines pre-series models on tracks. Last year I operated our JD S790 and I am very excited to be operating the 8800 this year. We have always had claas combines on the farm (our last one being a 780), and I will have lots to learn from all the new features of these pre-series models.

Congratulations. Very impressive. Can you give us a walk around and explain how it works. It's better now while it's still clean and everything is clearly visible.

CLAAS combines like LEXION 8000 are using the CLAAS APS HYBRID system. That means combination of conventional threshing with an accelerated pre separation drum in the front and a twin rotor for separation behind. Also the smaller brother TRION is using that technology. APS HYBRID is part of most LEXION combines since 1995. APS WALKER is also available for LEXION 5000 and 6000 series in Europe and some other markets, using same threshing unit but with 5 or 6 walkers instead of rotary separation.

Why do you say these are pre series? 2023 should not pre series.

they are pre-series machines. You can order them now but until January no changes. Any changes they add from people that are using the pre-series machines (like me) with the feedback we give, will be added to the next machines after January
