I think it’s a great machine. I really like the automation and the pre-separation. I really don’t like how complex they are. Way more moving parts than the John Deere. I also could never see paying $800,000 for one. They re probably in line with Deere and case for that size of a machine.
@@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 i used to run one back in Alberta, and they are a good solid machine. They can be intimidating but if you have an experienced operator you can do a lot.with that machine being a conventional in the front and rotary in the back. Changing concave is wayyyy easier too haha
This is a great way for Claas to get more exposure to the ag community. It would be helpful if they would give an approximate cost... this applies to the JD, IHNH, and others as well.
What cost? Purchase price? Cost of ownership? Cost of less grain loss or dockage? Most lexion stores have a free support person. Different type of dealer customer relationship. I bought an old used lexion and as a JD mechanic i am so glad i did.
I find it funny how he gives all the dimensions in feet and inches , yet the whole machine was built and designed in metric units! Cool to see such a big machine working, I think you would halve your harvest time with one of those!
great stuff Carl! I've always liked the Claas brand. I've been looking at their twin rotory hay rake for years. we have a single rotor rake at the moment and it takes forever to rake a field up for hay. Who is flying that drone when your driving the combine???
Actually I had someone else drive the combine for a spell so I could get good drone footage. Normally I fly it myself in auto track mode but the wind was so strong I didn’t trust it. My buddy has a Krone twin rotor rake and it’s pretty sweet. I know Kuhn also makes a good one.
I should talk about this in an upcoming vid. I think the main advantage is that pre-separator. But I really don’t like how complicated that machine is. There are so many more moving parts. They are assembled in Omaha Nebraska and we have a dealer an hour and a half away. But they have service guys that live all over and the closest one to us is 20 miles.
I got to run their first fully tracked machine in 89 ,I believe, and it had that same silly wiper setup. Everyone who came by for a ride stated their dislike for it .
But did you turn that wiper on and watch it go round and round in a circle! 😂. That this was a impressive machine! We just demoed that baby with Scott. It either had to be before or after you just did.
Dodge Brothers Farm and Ranch we did. Like you said the power is amazing on them. We could get a smaller machine and do what two of the Deere’s does. The samples were great. And although different at first the joystick actually felt a bit more ergonomic.
@Monk Farmer everything has become so over priced a cash crop farmer can't afford it we have the early version cat combine 475 and a 480 the trash fan in the 475 is destroyed and we bought parts so no point in trading them in for a newer series especially if they ain't gonna give us anying for the 2 exactly why a lot of us are going back to mechanical over these ones with electrical
What a beast! Great machine. Still loving the drone footage!
Thanks rob!
Great Claas demo Carl. That thing is an absolute beast! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks it was fun!
I bet its super exciting to run those new equipments!
Yes!
I,m truly impressed that 2 Americans can actually pronounce Claas correctly
Haha. Half the people who have asked me about it pronounce it KLOWSE 😂
Grain sample looked super clean
Yeah there was a small bit of split cobs but overall better than the Deere
Nice machine! Congratulations!
Thanks!
Noticed the Claas was quieter then you mention it :) I believe they're assembled in the states, German engineering at it's best.
Think it’s in Omaha Nebraska right?
@@DjDday7364 Not sure which state, i'm from down under and was asked if i wanted the Euro or US spec on tractors.
Omaha is correct.
Yes they are very quiet. My wife and I have toured the plant in Omaha Nebraska where they are assembled
They ship the sections separate and then put them together with options. Avoid import tarrifs
Thats a verry nice combine 👌🏼
Yes it is!
Really nice combine
It sure is!
Wow, that is a big machine. Back in the day I thought my JD 95 was a good sized combine. 😊
I still use a 95 and did last years harvest with it. I know a fellow that harvested 1000 tonnes of sorghum with one 95 in one season, last year.
I remember running dads 7700 and thinking I was king of the world.
Pretty impressive machine! Are they price competitive with JD & IH Case? They seem to have better features... your opinion?

great video that is one really big machine, very interesting
Thanks John!
That was a awesome hat Scott was wearing. Oh yea the combine wasn't bad either.
ANF baby!!
Nice honest evaluation, i have never run a combine but have run the Claas 880 chopper years ago with an 8 row Kemper head and the Claas grass pickup.
Nice machines 👍
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
I think i just felt in love
Careful, she’s expensive 🤣

Boy if we had two more trucks and a bigger grain handling and drying setup we would be in business!
@@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 And another 10,000 acres. That would put you up there with Stark.
Good morning!
Hey!
i want three love the autolube they are made for custom opreators
It’s really nice!
Claas is the best of all
I liked it but the sure were a lot more moving parts than the John Deere.

It is an efficient work horse like a german tank
So, when are you going to switch products?
Hard to say. There’s a lot that goes into that decision
Great video as always. What di you think is the best advantage of the Claas over Red or Green? Where is it made and would service be an issue ?

Look like doing a good job
It’s nice 👍
New toys are getting it done
👍
So the class can process as much as the deere x9.
That’s a great question. I know Deere claims 7,200 bushels per hour in corn.id have to do some math.
The x9 has 7200 bushel/hour. Lexion 8000 series is 8,000bushel/hour.
Are the rear wheels just for steering? I didn't see a cup holder. Where will you park your coffee?
Ah yes the there is a cup holder on the wall. And the rear wheels are also capable of putting power to the ground of necessary
Wow. How impressive, whats the price tag on that Klous?
$800K
@@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 wow.. that's a great investment... But steep.

That was really Cool! nice Video! Thank you for sharing :-) Were your seat belts!!! Stay safe and healthy ;-)

Hey Carl,
We are having some problems with our corn molding. Can you recommend a good but not crazy expensive humidity tester?
Our GAC 500XT would be worth about $500. It’s pretty old and outdated but it works good.
Carl how many acres do you farm
About 1800

Wow to big for a 12 row head. That is almost funny in a way. Nice hat Scott.
Yeah I liked his hat too

Very interesting. Kinda like Elon Musk giving a guided tour of one of his space vehicles ... but I comprehend the gist of things.
