Haha yes, I get at my wife for leaving handles hanging out over the edge, I don't want burns on my stomach, legs, feet even if I am an adult! It's a good safety tip, even without children in a home.

There were a couple other PSAs around the same time, one had Daffy Duck and it was about fire prevention, and the other had Tweety Bird and was about the dangers of hot water in general. Part of the animation of the pot from this one was re-used in the Tweety one.
That's Right and kids listen to Bugs Bunny's kitchen safety rules it's very important that you listen and pay attention about being safe especially staying away from pots with hot boiling water that can really burned your hand which is not very good. Remember what Bugs Bunny said, So to stay out of hot water, keep those pot handles toined in aka turned in not out.

If we were experiencing covid in the 80s, i would imagine having more service announcments like this for kids and grown ups. Its sad if u think about cuz these commercials were intended for "latch key" kids who were coming home to no one. But on the bright side these commercials would inform and even make songs in ways of informing the general public

Abcdede Flims Inc. These characters were 35 years before Dora. There was no easy way to mix cartoon with live action at the time.
