We get it. "You don't solve anything with violence." It's Spider-Man. It's not funny to be the 75th comment to point this out.
Officially considered 'lost' by the Lost Media Wiki (until now), here's a tape I've had for about 15 years. Because it's an educational Spider-Man cartoon, it was only distributed to schools and libraries. I worked at a library while we were transitioning to DVDs and Blu-rays, so I brought home some of the stuff that was headed for the dumpster. Unfortunately, this is only one tape of a set of four, and we never had the others.

It‘a true what they say in the Bible “Harmful words pierce like a sword but the younger of the wise beings healing” I take that verse to great heart because when I constantly hear harsh words I feel like someone is attacking me without mercy. When nice and truthful things are said it can heal wounds caused by those horrible things
To be fair, he was just listing one example and then they talked about the physical one they were on about, plus again it’s just a short episode, they don’t have time to cover everything
The truly sad part is,
There were probably plenty of kids who saw this, realized what went on at home wasn’t right, and still told nobody.
@josephmoore2595 Uh yeah. There were probably even people that saw this, did say something, and still didn't get help from anyone.
@josephmoore2595 ya sadly fear overcomes and then they are left alone and hated even more...when the attempt to tell falls through. even spidey cant solve the problem. its just how it is with abuse. even with little awareness episodes like that out there some kids just dont have the courage and
are scared.
Yep and I was one of them well back then I didn't think I was I thought I was a bad kid because all the crap Mom put in my head that made me think I was a bad kid
I'm not sure if we should look at it that way.
Rather...at least some kids who watched this might've gained the courage to open about it and ended up making their lives better....
If it only helped one child to seek help it was worth it.
"You don't solve anything with violence"
*beats otto so bad his body quits working*
And yet, violence is the only way Spidey can stop the supervillains that loot and plunder the city.
Also with the green goblin after he killed Gwen Stacy lmao
Peter, you hypocrite! You beat the shit out of your best friend's dad on a regular basis.
Well it should be rephrased: "Leave violence for people that uses it for good"
Otto got him back for that one....
For everyone joking about "you don't solve anything with violence", this was made for real life educational purposes to aid children possibly suffering from abuse. In real life Spiderman isn't going to come through the window and beat the shit out of the abuser. Sometimes young children need a colorful cartoon character to get a point across to them.
There was a Superman comic where Superman saves a little boy from his abusive father who locked him in the basment and even in that in universe comic Superman didn't mercilessy beat the shit out of the day
Kill everyone
Spiderman could of still get the abusive father arrested and talk to Maria, just like Superman did in the comic. But he didnt, which is a mayor flaw in this cartoon. I get the message but when a literal crime fighter is aware of danger they are suppose to act fast.
@@Thunderblock7889 Now that you say that, yeah, it would have been better if the kids told Spider-man, the trusted adult, and he contacted the authorities. Would've been more accurate to the character while keeping the positive message.

Or Ghost Rider 😂
@@jobberboyjakob9870 Or even better, The Punisher. 😆
Murdering people isn't the best option when dealing with abuse.
I think the main reason Spider-Man didn't do anything when he saw the girl getting abused was to show kids that when you're in an abusive situation, you can't rely on a superhero to swoop in and save you. However, Spider-Man totally would and should have gotten involved because it would show kids that there is at least someone who can help you.

Man, why was I never shown this in school? I mean, my family is awesome, not saying they did anything, but I saw PSAs like this in school, and my inner Spidey fan and my Dad's inner Spidey fan wanted the webslinger to swing into abusive parents' houses and beat and web them in any of those cartoons

AlsoSpiderman:"SHOCKER! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!"
