So, so you think you can tell
    Heaven from hell?
    Blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
    Your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
    Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a leading role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
    We're just two lost souls
    Swimming in a fish bowl
    Year after year
Running over the same old ground
    What have we found?
    The same old fears
    Wish you were here
Songwriters: Roger Waters / David Gilmour

I lost my Grandfather at age 16 and then my soulmate at 25 then I just lost my Dear Mother June 27 and this song reminds me of all of them.
You brought tears to my eyes and you did such a good job.
I have only had those three people who ever loved me like they did and I am now quite alone, no relatives on my dads side and I was never really aquatinted with my Moms family as I was adopted at age 7 and never seen them.
So you will never know how strong this song hit me, i enjoy all you do and this song I will always go to to remember and to always have those I’ve lost close to my heart through song.

How not to think about somemone you miss by listening to this? Lost my Dad in 2021. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan, he went to see them live many times. He used to make us listen to them hours and hours at home when we were kids. He brought me to my very first show (Nirvana, 1994) and this was (and remains) the best son/father moment I ever lived. I miss him so much. Oh Dad I wish you were here.

My dad’s best friend passed away a few years ago. My dad had been friends with him since they were young kids and had been inseparable since. He was the sweetest and kindest man knew. I always remember fondly staying at his house for sleepovers and collecting eggs from his chickens, and playing games outside with his kids. This was the song that played at his funeral. Whenever the song comes on, my dad plays it full volume, yelling out the lyrics for the world to hear. He’s got the album cover tattooed on his back, and I drew two little ghosts in a fish bowl, which he plans to get tattooed as well. I’ll miss you Drew, you the greatest, the funniest and the kindest guy I’ll ever meet ❤️❤️❤️

I always found this track to be one of the most emotionally impactful pieces I've ever heard, when you really think about what the lyrics mean and feel the tone of the song building with those realizations, its hard not to be flooded with emotion and get swept up in it. I've watched a lot of Frank's covers, and I love that certainly in this particular instance you can tell he's making the same emotional connection to the song. Seems like he is getting swept up in its beauty like the rest of us, and reflecting on the long and fantastic life he's lived on this earth. I hope to be able to enjoy that same precious meaning, emotion, and reflection when I reach his age, listening back on this musical masterpiece.

Finding your UA-cam channel after it recommended your No Surprises cover has been one of the few good things about 2020.
Thank you so much for singing for us all.

What I am hearing and seeing from Mr. Watkinson is a result of his years of listening to music that he grew up with. What we call the classics from the 70's and 80s. Remember, he was 20yrs old in 1971, I was 10 LOL.
    Awesome!

I couldn't meet my grandparents because they died too early. Somehow your voice reminds me of them. Older people are a gift and they are sacred. I am 17 years old and your music impacts me a lot, it makes me reflect on how I am living. Thank you for still here, and thank you for giving me the opportunity to listen to you. I don't know you but I love you as a human, I value this very much. I hope you have a happy life, and that life treats you well

Brother, I hope you can discover what this MEANT TO US when it first came out. It was almost sacred in its musical and political truth. I am so happy that the youth can hear OUR music, be compelled by it, and seek out it's meaning. God bless little bro, "wish u were here"

It's 3:43am in the morning. I can't sleep. It has been weeks. The doctor says it's all in my head.. the acid reflux.. the heaviness.. the occasional episodes when I can't breathe at night and gasp for air for hours like a fish out of water. Doc says it's anxiety doing bad stuff with my body. I lost my grandpa two months back to COVID-19. I am not in my hometown. I never got to see him.. be with him as he lay dying. I never got to burst like a heavy dark cloud the way I should have. It's 3:47am. Listening to you gives me a strange calm I can't put into words. God bless you, sir. Wish my grandpa were here. Wherever he is, I know he's in a better place. God bless him. It's 3:50am. I'll keep listening. Your music helps me. Thank you, Frank.

Jesus Frank, you had me at "So, so you think you can tell...". My GOD brother, you put so much PAIN, experience and knowledge into those lyrics that Rodger and David are spinning in their graves (prematurely!). I praise u brother for all the heartfelt meaning that u put into this cover - GOD BLESS!

One of my best friends died three weeks ago, yesterday was his 18th birthday, I just really miss him, I know there are a lot of people who love me, but it feels so lonely without him, my heart feels empty in a way that I can't explain. He was very sick and with a lot of pain, and I was just really sad that after all his courage and effort, his body just couldn't make it. This song makes me think of him, you played it beautifully, I'm really thankful.
