I agree totally--ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE! Starlin's art is always a pleasure to behold, even today, but THIS art on Warlock was nothing less than stellar beauty (no space pun intended). As I mentioned in your previous video, my first exposure to Warlock was via those Herb Trimpe HULK issues that wrapped up his original title's run. I also saw that Marvel Team-Up Issue with Warlock long before I read the Starlin Warlock issues. Nice that it was included in this Masterworks collection. My acquisition of these issues all came from back issue bins when I was in my late 20s during the early 90s. Warlock (as well as Marvel's Captain Marvel) was a title I didn't really see on the stands during the Bronze Age when I was younger. During the 70s, I hadn't discovered comic shops yet, so most of my comics came from newsstands and spinner racks, and those outlets mostly carried mainstream titles (Spidey, Iron Man, Avengers, Hulk, etc.) Thanos aside, that Star-Thief 2-parter was also a very slick story. Excellent video! Great memories!
My problem with the cosmic material is that the so called aliens all have human emotions, motivations and usually speak perfect English. But after watching your video Drew I will pick up this material in the gallery edition format for the beautiful art. I will give the cosmic stuff another try. Great video buddy!
Cool show , Starlin had a Cosmic mind, and so did Ditko! For someone who probably didn't do psychedelics, Ditkos Doctor Strange was a trip, And that Ayn Ran stuff he was into, I never read that stuff so I don't have a super opinion on that, but it's hard for me to follow some woman from the '50s ideology, there is more than just right and wrong, there's a lot of things that can be involved in stuff, It's not that simple in my opinion, I need to read some more starling I haven't read much of it, but I don't like to read stuff that's sad either though, like Captain Marvel getting cancer I don't want to read that It's just doesn't seem like fun no matter how good it might be, anyway I'm really enjoying the show!
Oh, I almost forgot this fun fact which some on here may already know: Starlin, Steve Englehart and Steve Gerber all knew each other. I think I read somewhere that they were room mates at some point. And many of their character creations were all the result of drug trips (Thanos, Shang-Chi, Howard the duck).
I remember reading some articles about the (alleged) use of drugs to tap into crazy comic stories. What's also weird is that I recently discovered that Gerber never drank nor did drugs, which is a stunning revelation. He was a narcoleptic and he never planned what the next issue of Defenders, Howard the Duck, Omega, etc would be. He'd just finish the last panel and wing it as he went along. Just like Kirby! I don't know many creators that could do a storyline (like Defenders' The Headmen) without making a grid like Byrne did for a year of Fantastic Four.
@@drewgeraci8434 - That is krazy! Yeah, Gerber's DEFENDERS storylines were quite layered and intricate. I can believe that he'd managed to pull off stream-of-consciousness writing. Makes you wonder how many of the articles we read about these creators are true and how many are just speculation.
When I first got back into collecting, those are the books that I picked up...plus, early Him/Adam warlock, early Cap(Mar-Vell) and early Silver Surfer books. Kane, Starlin, and Buscema, get me to feeling nostalgic. I appreciate your time on this.🪐⚡✨

Warlock, and The Soul Gem, hit me in a similar fashion, as Elric, and Stormbringer.
