I had a cop yell at me like that once. I was 16 on my way to school and my windows were fogged. I asked my friend in the passenger seat if the road was clear to pull out into traffic. He said yes so I pulled out DIRECTLY in front of a motorcycle cop. He locked up his rear tire and slid passed the front of my car. He made me pull over into a 7-11 parking lot and SAID SOME THINGS THAT MADE SATAN BLUSH. Then he got on his bike and left. I'm now 50yrs old...I still look to make sure the lane is clear before I pull into traffic. I've never had an at-fault accident. That was policing.

I was riding into work one morning. Cruising my Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle. I-84 east into Hartford. Saw the signs light up with Red and blues. I was doing 90 mph. Oh Crap. I pulled over. Connecticut State Trooper in a Ford Taurus cruiser. Shut bike off and put kickstand down. Trooper walks over. Sir your taillight is out. I was like oh crap. I definitely will get that fixed asap. Damn potholes broke another one. He laughed. Then he said...Oh, and please get your speedometer fixed too.😂😂😂He made my day. THANK YOU, CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE.
A Mass trooper claimed he had to pursue me at high speeds when he pulled me over in the left lane. He screamed at me for not immediately pulling over because I switched to the right lane first. A NH trooper once searched me claiming that I was highly suspicious for going the speed limit in a place where people typically go much faster. I never had problems with troopers in ME, VT, CT or RI.
He is an annoying tick, the trooper gave him a good reality check and let him go instead of ruining his life. He still had to open his mouth at the end by making that remark, he will never learn smh

The majority of State Troopers I’ve encountered were completely professional and well trained. This guy has 14 months till retirement and sounds as though it’s taken its toll.
That state trooper is great, in my opinion. We have a lot of undisciplined, pot-bellied losers in this country, who would be a disappointment to "The Greatest Generation". If you don't like getting yelled at, start by keeping your mouth shut.

Omg let me tell you as a veteran first responder working for New York City for years on years and finally close to retirement, I can tell you right now this guy spoke my soul and the souls of ALL the men and women in uniform that have to deal with that percentage of people here in entitled New York City. He's not only stern, he's also expressive and he good cop. He definitely has heart and really doesn't want to see the driver get a ticket or go to jail, so he's giving him another chance by letting him go after a 5 minute scolding/warning.

The cop could've given him a ticket for obstructing investigation (yes its a real thing, this law not only applies to these situations but also applies to drivers not having driver's license, and it wastes the law enforcers' time, which is considered obstructing their jobs). But despite this, the cop let him go, because he just wanted to make a point, rather than charging him with couple hundred $$$ as he could tell the driver's not the wealthiest. I'd say this was rather as civilized this human cop could do. And I completely give my respect for him. As someone who does client facing jobs, I can picture the amount of BS this man had to go through. The driver on the other hand, he had the nerve to post a video to complain? I do it all the time in front of cops but mine is wrapped in tobacco then wrapped into a paper so it doesn't smell like straight weed. I've been pulled over as a passenger and I smoked a joint right in their face and never even questioned if the driver was smoking too. (The driver wasn't btw). Plus most stoners been driving high long before it was legal. Nobody cares.
Few reasons. 1. Minimum age is FAR TOO LOW. 2. No ensuring of an obtained education prior to being allowed to use. 3. Very limited or no usable life experience prior to being allowed to use. As you can see from at least one response, many users do not have a working understanding of our laws, much less reality itself. Many users can not process the fact that even an automotive garage will alert police to suspected use while operating a motor vehicle. The very same as if it were an open beer can in the cup holder. Many users do not understand that a DUI is a DUI regardless of the active ingredient. Many even go so far as to make outright false claims in an effort to avoid reality. False claims such as "nobody cares". MANY care quite a bit. Many users of the plant might I add. It is the fools who ruin things. And if pot use while driving and being high while driving become a rampant problem for society, laws risk being added or outright changed. Drivers today are not more educated, more experienced then drivers were 30 years ago. Their fathers could easily have drove just fine while high. But anyone not driving under the influence easily detects today's stoners. They're just too high to understand, and are far too self entitled to even attempt to try to care.
Let me ask this. Why are you allowed to drive to a bar, drive to a concert or sporting event and drink but not drink and drive. Even though at big events like sports they turn a complete blind eye to drinking and driving, literally everyone pulling out is under the influence.

DUI is an established crime which has LONG been entirely illegal. A person is capable of NOT driving under the influence of any substance. It is up to the individual to understand NOT to get behind the wheel when they have been drinking. No concert, bar, nor sporting event changes that legally binding responsibility. You have both publicly admitted to as well as basically bragged about knowingly being a danger to others on the roadway. One day your luck will run out. One day you will be sitting in a cell with roughly 20 others, remembering the day you publicly admitted to intentional DUI. You will be sitting there wondering if your public comments are known and might be used against you in court. Make better decisions. Stop placing the public at risk. By the way, being allowed to drive to any place which sells and/or serves alcohol does NOT mean the driver is then supposed to consume alcohol on any level before driving away. And if they do, it certainly does not mean they are to drive before the effects have subsided. It's not consumption which is the crime. It is all about "Under the Influence". The "UI" in DUI.

Why do you have a problem with him calling out an officers illegal actions? If I saw a cop violating traffic laws without lights and sirens and then he wanted to pull me over for violating traffic laws I would also call him out on it. If he’s not gonna follow the law then why would he pull me over for doing the same?

I have the same story, my dad too only change in the story you told was that I joined the Navy. But my old man was a Marine in Vietnam and then became a county cop. The RDC's in boot camp (Navy) were soft compared to my Dad! I remember laughing when they yelled at other recruits, Did a lot of push ups in that 9 weeks! lol

I had a cop yell at me like that once. I was 16 on my way to school and my windows were fogged. I asked my friend in the passenger seat if the road was clear to pull out into traffic. He said yes so I pulled out DIRECTLY in front of a motorcycle cop. He locked up his rear tire and slid passed the front of my car. He made me pull over into a 7-11 parking lot and SAID SOME THINGS THAT MADE SATAN BLUSH.
Then he got on his bike and left.
I'm now 50yrs old...I still look to make sure the lane is clear before I pull into traffic. I've never had an at-fault accident. That was policing.

The cop could've given him a ticket for obstructing investigation (yes its a real thing, this law not only applies to these situations but also applies to drivers not having driver's license, and it wastes the law enforcers' time, which is considered obstructing their jobs). Why can’t people comprehend that even though weed is legal in most states it doesn’t mean that you can smoke weed while driving a car
I do it all the time in front of cops but mine is wrapped in tobacco then wrapped into a paper so it doesn't smell like straight weed. I've been pulled over as a passenger and I smoked a joint right in their face and never even questioned if the driver was smoking too. (The driver wasn't btw). Plus most stoners been driving high long before it was legal. Nobody cares.
One time I was drunk and the cops were called on me and my gf and I told the cops that we've been drinking and they still let us leave no problem.
Few reasons.
1. Minimum age is FAR TOO LOW.
2. No ensuring of an obtained education prior to being allowed to use.
3. Very limited or no usable life experience prior to being allowed to use.
As you can see from at least one response, many users do not have a working understanding of our laws, much less reality itself. Many users can not process the fact that even an automotive garage will alert police to suspected use while operating a motor vehicle. The very same as if it were an open beer can in the cup holder. Many users do not understand that a DUI is a DUI regardless of the active ingredient.
Many even go so far as to make outright false claims in an effort to avoid reality. False claims such as "nobody cares".
MANY care quite a bit. Many users of the plant might I add. It is the fools who ruin things. And if pot use while driving and being high while driving become a rampant problem for society, laws risk being added or outright changed.
Drivers today are not more educated, more experienced then drivers were 30 years ago. Their fathers could easily have drove just fine while high. But anyone not driving under the influence easily detects today's stoners. They're just too high to understand, and are far too self entitled to even attempt to try to care.
Let me ask this. Why are you allowed to drive to a bar, drive to a concert or sporting event and drink but not drink and drive. Even though at big events like sports they turn a complete blind eye to drinking and driving, literally everyone pulling out is under the influence.

DUI is an established crime which has LONG been entirely illegal. A person is capable of NOT driving under the influence of any substance. It is up to the individual to understand NOT to get behind the wheel when they have been drinking. No concert, bar, nor sporting event changes that legally binding responsibility.
You have both publicly admitted to as well as basically bragged about knowingly being a danger to others on the roadway. One day your luck will run out. One day you will be sitting in a cell with roughly 20 others, remembering the day you publicly admitted to intentional DUI. You will be sitting there wondering if your public comments are known and might be used against you in court.
Make better decisions. Stop placing the public at risk.
By the way, being allowed to drive to any place which sells and/or serves alcohol does NOT mean the driver is then supposed to consume alcohol on any level before driving away. And if they do, it certainly does not mean they are to drive before the effects have subsided. It's not consumption which is the crime. It is all about "Under the Influence". The "UI" in DUI.
