I got the bmmpr alarm which makes no noise and sends your phone alerts if your car is touched, started, stopped... gives you gps locations and everything. Only problem is it draws a slight charge as it plugs into the OBD2 port (or splitter cable to hide it) when car is off... then I read in the instructions you might want to use a tender. I found a usb bank and jump starter by this company (battery tender) at wal mart the next day for 80 bucks so phew no more AAA... but i still need something like this video shows to constantly keep my battery charged. I still do like this alarm with the right combo I can track a thief... Thanks for the info dude!!!
I had been a Deltran fan for many years, but no more. I purchased a Tender Plus, Junior, and jump pack in late 2019. I keep my atv battery on the Junior all winter, my Plus on my lawn tractor all winter, and both failed this past Spring. The jump pack wiring sheathing literally peeled away from where it connects to the unit. When I contacted Deltran customer service I was politely advised to send an email to them. They "promised" to send me new units. No such luck. Long story short, Deltran 's qualify control is clearly circling the drain.
I have this charger and it breathed new life into my dead, Panasonic 12volt auto battery. The charger performed fantastically well! I highly recommend it. Sadly, I accidentally drained the same battery overnight! I have the dead battery on my charger, again. It was NOT the fault of the charger. It was my fault for leaving on my radio for 18 hours.
Very nice job young man, just got a new battery tender and wanted some info, bought at harbor freight they didn't know much about them clicked on your tutorial and it was very helpful thank you for your time.P.S. you are a very organized mechanic just noticing how you take care of your tools.great job.Jeff W. Why does my mike battery keep dying even though i keep it on charge? I buy a battery evey year because none of these charges work to maintain. Ps. Covid..... is a lie its all lies not real
If it is 3 amps out, it is around 0.3 amps in. That means it will work work fine on 50 ft of the the skinniest lamp extension cord. The maximum reccomended charge rate for lead acid batteries is 0.1 C. That means if it is a 20 amp hr battery the maximum charge should be no more than 2 amps. That means it could be exceding the recommended max. charge rate for a lot of bike batteries.I have always used the 1.25 amp Battery tender plus. I would check with them (Deltran)before hitting a less than 30 amp hr battery with three amps. I have use mine on AGM type bike batteries and got 11 years out of the last one, a Yuasa.
I had a Yuasa battery go super dead (5V) because of a stuck switch on a Multi. Battery Tender couldn't make a dent in it, just sat there flashing an error light. Hit it with a 10A charger (10 Ah battery) outside of the bike and now it's back to working normally. Good idea or bad idea, not sure, but my bike starts now after the battery sat around for a day to see if it wanted to do something weird.
I been in new car dealer showrooms and they use a battery charger that small and nice looking. I ask the parts department about buying one the guy said it sold to “the trade”, not available for consumers to buy!
Then there more then likely referring to some special product made by miller, snap on etc... there are a lot of products available on the public market to include the battery tender.
Is there any way the battery tender is faulty and is over charging my battery? My battery was “boiling” so I unclamped it. It’s a brand new Yuasa battery..
Do you mean mostly dead? Or all the way dead? Because mostly dead means it's slightly alive. But if it's all dead oh, there's only one thing you can do. Search through its pockets and look for loose change.
I have used it on all of the above and it worked fine. The main item would how dead is the battery your attempting to revive? A 4x4 with the larger battery higher amps etc .. will require more time on the charge.
I like videos like this one. I'd rather hear from some guy who actually makes the video because he likes the product. I hate the AI generated voice-overs on UA-cam, where the person making the video is just having AI read a script, and he probably doesn't know hiss ass from his elbow.
It's so simple it is almost laughable. Keep the charger unplugged from the electrical socket in your wall. Then, attach the NEGATIVE (Black) clamp to the NEGATIVE battery post. Then, attach the POSITIVE (Red) clamp to the POSITIVE battery post. Plug in the power cord and the charger will start automatically. Be sure to press the adjustment button to make sure you are charging either a 6 volt or 12 volt battery. If everything is set up properly, a steady, orange indicator light will illuminate and remain that way until the battery is charged. There is a steady green indicator light that will illuminate once the battery charging is complete.
I had something go wrong with the unlocking switch on my Multistrada and it ran the battery down to 5V. My Jr charger and this 4A charger both refused to do anything except charge it to 6V over 3 days (and I had this charger in 12V mode, flashed a light indicating battery defect). So I got a Harbor Freight "dumb" charger and a couple hours later the battery was fine, 13V charged. I don't know exactly what to make of that. Maybe the Battery Tender is too smart for it's own good? In any case, I'm returning the new 4A charger. Can't pay $70 for something that gets beat by Harbor Freight.
Thank you, fellow Alaskan! What does it mean of it alternates blinking amber with blinking green? Mine is doing that right now, and I don't know it it's charging or what. Thank you! 👏👏👏
It s just a 3 ampere charger. 79.99 is crazy expensive there are well know trickle charger brand products for 20 25 dollars. Or chinese stuff for 10 bucks. As I said it s just a charger so do not fooled by this marketing games and waste your hardly earned money.
When I put the battery tender on to my battery , the green light on the 6 volt keeps flashing, is that a normal? The charging light is solid yellow still, it’s been like 24 hours already
+Night Train I️ have two links and will check them. One is for the jr which is the smaller version and the should be the correct one. However, let me check and thank you for letting us know.
Wrenched Out Experiment Thanks for the quick response, the question is can I use the always connected device that it charges and maintains without damaging the motorcycle battery
I've had my battery tenders for more than 10 years, they are excellent.
Between one and 12 what do u recommend

That sucks man and is to bad they have circled back to take care of you !
30 seconds into the video and I'm still watching sparks and have gotten no information
Im using the Deltran 3 amp....for HD 20005 fatboy, 12 v for winter storage...perfect!!
SAE to USB ... glad to know.

Had 3amp charging for a week with some increase in battery but no full charge?
How long are u supposed to leave things plugged into ur battery ?
Does the 6/12 volt charger drop the voltage to 5 volts for the USB connection adapter to your phone?

Is a charger/maintainer the same as a tender ?
Battery Tender company is over 50 years old.
Can it pull from 220 power?
Cool... but how do i use it?
Do you plug it into wall first? Then to battery. Good video by the way
I did this wire harness to my Honda snowblower. Wonder if I could use hand warmers from this
Is there any way the battery tender is faulty and is over charging my battery? My battery was “boiling” so I unclamped it. It’s a brand new Yuasa battery..
Would you please tell me the difference between the Junior and the one you spoke about? Thank you. I need it for my motorcycle.
Might be a foolish question but if my motorcycle battery is dead will this charge it back up to life
Yes and once it’s full it will stable charge
Thanks for answering that.
Do you mean mostly dead? Or all the way dead? Because mostly dead means it's slightly alive. But if it's all dead oh, there's only one thing you can do. Search through its pockets and look for loose change.
If there’s no water in the battery (distilled water) or the metal connectors are bent it will be shot. Good luck
Does it work with AGM batteries? If you leave it for a while...several months...does it gas the water out of the regular lead acid batteries?
how do you ck battery tender to see if its working right. Thank You
how long i can charge the battery tender ? I did charge for 17 hours but I was not fully
Hi. How fast does it charge the battery?
Or ....you can just buy a Lithium Battery and don’t need any of this . Takes 6minutes too recharge the battery 90% , I like the USB adapter thou 👍🏼
What is this your talking about
Can you hook up more than one battery to the unit?
I stuck on the road is this charger would work ? Answer ?
Can it be used to jump start a car ?
Not really. It might work if you could leave the charger plugged into your car battery for a couple of days
First time viewer here, awesome review man, love the garage and bike! I might be getting the Battery Tender Jr. for me S1000RR.
Thanks man, we started another channel just on the garage, cars and bikes. Check it out @ Wrenched Out Garage if your interested
Gracias bro 😎 👌
awesome video, great job man! I need one for my generator battery
Thanks Ronnie
Walmart has the same thing for $19 but you don’t get the USB charger with it
A lot of these chargers quote a battery up to 120 amp I have a car, 4x4 and motorcycle, the 4x4 has a higher amperage battery will it work on this ?
I have used it on all of the above and it worked fine. The main item would how dead is the battery your attempting to revive? A 4x4 with the larger battery higher amps etc .. will require more time on the charge.
@@WrenchedOutExperiment thanks!
If I get the Jr will it be OK for the battery for two months while I go away? Or should I get one that has Desulfator feature also?

For motorcycle do you choose 6 volts or 12 volts ? Thnx
12
On mine you don't choose...it just figures it out and does it automatically
Got the same one at Costco for $24, lucked out. Nice video
Great price man, thank you
Battery tenders are just a dead brick if the voltage of the battery gets too low.
do they make them for 220 volt ?
I don’t think they do
@@WrenchedOutExperiment found one that go from 100-220 all good
Sorry, no desulfating mode. Get a BatteryMINDer.
How about showing the connection to the battery??? etc.
+The Man we are planning to do an install video to show battery connections

You connect the positive lead to the positive terminal, and the negative lead to the negative terminal...

I had a deltran. It over charged 2 ions and 1 agm.
Good question it should since it and most agm battery need to be up kept. But I would say refer to there website
Wal-Mart has a spare connector for $5. I use the Jr for my Harley
Is there a difference from the 4 amp and 5 amp one is one better?
The main item would be amps and power draw. 5 amps would be more power and faster charging.
Any battery tender, for underground car parks without A/C plug?
Not that I’m aware of
Exactly what I am looking for...my ride in storage without power outlet...need a portable battery tender...please let me know if you find one..🐴

Hey buddy, can you leave a battery tender on 24/7 for months on end if you have a car/motorcycle that you don't plan to use for a long time?
Hi Tony, I have not done it and would refer you to there sight to which battery tender offers which trickle charge options before just buying one.
To answer your question, yes. I had batteries sitting on a 0.75A charger for months that worked fine afterwards.

1.25 is not 7
