- Proper maintenance will keep the towers living longer and less repairs. Summer time both towers need to be in full operation, its best during winter and cooler periods to repair the serious stuff in prep before summer.
The other pump puked and will need to be replaced. I already know its gonna be a pain so ill try get some shots see if i get my ass kicked.

Currently taking a HVAC class at my tech school. Really want to get into cooling towers one day.
They are special in a sense of not your typical RTU package unit or 4 ton split system. Towers can be in many different applications and the bigger ones are more to tackle when shit breaks down. Towers are in the commercial and industrial side and that’s where the money is 💵 stick with it!
I did the louvers on 2 larger cooling towers, they were a lot of fun for me personally
If you do this once a year, how do you know that you are preventing Legionella Disease in the system? Do you test regularly for bacteria in the water? How often?
Our water treatment is taken care of by a chemical vendor they also check for it. Just had a inspection done by UL as well. I’ve been told towers that are not maintained and have shit growing in it that’s not good.
How often do you recommend maintenance and cleaning? Quarterly or annually?
Annually in the spring is when I do mine. And quarterly inspections.
