    I just bought this set yesterday at Ulta Beauty. I have always loved the hot rollered look that was very popular in the 1970's. That was my era! The glamorous Charlie's Angels look. So pretty and feminine! I can't wait to wash my hair and use my new set for the first time! Beauty is on it's way for me!

    Hi Melissa......I just bought this set today at Ulta even though a lot of people are complaining about the clips , LOL! I didn't have any trouble but one reviewer said if you have trouble put the smaller end of the clip in digging it in alittle on the top. I did use alligator clips on some to stabilize them alittle better on my hair if I didn't get it tight enough since my hair is in a layered bob cut. Also my scalp is sensitive to heat so if they got too hot the alligator clip helped keep them off my scalp. I do like the body & no curl it gives my hair in the crown area. Since I am getting some gray in the back, it curls too easy because it is coming in curly. The 2" roller was perfect! You look gorgeous as usual & thanks for all your helpful videos.

    I like that the whole set is the same larger size. Those clips actually look nicer than the norm. You're right, rollers are so much faster, love them for that reason! Thanks for sharing these! xo

      ***** I like rollers that are the same size, too Crystal. I do have to say I really like them a lot. A lot less hands on styling just pop them in and put on your makeup, eat breakfast, and there you go - your hair's done! lol. Many thanks and have a terrific week Love, Melissa

    I just watched your 2 inch roller video. Very helpful- I ordered some on Amazon for 26.00 dollars! With the different clips it was a little more, but great price. It was realy nice to see your whole process of rolling up your hair, and I agree I bet its way less damaging to use the rollars rather than a curling iron.
    Love your videos!

    How is it possible for you to look so pretty with your hair in curlers?!!!! Your hair looks so pretty with all the fullness, sheen and body! Great curler set. I've never seen a set with curlers that large. Great purchase. Love your necklace, too! :) Have a great week! xoxoJanet

    Hi Melissa...I love you hair like this. It is just perfect. Another roller set I miss is the Caruso Steam Rollers. I saw them at Ulta the other day. I used them in the early 90's and I loved how the curl would hold until you washed you hair. I am thinking of buying them again. I would buy the ones you showed but right now my hair is too short. If I grow it long again I would like to get these. Your hair always looks amazing. Hope you have a blessed Sunday! Love you...Laura

    Good morning, Melissa. This is a huge difference, in such a short amount of time. Your hair looks beautiful, full, and healthy. I have a set of large curlers (not 2") with similar clips, but I have such a hard time vetting the curlers staying put. I am going to re-watch this video, to see how you clipped them it. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, joy, peace, and love, my beautiful, and kind friend......MaryEllen

      Sensational After 60 ME, they really are so quick, and I love something that is very quick. I know Uppiesbeads (Tammy) uses the clips and the little metal things both to get hers to stay put so watch one of her older ones, where she does hot rollers. I really love hot rollers cause they are fast and they last on me a long time. Have a great day. Love you! Melissa

    Hot rollers were sooo popular in the '80s! And for a good reason, so much easier on your arms than holding a curling iron above your head. I am off to pull my set out of storage right now. Thanx for the reminder! Love your videos!

      L Beck Thanks so much. You know, back in the 70's I used hot rollers. I remember we called them electric rollers back then. And I think they are better on your hair, too over the hot iron and rollers. Anyway, thanks so much. Love, Melissa

    They look great Melissa, that is exactly what I want from rollers-body not curl, but most hot rollers are too small. I need to look for these, we don't have Conair, but I think here it is Babyliss. They worked really well.

    Mellisa you are beautiful inside and out. I've done a few of your suggestions bought glytone the skin has to be perfect without breaks on it and then it does sting so much. I use it every other day. I also bought those full size jumbo rollers. You are so kind to share everything. I can see why you are so blessed with beauty. I have long hair similar to your styles but med. brown. and it was true I used those other rollers and when I took it out they ripped on my hair. then I found you talking about the whole roller deal. I have 1 and 1/2 rollers by coair but got the bigger 2 inch coming in the mail. I am going to be 71 and I am quite attractive. I lived in Hawaii for 20 years so I had brown spots on my chest and now almost all gone. I used neutrogenia corrector brown spots must have 30 tubes already but spots are gone or real dull. Glytone is nice but I need to use it every other day. I am in OK health. But my daughter had leukemia and brain tumors and still is walking and talking. I also have two wonderful sons. All kids born in Hawaii where I enjoyed too much sun and sunsets for 20 years. I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and sharing all your beauty hints. I am married now for 23 years to my 2nd husband and live in Florida. Thanks again you are an angel. Joanne

    Melissa,, I have your hair...exactly, except brunette.I have the John Freida 8 roller set, but it is the same thing, a two inch set with the flocked,ceramic deal. I do exactly what you do, but then I rub Living Proof PHD between my palms and work it through. Amazing.. Absolutely love the effect. Isn't this just the greatest way in the world to get rid of the puff, frizz that we hate? it is sooo easy! BTW, I got my set when you mentioned n an earlier video that your video on this kind of roller set was oncoming. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear one!

    • @Melissa55

      nicole declercq Nicole, they sound like exactly the same thing! Do you use the PHD dry right before you roll your hair? I think I might like to try that. aw, I'm so glad you like the larger rollers. I thrilled companies are making them now to get the lift without so much curl! Yay! Love you! Melissa

    Thanks so much for the video on those hot rollers. They'd be so much easier for me then the curling iron I think. Your hair turned out beautiful. My hair is also blond and the same length as yours. I'll see if Walmart carries those if not I'll try Ulta. Now I know what to tell my daughter what I'd like when she wants to buy me a gift. That was so helpful and thanks so much again Melissa.

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  9 років тому

      Trishanaclo Oh my goodness, you may be right. I'm going to try it tomorrow and I'll report back. I know you put the slot on this metal heat rod thingies to heat up the rollers but if my hair will fit in there, that is a terrific way to get the ends tucked in. I may take too big of chunks, but I'll give it a try! Thanks so much for this suggestion. You are brilliant! Love Melissa

    Ok, this is exactly what I need. I have a smaller set of flocked hot rollers that I paid over $100 for, but I really like a softer curl. So I've been using the curling iron and velcro method too for several years now. But like you, I am really tired of the time it takes. Our hair is similar length, but mine has no natural curl or bend, so I hope I can achieve similar results. Can't wait to try! Laurie

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  9 років тому

      trixiegirlism Laurie if you think you might want just the lift and smoothness, this might be the way to go.. Spray it at the root before you wind each roller and that should help to keep some height. If you get them, let me know what you think! Love to you, Melissa

    I loved your look so much I bought these rollers, but those clips won't hold the roller in at all. I try to put a second roller in and the first one just falls out. I have tried everything. Could it be because I have medium-length hair instead of long? Or maybe the clips have changed in the 4 years since you made this video, although they look the same. :(

    • @ginni333
      @ginni333 7 років тому +2

      Most are ready in 5 minutes, some even less. With many they get a little hotter the longer they're in which can be damaging. I put mine in at about three minutes cause the hotter the more damage.

    hi, Melissa. Your hair looks fantastic. I've been thinking about getting a set of hot rollers, and these look exactly the size I want! Love them! I'm having the keratin treatment next week and I hope this type of hot rollers will give me a little lift and volume because, as you know, the kerati leaves your hair beautifully shiny and free of frizz, but totally flat, flat, flat. Thank you for sharing, love and blessings, 😍😍

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  9 років тому

      Maria Martinez Maria, thank you so very much. I love these rollers. I hope you really like the keratin treatment, but I honestly have found that these rollers lift the roots and give me some height. I have to have a big of "bigness" in my hair. Just add a bit of hairspray and it should be good to go! Let me know and many thanks, Melissa

      swoozebird Thanks Swoozie! Cindy Prendergast sent me the necklace and I love it! These do have 8 rollers, but I only have to use 7 because I use big chunks of hair. I'm mainly just tryng to get lift at the root. You have gorgeous hair. Many thanks! Melissa

    Hi Melissa these rollers are great and your hair looks lovely. I know what you mean about your hair breaking off and being left on the velcro rollers it's bad enough seeing it on the brush. I also have blonde coloured hair and it breaks off it's such a pain. Love your videos xox

      lorraine o callaghan Lorraine, I love the way the curling iron and velcros work, - I really do, but it seems if you have fine hair it just gets pulled and broken. I think I'm going to retire them. Anyway, thanks so much! Love, Melissa

    They did a great job on your hair, did they stay in well? I mainly use hot rollers because that is the easiest for me but a lot of times the ones with the clip like that, I have to be careful moving around or they will start to fall, you hair looks beautiful! Love you!

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  9 років тому +1

      Susan W Susan, I have to say they body did stay in really well. Keep in mind I am still at the beginnings of a keratin treatment, so my hair is tending to do straighter as a rule. I wonder if there are those metal clips that size at Sally's. You could then do both the metal clip and the plastc one, both. That would hold it well I think. I'm going to look next time I'm out there. Many thanks, Melissa

    Hi beautifull...it is so nice to find that right product...and these rollers just do it for you...such a nice look..when I see it I always say to myself...Jana..you have to layer your hair a bit....because I keep it almost one length..and no curls hold in this straight heavy hair...you got me thinking now.....I was going to follow up with you on that Airbonne skin care....how is it working out for you?..I am keeping my old routine for now but have to come up with something different as sagging is driving me crazy...what is your intake on face exercices...You know darling your skin and your overall yuthfullness just blows my mind off...you really go against the nature...it is amazing.....because you are not changing a bit....but like they say...once beautifull...always beautifull....but you are really unique....have yourself a wonderfull weekend....sending a big hugg....Jana

      @Melissa55  9 років тому

      Jana Kleinerova Hello Jana!!! I do like hair one length too. I bet yours is just gorgeous. Well, I'm going to be honest with you - I sent the Arbonne back. Here's my reasoning. I had to order it online (that's not such a biggie though), I didn't think it did anything special for my skin, I have such really good luck with Lancome. So many of Lancome's products are gluten free and they just agree with me, so I'm just going to stick with that line. On the facial exercises, I have heard people swear by them, but I don't do them. I don't like to manipulate my skin. (even though I do use a brush to apply my foundation). I try not to move it around very much. But that's just my opinion. I've had a lot of success with the Lancome and sleeping on my back. That seems to help with gravity, cause it kind of gives me a facelift every night! lol. I always felt like doing backbends helped me cause I get blood flow to my head, but that's probably just a lot of baloney on my part. Anyway, you are the best. Much love and many thanks, Melissa
